Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure

Chapter 1653: Stumbled upon

Since there was no knowing what would come, there was no time to waste at all.

But in this place, I really had no idea where to go.

After all, I wasn't even sure where we were since we had just been running as fast as we could from the Apostle of Destruction. Even if I had a map, I wouldn't actually be able to figure out where we were on it since there were no landmarks.

However, while I was worrying about all of this.

"Roar." Joan just gave a simple roar before pointing forward.

The way that she did this made it very clear what she was saying.

"There's nothing to think about. All we can do is keep moving forward and hope that we can find something."

I couldn't help shaking my head with a bitter smile when I saw this.

I certainly didn't expect her to be giving me this kind of advice, but she was right. There really wasn't a single thing that we could do right now, so all we could do was hope that we stumbled on something.

The problem was that there was no telling if the Apostle of Destruction would be coming back.

After all, the corruption energy that it had left behind had been taken care of. Since that corruption energy was related to the Apostle of Destruction, then it was only natural that it would be able to sense that we had taken care of it.

Since it had been so hellbent on killing us, then there was no doubt that it would come back once it felt that the corruption energy that it left behind was taken care of.

When it came back, would we even be able to stop it?

The first time that we tried had put us in this state, it would certainly be much worse the second time around.

In the end, we were able to find something.

Since the Mofu Mofu Kingdom's demi human race didn't develop their lands the same way that the humans did, it meant that there were many parts of the Mofu Mofu Kingdom that just didn't have any traces of demi human interference.

It meant that there were more places that formed naturally like this cave that was in front of us.

The best part was that it was a cave that was even big enough for Joan to enter, so it wouldn't be a problem to hide her.

Once we had settled, there was the problem of setting up camp.

It would have been hard if I was the same as before, but I had much more stamina and strength.

So in the end, I was able to build a decent sized fire by the entrance of the cave so we didn't get choked on the smoke. But I also made sure that the smoke didn't go too far that it would expose our position.

After taking care of this, I couldn't help taking a closer look at the cave.

It was all because I had put these emergency supplies in my Storage Ring that we were able to survive here.

With it, we didn't have to worry about dying of starvation and thirst.

As I looked at the cave, I couldn't help being amazed by how deep it was.

It seemed that this cave led quite deeply into the ground with how dark it was. At the same time, there was nothing that was above ground for this cave which showed that it led anywhere above ground.

The more that I looked at this, the more that I was curious about where this place led.

Joan could see this, so she gave a soft roar like she was saying, "Just go and explore. I'll be fine on my own."

I couldn't help hesitating when I heard this from Joan, but eventually I made my decision.

"I'll be back."

She gave a slight nod when she heard this, but I could tell that she was tired just from this.

What Joan needed now was to rest or else…

For that, I should check out what was inside of this cave since there was no telling if this was safe or not. It only seemed safe on the surface, but that didn't mean that it was certain that it would be completely safe.

As such, it was best if I took a closer look at what was hidden in this cave.

Taking a torch from the fire, I started heading deeper into the cave.

But even after heading deeper, it didn't seem like there was anything that was out of the ordinary for this place. This place seemed like a normal cave no matter where I looked around me.

It didn't seem like there was anything strange about it.

Well, other than the fact that this cave led quite deep into the ground.

"It really is steep in some of these places." I couldn't help saying to myself as I almost slipped in several parts of the cave.

But in the end, it didn't seem like I was going to discover anything by wandering around like this. At the same time, it wouldn't be good to leave Joan alone for long since there was no telling what would happen.

That was what I had thought, but I didn't get to follow this plan as I suddenly felt something coming from inside of me.

"Is this corruption energy?"

That was my first thought when I felt that feeling coming from the divine energy inside of me.

But then I felt that there was something different about this sensation of resonance.

It wasn't resonating the same way that it would when it felt corruption energy.

Rather, it felt like this was a kind of resonance that came from feeling something that was similar to it.

But the only thing that was similar to the divine energy that was inside of me was…

The moment that this thought passed through my mind, I couldn't help deeply knitting my brows.
