Chapter 466: 465: We Wing It
Woof!
Woof!
Woof!
Barking sounds resounded in Corey's ears as he looked behind him with his brows furrowed in confusion.
Pamela and Selene paused and looked behind them also with furrowed brows, however, they saw nothing.
"What is it?"
Pamela glanced at Corey, and so did Selene.
"Something is coming… but it's still far from us."
Although what he heard sounded more like a dog's bark, Corey knew that there was no normal animal in the shattered dimension. For all he knew, the barking sound could be from a human.
That was how insane and abnormal the shattered dimension of the Old Ones was.
Meanwhile, the instant Pamela and Selene heard this, their brows jumped in surprise. They followed Corey's gaze, but they neither saw nor sensed anything.
"Should we wait or we should continue moving?"
Selene asked without looking away. She was worried that a monster or attack would suddenly appear in front of them.
'If it's the army of the Anacletus clan, then that means they have a way of tracking us… We should go deeper and see if we can take advantage of anything in the Raging Sky or if we can even find a way to avoid them.'
Corey furrowed his brows in contemplation for a second, and then he turned.
"Let's go."
Without waiting for a response from Pamela or Selene, Corey started running deeper into the Raging Sky with his eyes turning pure white.
Pamela and Selene looked at each other, and then they also started running. They caught up to Corey, and then Pamela asked,
"So… what's the plan?"
"We wing it."
Corey answered with an extremely calm tone, and Pamela was instantly taken aback, and for a moment, she almost stumbled.
She must have heard wrong right?
"What?"
Corey glanced at her before shifting his gaze away, "I said we'll wing it… We'll fight with all we have, and if we find out that we cannot win, then we run away."
"What the fuck? That's a shitty plan."
Pamela could not help but exclaim with a bit of bafflement in her voice, and Selene nodded inwardly.
'Tell him, girl. Say what I dare not say.'
Meanwhile, despite hearing Pamela's words, Corey was unfazed and his expression did not change.
"Do you have a better plan?"
'Since you're here and you're such a monster like me, our chances of survival would increase… Worst comes to worse, I'll tell Chucky to concoct a pill or an elixir in the Alchemy Anvil, and then I'll use the Supreme Tribulation to defeat the Ascendant just like I did with the Capra King.'
Although Corey had this thought, he genuinely did not wish to use such a method again because his instincts were warning him that if he unleashed a Supreme Tribulation so soon, he'd be in extreme danger and his life could come to an end.
"I didn't think of one because I thought you already had one."
Pamela shook her head, and Corey gave a nonchalant shrug.
"Well, if you don't have any plan, we wing it… and if we fail, we run away… Trust me, I have quite a lot of experience in running away from enemies stronger than me."
'Why do you seem proud of such a thing, Master?'
Selene gave Corey a strange look, and so did Pamela.
"You make it sound like an achievement."
Unlike Selene, Pamela had no qualms speaking her mind.
"Trust me, it's an impressive talent."
Corey shamelessly nodded his head, and Pamela and Selene's expressions became stranger. Pamela was about to speak, but her expression and that of Corey's instantly changed.
"How surprising… You truly are Tier 2."
A calm, aged voice filled with curiosity and a tinge of surprise rang out in the ears of Corey, Selene, and Pamela.
Without hesitation, the trio jumped and forced their bodies to come to a stop.
Approximately fifteen meters in front of them was an old man with a long unkempt white beard and a silver white shoulder-length hair. The man's physique did not match his age, and the runes tattoos on his body made the old man look like a being that was built and born for war.
"Shit."
Selene voiced out the thoughts that were precisely on the mind of both Corey and Pamela as they stared at Raegar Anacletus who stood before them with his hands behind his back, and his piercing silver gray eyes observing the trio with a tinge of curiosity.
"Two tier 4s and a tier 2… One has a better than average affinity for lightning, while the other has an aura that sends shivers down my spine despite the gap between our power levels…"
Raegar Anacletus spoke slowly with a calm and slightly intrigued tone as he gazed at Pamela and Selene, with his gaze remaining more on Pamela than Selene.
He then shifted his gaze towards Corey.
"As for the tier 2… you're an enigma… You emit the aura of a tier 2, but if one is not careful and does not peel through this aura you emit, one would fail to notice the mysterious, boundless, and unfathomable aura you faintly emit… I'm afraid only those above Tier 6 would be able to instantly notice this about you."
Raegar slowly shook his head after he spoke.
"No wonder Gunnarr died… He must have underestimated you guys."
'No he didn't, it's just that these two monsters combined together was too much for even somebody like Gunnarr to handle.'
Selene lampooned Raegar's words and ignorance inwardly, but a second later, her expression changed when she felt the ground beneath her feet tremble.
'What?'
Her eyes widened, and she turned to her back just like Corey and Pamela, and what they saw made their scalps numb.
Approximately two hundred meters away from them was an army of more than a thousand jogging towards them with their expressions as stoic, indifferent, and calm as a frozen lake.
When Selene saw this, her lips could not help but twitch.
'Following Master is really bad for my wellbeing.'
