Chapter 317: Golden Cross
***
The next day.
London Academy of Magic.
Aaron opened a dimensional crack and appeared in Jackson's study, saving him some travel time.
It was ten in the morning, Jackson was not in his study. Aaron guessed that he was teaching a class.
While waiting, Aaron stepped closer to the bookshelf and searched for books that were relevant to the information he was looking for.
There were many things Aaron didn't know about the situation on Earth after 12 years away. He needed the books to fill in the missing information.
He opened a book with the title of the history of mage groups in the World. It was possible that Aaron would get important information when he opened the book.
Aaron sat on the single seat sofa and opened the book sheet by sheet.
There are many histories of famous mage groups founded in several unions, some focus on defense and security, there are also groups that focus on alchemists and science.
The book sheet opened again, Aaron saw a group with a white crest and a golden cross.
Aaron squinted his eyes at the identity of the group, the pattern and colors on the crest were exactly the same as the middle-aged man's brief description last night.
"Golden Cross?" Aaron asked.
According to the explanation in the book, Golden Cross was a group founded in 2145, exactly 10 years after Integrity Knight was founded.
Based on the relationship between the two groups, Golden Cross was certainly a group affiliated with Integrity Knight.
However, in 2210, Golden Cross officially broke away and formed their new group integrity with a specific purpose.
"Is it possible that they kidnapped my mom?" Aaron asked.
When Aaron opened another sheet, there was no additional record of the group. That gave Aaron a mysterious impression of the Golden Cross.
"It's possible that the information in this book isn't very accurate because they rarely make repairs. It would be good if I asked directly to those who might have this information."
Just as Aaron was about to close the book, he was startled by Jackson's study door opening.
It wasn't an instructor or an elder who came in, but a blonde and fair-skinned female student.
Seeing Aaron's mysterious presence in Jackson's study was enough to make her shocked and scared. She immediately asked Aaron's name and reason for being in his teacher's study.
"I'm waiting for Jackson. Are you his student?" Aaron asked, closing the book he was reading.
The woman cleared her throat with a suspicious look, because Jackson had never mentioned that he had a friend who could freely come to his study without permission.
"An Intermediate Mage. How old are you?" Aaron asked.
"24 years old," the woman replied.
"So, you've graduated from this academy and chose to stay with Jackson. Am I right?" asked Aaron, the woman couldn't dodge and could only nod in agreement.
Not long after, Jackson's disciple came again. He was a man with black hair, seemingly wearing a luxurious noble robe to show his status to everyone.
He came into the room and saw the figure of Aaron, the mysterious man who came without permission into his study.
Even so, the two of them couldn't read Aaron's mage tier because it was deliberately hidden by the man.
"Who are you? How dare you come into this place without permission?!" snapped the man, the blonde woman trying to calm her friend down.
"I'm Jackson's friend. Jackson himself let me come as I pleased," Aaron replied, still staring at the man.
"Call him Chief Instructor Jackson. He's in a higher position than you are," the man said, pointing rudely at Aaron.
"Haha!"
"Position and power are not important. What matters most is strength," Aaron explained.
FLICK!
Aaron snapped his fingers, causing magical vibrations to occur throughout the academy building making the students scatter away, thinking it was a big earthquake.
The two Jackson students could only gape in shock, they were pretty sure that the earthquake in this building was caused by Aaron's snap of the fingers.
"Just by snapping his fingers, he can make this place quake," said the blonde woman.
"Who is he exactly?" asked the man beside the woman.
"Don't bother me. You can continue your activities again," Aaron replied.
From outside, the two men saw that the people of the academy were already outside the building, including Jackson.
The man in the cloak opened the window and called out to Jackson, saying that the earthquake was not a natural disaster.
"Tell him to come to his study," Aaron pleaded, obeyed by the man in the robe.
Hearing that Aaron was in his office made Jackson rush into the academy building again. He stepped quickly onto the elevator to reach the third floor, then opened the door to his office.
That's right! Aaron was there, sitting casually on the single seat sofa with his mage group notebook on the table. Aaron's sudden appearance surprised Jackson.
"Why are you here?" asked Jackson.
"I have a dimensional ability, which allows me to teleport easily to some of the locations I've been to," Aaron replied.
Aaron got up, walking over to Jackson with the book. He opened the page to the Golden Cross section and asked Jackson directly.
"Do you know anything about the Golden Cross?" Aaron asked.
Jackson looked down at the book Aaron was holding, then sighed softly as he returned his attention to Aaron.
"The Golden Cross is one of three separatist mage groups known for their ruthlessness. Originally, they were a benevolent group that shared the same principles as the Integrity Knight," Jackson replied.
"However, something happened within their group that caused their principles to change. They are a group that is being hunted by Euronion," Jackson added.
"Are they the ones wearing the white and gold uniforms?" asked Aaron, Jackson cleared his throat.
"What is it?" asked Jackson, curious.
"There was a neighbor near my house who said that she saw my mother talking to one of their members, right before the tragedy happened," Aaron replied.
Jackson was stunned, never having known that before. However, if what was said was true, then it was possible that Miss Lucy's disappearance had something to do with the Golden Cross.
"Are you going to go see them?" asked Jackson, confirming.
"Of course. If they are the main culprits who kidnapped my mother, then I have to go to their main headquarters."
