Chapter 465: 464: Raging Sky
There were numerous danger zones in the shattered dimension of the Old Ones, and of all these danger zones, the Raging Sky was undoubtedly one of the most dangerous danger zones.
The Raging Sky was a place where even Dreadkeepers who were comparable to tier 5s had to be careful. Although the presence of a Principality made the Raging Sky extremely dangerous, what most people feared was the environment itself and not the Principality.
An Ascendant had died in the Raging Sky, and his death was not caused by a Principality or a monster, but the environment itself.
It was a vast land drenched in relentless and endless storms under a sky as dark and black as the void. Thunder rumbles across the barren landscape like the growls of a powerful and ancient beast.
Every few moments, bolts of lightning tore through the dark with a blinding brilliance while scorching the earth in brilliant blue-white veins and leaving shimmering afterimages of destruction in their wake.
These bolts varied in color and intensity, some were streaks of blue and silver, while others lashed out in jagged arcs of violet, while the rarest strike was a deadly crimson bolt which left an eerie, foreboding silence in its wake.
The ground itself was scarred, broken, and had cracks running through it. These were caused by countless lightning strikes that have carved out deep craters and left trails of petrified earth.
Scorched, petrified soil and shattered rocks litter the landscape, and in some places, veins of molten minerals run beneath the cracked surface, glowing faintly like dying embers beneath a layer of charred black earth.
Apart from the dangerous lightning bolts, what added to the chaos of the Raging Sky were the Tempest Whirlwinds.
They were massive, unpredictable tornadoes that could erupt without warning from anywhere in the Raging Sky. These weren't ordinary twisters, but tornadoes made of darkness and lightning bolts formed by the violent clash of energies unleashed from the skies.
The Tempest Whirlwinds towered high into the sky, ripping through the land with an insatiable hunger, dragging rocks, debris, and even unlucky creatures into their swirling core before shredding them to dust.
Each Tempest Whirlwind was surrounded by an aura of shifting lightning, snapping and crackling like a serpent, and their howls were like the wailing of a thousand tormented souls.
Although the Tempest Whirlwinds were forces of destruction on their own, what made them more feared than even the lightning bolts of the Raging Sky were the creatures within massive tornadoes.
Within the Tempest Whirlwinds were creatures that had found a way to survive in the whirlwinds. Some were mere shadows, darting swiftly between flashes while using the dark as their ally. Meanwhile, others were monstrosities made of living lightning. They were like vengeful spirits of the storm itself.

As Corey, Pamela, and Selene stood at the border of the Raging Sky, Corey recalled what he knew of the Raging Sky, and he could not help but have a thought as he gazed at the land before him that seemed like it was from hell.
"Are… Are we going to be safe?"
Although Selene had a higher than average affinity to the lightning element, the sight of countless lightning bolts striking the ground, the continuous loud rumbling of the thunderstorms, the shattered ground, and the colossal tornadoes she could see from afar sent a chill down her spine.
'Why are all the danger zones in this crazy world so abnormal? First it was a land filled with countless aquatic beasts killing one another in a maddened frenzy, now it's a land filled with lightning and tornadoes!... Just what am I doing here?!'
Selene had the urge to vent out her frustrations by screaming, but she knew that it wouldn't help her in the slightest at all.
"Don't worry, the lightning shouldn't harm us."
Pamela's voice flowed into Selene's ears, and Selene looked at her with raised brows.
"Why?"
"I'll control the runes around us to not make the lightning attracted to us."
Pamela said with a confident smile, and Selene was slightly taken aback by the beauty of her smile.
'Fortunately, I'm more beautiful than her.'
Pamela thought while releasing an internal sigh of relief.
"Let's go."
Corey's voice broke her out of her thoughts, and then she glanced at Corey who had crossed the border and was now walking inside the Raging Sky.
She subconsciously followed him, and Pamela was right beside her.
"Wouldn't it be better for us if we wait outside the Raging Sky in case we have to fight the army of the Anacletus clan?"
"I feel like it'd be more dangerous to fight them in a danger zone that they obviously have more information and knowledge on compared to us."
Selene voiced her concerns as she walked by Corey's left. She glanced at Corey before shifting her gaze to her right.
A silver lightning bolt had struck the ground approximately fifty meters away from her.
"Have you heard of the saying, fight poison with poison?"
Corey asked, and Selene nodded.
"Well, I also believe in fighting a dangerous situation with a more dangerous situation when one does not have a choice anymore."
Selene furrowed her brows when she heard this.
"But… That doesn't make sense."
'Shit! I almost said 'That's just very stupid'.... Do you have a deathwish Selene?!'
Selene exhaled a deep sigh of relief, and Corey spoke.
"It's not meant to make sense."
Corey said without explaining much, and Selene's lips twitched.
Just as she was about to speak, Pamela spoke.
"By the way, I wanted to ask a long time ago…"
Pamela took a brief pause, and Corey and Selene glanced at her.
"... Why did you guys choose to come to the Raging Sky? This was where I planned on going, and I'm very sure I didn't tell you guys or anybody about it."
Selene tilted her head to the side and asked with a confused expression, "Why did you want to come to the Raging Sky, Pamela?"
Pamela shrugged with a nonchalant expression, "The runes told me that there's an object that would benefit me greatly in this place… They said that the object is the most important object in the Raging Sky."
The instant Pamela said these words, a strange expression appeared on Selene's face and she could not help but take a peek at Corey.
Meanwhile, Corey's expression froze and he could not help but curse inwardly.
'Please don't tell me that she's going after the infinity crystal in this place.'
Corey had the urge to curse out loud in annoyance, but his Ears of Omniscience picked up on a sound from behind them and he frowned.
'Is that… a dog?'
