Sacrificing Myself: Nine Transmigrations (Genshin Impact)

Chapter 11: The Second Life, Qiqi's Origin

"Ding! Congratulations on successfully completing your first reincarnation."

"Please choose three skills to inherit: Flame Flash, Eight-Faced Fire, Candle Dragon Fire Dance."

At that moment, Elliot found himself transported to a mysterious place, surrounded on all sides by pure white.

He paused for a moment as the notification rang in his ears.

Then, without hesitation, he chose Flame Flash.

Flame Flash was a skill tied to his Vision, similar in function to the Flying Thunder God Technique from Naruto.

No matter the distance, he could instantly teleport next to his weapon.

That was Flame Flash—an incredibly versatile ability. Whether fleeing, rescuing someone, or fighting, it was a god-tier skill.

Eight-Faced Fire, on the other hand, was a large-scale offensive technique with substantial damage output.

But it had major drawbacks—high energy cost and a long cooldown. Using it in a one-on-one fight would be plain foolish.

As for Candle Dragon Fire Dance, there was no need to even consider it. Using it was practically a death sentence. No matter how powerful it was, he would never choose that one.

"You have selected: Flame Flash. Your next reincarnation will now begin."

"Initiation successful!"

"Quest: Help Qiqi gain the ability to survive on her own."

"Transferring you..."

As a blinding white light engulfed Elliot, he opened his eyes to a clear blue sky and the vivid green of tree branches.

A gentle breeze rustled the leaves, and warm sunlight streamed through the canopy in soft patches.

"So this is my second life...?"

He didn't even have time to reflect before being thrown straight into it.

That was... fast. Too fast.

Elliot slowly stood up and looked around. He felt as though something were calling to him.

He followed the small stream and eventually arrived at a familiar place.

This was the cave where Mountain Shaper had sealed Qiqi.

No wonder it felt like something was guiding him—it was the system leading the way.

"So damp... Why is there so much water..."

As he entered the cave, each step created ripples. It was cold and pitch dark...

But Qiqi would probably like it here. She was a zombie, after all, and preferred cold places.

Elliot ventured deeper into the cave until he finally found the amber that held Qiqi.

Qiqi had originally been just an ordinary herb-picking girl in Bulu Village. Long ago, during the war between immortals and demons, she had accidentally broken her right leg and taken shelter in the cave to rest.

While she was trying to bandage her wound, she faintly heard strange, inhuman noises.

Before she could react, the cave collapsed with a deafening roar.

Cold stones came crashing down onto her frail body.

The immortals and demons fighting outside suddenly realized they had harmed an innocent mortal girl.

"So quiet... It hurts so much..."

"Qiqi... is Qiqi going to die...?"

"Qiqi... doesn't want to die."

"Qiqi... wants to go home."

On the brink of death, Qiqi's heart overflowed with emotion—fear of death, longing for life, intense pain, and...

a desperate will to live.

It was as if the heavens had heard her plea—or perhaps they deemed her fate unjust for a mere mortal girl.

At that moment, Qiqi, teetering on the edge of death, received a Vision, which abruptly ended the war.

Out of guilt, each immortal sealed a strand of their power into her body, hoping to revive her.

However...

A mortal body couldn't withstand such overwhelming divine energy. When Qiqi was revived, she lost control.

To subdue her, Mountain Shaper was forced to seal the unfortunate girl in amber.

Once a simple, innocent child, she had been dragged into a battle beyond her understanding—and ended up sealed for centuries.

Elliot gently placed a hand on the amber, which began to melt before his eyes.

When Qiqi was fully released, she slowly opened her large pink eyes.

"Who... am I...?"

She seemed to have forgotten even her own name.

"Your name is Qiqi. You're a zombie. I'm Elliot, and I'm here to help you."

He explained everything in just four sentences.

"I'm Qiqi... a zombie...?" Qiqi echoed softly in her childlike voice.

She stared at Elliot with wide, puzzled eyes.

"You're Elliot... and you're here to help Qiqi...?"

"Yes, that's right," Elliot replied with a gentle smile.

Qiqi looked at him again, then took a stiff, unsteady step.

Elliot immediately noticed something was wrong.

As she stepped forward, her balance shifted dangerously. She was about to fall—

But Elliot, already prepared, lunged forward and caught her just in time.

"Qiqi... can't walk..."

Though startled, Qiqi's expression remained blank—typical of a zombie.

"Qiqi, let me carry you."

He picked her up and hoisted her onto his back.

"Whoa... she's freezing," Elliot thought.

It felt like he was carrying a block of ice.

Qiqi must be feeling too warm from his body heat—it would be uncomfortable for her. He needed to get out quickly.

With that, Elliot quickened his pace.

"So warm..."

Qiqi murmured, not only failing to resist him but hugging him even tighter.

Elliot was slightly surprised but smiled gently.

"Because you're a zombie, your body is stiff—not because you don't know how to walk."

He carried Qiqi out of the cave.

"Qiqi... wants to walk too..."

"Then let's do some stretching exercises."

"What are... stretching exercises...?"

"They'll help Qiqi move freely."

"Okay~ Qiqi likes... stretching exercises..."

Elliot smiled. She must've longed for freedom for a very long time.

He carried her to the forest clearing he had arrived in earlier.

With its mountains, stream, and trees, it was the perfect place to camp.

After setting Qiqi down, he began teaching her familiar radio calisthenics—

Only to find she couldn't even manage the basics.

So Elliot began teaching her by hand.

He carefully held Qiqi's soft little hands and guided her movements.

But her body was stiff, like a rusted screw worn down by a hundred years of wind and rain.

Every joint seemed locked, and with her small frame, Elliot didn't dare apply too much force.

Now he was stuck, frowning in thought.

"Qiqi... can't do... stretching exercises...?"

Qiqi wasn't slow—on the contrary, she was very perceptive.

From his expression, she could tell there was trouble.

"It's okay, Qiqi. It's just your first time, so I'll help loosen you up."

Elliot had a rough idea of what to do.

"Need... Elliot to help Qiqi... loosen up...?"

She didn't seem to quite understand.

"Yeah, leave it to me. I'll make sure Qiqi can move freely."

With that, he laid Qiqi down gently on the grass.

"Qiqi... trusts Elliot..."

"Good."

Saying that, he took off her tiny shoes, which were barely the size of his fists.
