Chapter 1661: Terrible situation (1)
After making sure that there wasn't anything left of the corruption energy bird, I said to Joan, "Let's fly around and see if we can find anything. We need to head back to the capital to see what the situation was."
Of course I couldn't just tell Joan to go to the capital since we had no idea which direction even led to the capital.
We had been chased by the Apostle of Destruction and had no choice but to run, so we really were lost in the territory of the Mofu Mofu Kingdom.
The only way to find our way back to society was to fly around until we arrived at a town that would be able to guide us back to the capital.
Eventually, we were able to find a town.
Only the moment that we walked into the town…
"What is this situation?" I couldn't help deeply knitting my brows when I saw the destruction that was all around me.
This town wasn't considered the biggest town, but it certainly wasn't a small town. However, there was nothing other than rubble that filled this place at this point.
It was as if there was something that came through this town and decimated everything that was in this place.
It really seemed like whoever did this spared no effort.
And as for who it was…it wasn't hard to tell since I could see the traces that they left behind as they swept through this town.
"Has that Apostle of Destruction already gathered such a large force that it could send them all the way out here?"
I remembered how the Apostle of Destruction had pulled on the corruption energy inside of the array that summoned it to summon those corruption creatures. After what happened, there was no doubt that the Apostle of Destruction would summon more of the forces of Destruction to attack the Mofu Mofu Kingdom.
It was just…
"How many have it already summoned?" I said in a grim voice as I looked at the scene of destruction in front of me.
With a shake of my head, I raised my hand that had the scarf in it and released a cleansing mist through this town. The moment that the divine energy mist rolled over the town, all traces of corruption that was left behind were instantly purified.
At the same time…
"Ah!"
There were screams of pain that came from the rubble before these black creatures suddenly came out of the rubble. These were the same creatures that were made of corruption energy that I had faced before.
I didn't expect them to be hiding in the rubbles, but they really weren't a match for the mist that I created.
They might have been able to resist the mist in the past, but I was a different person now.
As long as I boosted the mist with my divine energy, it was much too strong for these corruption monsters to resist.
At the same time, I didn't even have to use that much of my divine energy to boost it by this much. It was only 1% of the total divine energy that I had after receiving the second inheritance.
I really was completely different from before.
Once the corruption monsters were all purified, there were others that came out of the rubble. Only the ones that came out of the rubble this time weren't affected by the mist that I created.
Instead, it actually helped them to stand in the mist.
That was because these were demi humans that had been affected by the corruption energy that was around them. All of them were showing signs of the illness that had affected the demi humans previously.
Once they felt their illness being cured and they saw the corruption monsters being destroyed, they all looked at me with strange looks.
It was as if they were looking at me as if I was some kind of saviour.
But at the same time, I could tell that they were looking at me as if they wanted something from me.
I was the one that had easily dealt with the forces of Destruction that they had suffered at the hands of, so it was only natural that they would look to me for protection. They would hope that I would protect them from the forces of Destruction that would come again.
However, they were disappointed in the end as I said, "Which way is it to the capital?"
The one that seemed to be the leader of this group of demi humans couldn't help taking a step back when he heard this, showing that he was caught off guard by my words.
In the end, he pointed in a certain direction.
But he still asked, "Saviour, can you please escort us to a safer place?"
I just shook my head and said, "I need to get to the capital as soon as possible. This area will be safe for now, but head in the direction of the capital. That is where the forces of the racial alliance will be gathered to take down the forces of Destruction. That will be the safest place for you."
I didn't give him a chance to say anything as I jumped onto Joan's back again and had her fly off.
By the time that they reacted, Joan and I were already gone.
From above, I could see that they were slowly packing up and were going to head in the direction of the capital like they pointed out for me.
Once I saw this, I didn't hesitate as I headed in the direction that had been pointed out.
With Joan's new speed, it took no time at all for us to arrive at the capital.
The guards that were on the walls were certainly surprised to see Joan and I, especially with how fast we were and the layer of white light around Joan.
But the moment that we landed…
"Please follow us to the castle, his majesty has been waiting for you."
