Chapter 1652: Actual miracle
This gash was the result of Joan being cut by the blade of corruption energy.
It wasn't just corruption energy that filled the gash, it was also Joan's blood that was coming from it.
However, the black colour of her blood showed that she was being poisoned by the corruption energy in her wounds.
At this rate, it really didn't seem like Joan would be able to survive.
Once I made sure that the Apostle of Destruction was really gone, I immediately went towards Joan's wound.
But the moment that I approached, it was like the corruption energy that filled the wound sensed me. There was a pulsing that came from the corruption energy in the wound that made Joan let out a muffled cry of pain.
At the same time, it even seemed like the corruption energy wanted to jump at me even though it was inside of Joan's wound.
I gritted my teeth when I saw this before raising the button.
Though I was drained, I didn't care as I gathered ice as quickly as I could around Joan's wound.
This naturally wasn't any normal ice, this was ice that was formed with divine energy.
I even poured my own divine energy inside of the ice just to make it as strong as possible to fight against the corruption energy that was in Joan's wound. But it seemed like it wasn't enough as the corruption energy resisted the effect of the ice.
It really didn't seem like I would be able to do anything to save Joan at this rate.
I could already hear that her breathing was becoming more and more strained.
At this rate, it really seemed like she was about to die.
But how could I let that happen?
Patting her, I said, "Keep fighting, I'll find a way to save you. Even if I give up my life, I won't let you die."
Joan weakly looked up at me when she heard this, but the look on her face…
"Don't you even dare think that. All you have to do is do whatever you can to stay alive."
Even though I reprimanded her like this, it really didn't seem like she was able to hold on much longer.
With how ugly the wound looked, I knew that it would take a miracle for her to recover and survive this.
I really wanted to reprimand her for doing that, but this wasn't the time for that.
As time passed, it really didn't seem like I would be able to do anything against the corruption energy that infested her wounds…It really seemed like it was a matter of time before we would have to say goodbye…
"I don't care what you do, just do it!" I said into the Mark of God on my hand, even though I knew that they wouldn't be able to hear me or do anything.
But to my surprise, there was a reaction that came from the corruption energy that was inside of Joan's wounds. It seemed that there was something that was inhibiting it as it was no longer as active as before.
Then all of a sudden, it seemed like there was something that was purifying that corruption energy.
The corruption energy reacted strongly as if it was fighting back against whatever it was that was purifying it, but it didn't seem like the corruption energy was able to do anything.
When I looked closer, I found that there was a layer of white light that had appeared around Joan's wound that was separating the corruption energy from it.
When I looked up at Joan's head, I found that there was a Mark of God that was glowing on it.
"They heard me?"
It really was a miracle that had descended at this time.
After the corruption energy tried to fight back for a bit, it was finally completely separated from Joan's wounds.
Once it had been separated from her wounds, the layer of light seemed to flick it away and then wrapped it up before crushing it into nothingness.
Just like that, the corruption energy that had been sucking at Joan's wound had been purified.
After a few seconds of being dazed, I realized that there was something else that I had to do.
Even if the corruption energy had been taken care of, there was still the problem of her wounds.
So this time, I pulled out the branch from the Tree of Life.
This was a branch that came from the Tree of Life, which meant that it was a branch that was filled with life energy.
I tapped it against Joan's wound and there was a green light that suddenly came from the branch that went into her wounds. With this green light surrounding her wounds, they started to close at a visible rate.
At the same time, the blood that had turned black from the poisoning of the corruption energy was slowly returning to its normal red colour.
With both the corruption energy and the wound being taken care of, it seemed like Joan's condition was stabilizing.
The problem was that she was still weak from everything that had happened.
Even if she survived, she needed a place to recover and food to energize her.
Not to mention that the Apostle of Destruction should sense that the corruption energy was taken care of.
Staying here definitely was not an option.
I looked at Joan awkwardly after I finished curing her wound.
She was just too big for me to move on my own…
She looked at me and then started moving on her own, though it seemed that she was wobbly because of her condition.
I went forward to help her, but I really couldn't since there was a large difference in size.
So we could only make our way slowly from the crash site as we looked for a place to rest up.
However, this was the middle of the forest, so it wasn't as if there were that many places to hide.
It would take another miracle…
