Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure

Chapter 1644: Sudden change (3)

When we arrived in the capital, the news from the reports wasn't good.

"There are arrays erupting all over the kingdom?"

"There are still some that aren't accounted for?"

"Go and get information as soon as you can!"

It was as I had expected, it wasn't just the single array that we had gone to seal that had suddenly erupted.

Since that one array erupted, it only made sense that there was something that triggered the explosion of the array. At the same time, it would only be natural that there would be explosions from the other arrays as well.

Only, we still had no idea what was happening with them…

The only thing that we actually knew was…

"So they're forming some kind of connection between them that's going to connect them into a single array."

Looking at the map, I couldn't help saying, "But it's not really an array if it's just a circle…So what is it that they're planning to do with this?"

"What if it's not just the circle?" The right minister asked.

It didn't seem like he actually knew what he was talking about, but what he said actually gave me an idea.

"Bring the reports on where the people afflicted are located."

Everyone looked at me with confused looks when they heard this, but the right minister arranged for the staff of the castle to take care of this. Then after they brought it over, he looked over my back to see what I was looking for.

However, as I looked over the reports, I couldn't help knitting my brows.

It wasn't that I didn't know what I was looking for, it was just that the data was too spread out that I couldn't actually find the things that I wanted to find.

"The location of the arrays that make up the outer circle is easier to find since they are placed at set distances from each other. That means that there is a pattern to them and that makes it so that they perfectly intersect with towns that are in the area."

Hearing this, the right minister slowly seemed to understand what I meant by this and started looking carefully at the reports.

But as he did, he also couldn't help deeply knitting his brows as he started seeing the same thing that I did.

"There's no pattern here. There's no telling what shape the inside of the array has, so there's no patterns for us to find. It's all random for us."

I nodded in agreement when he said this.

Naturally since they created the outer ring of the array, they would also create the inner part of the array. That meant that there would be pieces of metal containing the corruption energy spread all over the kingdom as well.

A grim look soon appeared on the right minister's face as he said, "Then what about the people that were near those pieces, what do we do about them?"

He had seen the eruption of corruption energy that had come from the array that we had tried to seal.

That was the reason why we had evacuated the people from those areas around the arrays in the first place.

But for those pieces that we didn't know about that were scattered around the kingdom, once they released their corruption energy…

There was no telling what would happen to the people that were nearby, but it certainly wouldn't be good for them.

That was why the right minister looked at me as if he blamed me for not thinking about this.

However, that look soon disappeared as he seemed to realize that this couldn't be blamed on me. Instead, it seemed like it was replaced by a look that seemed to blame himself for this.

I didn't say anything since I did feel a bit guilty towards the people that had been caught up in this.

If only I had thought about this earlier, then perhaps I could have done something for them.

King Kashou was the one that broke the silence by saying, "There's no time to be thinking about this. Right now, we can't dwell on our past mistakes and need to focus on the future."

As we turned to look at him, he said with a serious look, "What about the rest of the people of our Mofu Mofu Kingdom? Will we just abandon them? Or will we think of a way to deal with this giant array across our kingdom and find a way to save them all?"

Seeing him like this, it really seemed like he was a king.

Well, he was a king, but the way that he acted usually made it hard for me to think of him as a king.

Though I should be the last one to say something like that since I normally didn't act like a king either even though I was one.

The right minister was the first one to snap out of his daze as he said to his men, "Send people out to gather information at once. I want to know everything about what is happening in our territory."

After saying this, he turned to me to ask, "Is it alright if we make use of your wyverns? Time is of the essence and we need to be able to move as fast as possible."

I nodded in agreement without any hesitation before turning to look at Klein who was also here.

He gave a nod in response before saying, "I'll take care of the logistics, just leave it all to me."

With that, he followed the subordinates of the right minister to send them off on wyverns.

Once they were gone, the right minister took a deep breath before going back to the reports that we had been looking at previously.

It seemed that he recognized that there was nothing else that we could do right now, so he was just going to go over these reports to see if there were any patterns.

While it didn't seem like there was much hope, it was better than doing nothing.

As such, I started going over the reports with him.
