Chapter 12: Second Life, Building a Home Together
Her whole body was still so stiff.
He had to give Qiqi a full-body massage, making sure not a single part was left untouched.
Only by fully loosening up every joint could she start moving properly.
Elliot stared blankly for a moment at her small, delicate feet.
The white stockings wrapped around her tiny soles like icy white jade.
Even her heels were flawlessly smooth, without a single crease.
Through the fabric, he could faintly see the pink beneath—soft and tender, like freshly cooked wontons.
"Don't... look at Qiqi's... feet..."
Qiqi's childlike voice snapped Elliot out of his daze.
Her usually expressionless eyes seemed to hold a trace of shyness.
"Sorry, I was just lost in thought."
Elliot casually brushed it off and began gently massaging her feet.
Every area was handled with care—pressing, kneading, and lightly tapping to ensure proper movement and flexibility.
Once both feet were done, he said, "Qiqi, try moving your feet now."
Right after he spoke, her small feet began to wiggle, and her toes curled adorably.
"My feet... can move now..."
Elliot could hear the hint of joy in her voice.
"That's great."
He moved on to massage her calves and knees.
Each time, he made sure there were no signs of stiffness before continuing.
Next came the thighs—a more delicate area, but Elliot didn't think much of it.
He had grown up with Little Hu Tao and had no improper thoughts about young children.
After finishing with her thighs and pelvis, he moved on to her waist, spine, chest, arms, and neck...
By the time he was done, Qiqi could move just like a normal person.
"Whew... finally done."
Elliot was drenched in sweat, as if he'd just finished an intense workout.
"Qiqi... can move now..."
She was clearly thrilled to have her mobility back.
But her joy quickly gave way to concern when she noticed how out of breath Elliot was.
"Elliot... thank you..."
Her words brought a soft smile to his face.
"You're welcome."
"Qiqi... wants to... repay Elliot..."
Pure and simple as she was, Qiqi understood the importance of gratitude.
She lowered her head, deep in thought, as if trying to come up with something.
"Seeing Qiqi happy is the best thanks I could ask for," he said with a warm smile.
But it seemed Qiqi had come up with her own idea.
She took off her shoes, sat in front of him, her face shy, and lifted her feet slightly.
"Qiqi... can let Elliot... look at... my feet..."
Elliot blinked in surprise, then stood up and said,
"I'm not going to look at your feet. Let me teach you flexibility exercises. If you learn them, that'll be enough of a thank-you."
"Okay~"
He began teaching her some simple stretches—just a few easy movements that would engage most of her body.
"One, two, Qiqi... two, two, Qiqi..."
He even came up with a little chant to go along with it.
Elliot knew Qiqi had trouble remembering things. He'd need to get her a notebook.
But before that, they needed to build a camp.
"Qiqi, let's build our camp," he suggested.
"Camp... is that our home?"
"Uh... yeah, our home. A place to keep us safe from wind and rain."
"That's great... Qiqi's... going to have a home..."
Thanks to her Vision, Qiqi was incredibly strong—cutting down trees was effortless.
Elliot, on the other hand, had lost his Vision and only retained Flame Flash.
So Qiqi handled the chopping while he focused on construction.
...
But halfway through, Elliot suddenly heard unfamiliar voices.
"Where'd this little girl come from?"
"It's the middle of the night—she must be lost."
"Hey! There's a talisman on her forehead."
"Holy crap, she's a little zombie?!"
"Idiot, what's so scary about a tiny zombie? Just take her out."
Elliot froze, then hurled a crimson spear toward the sound.
"Flame Flash!"
He vanished on the spot and reappeared at a distance.
Judging by the situation, they were bandits.
No time to think—he rushed over.
Just as he spotted them, a blast of icy wind surged forward.
"Oh right... Qiqi has a Vision. How could I forget?"
The power granted by a Vision was far beyond what any bandit could handle.
Just moments ago, he'd been worried about her—now he was starting to wonder if the bandits were even still alive.
When he arrived, the bandits were sprawled on the ground, half-dead.
Qiqi stood calmly in the middle of them.
"They... were bad guys..." she explained.
"You were amazing, Qiqi." Elliot praised her.
The moment the bandits saw Elliot, they clung to him like he was their savior, begging for mercy.
That little zombie was terrifying—if Elliot hadn't shown up, they might've died right there.
"Leave your Mora and get lost," Elliot said coldly.
"I'll give it, I'll give it! Just don't kill us!"
They dropped a large pile of Mora, then hobbled away, leaning on each other for support.
"Now I can buy Qiqi that notebook," Elliot said happily, eyeing the pile of coins.
He had planned to catch some fish or gather materials to sell, but who knew a bunch of bandits would come bearing gifts?
"What else were we doing...?"
"Sorry... I forgot..." Qiqi apologized softly.
"We were building our home," Elliot reminded her.
"Right... I remember now... we were building... a home with Elliot..."
"Qiqi... is so dumb..."
"Qiqi... can't forget something that important..."
She scolded herself, clearly upset about her memory.
"It's okay, Qiqi. Once we finish building the house, we'll head to town tomorrow and buy you a notebook. You can write down everything important so you won't forget."
"Go to town... buy a notebook... write things down... okay~"
"Let's go finish our house, then we can head out."
"Okay~"
With both of them working together, a simple little cabin in the forest was soon complete.
Though it was rough and humble, Qiqi was overjoyed—every part of it felt brand new.
"Qiqi... has a home now..."
"A home with Elliot..."
"Qiqi... likes it here..."
