Chapter 610: World Aggro Passive
As those Trainees got shot to death by the laser gun, Aera continued her speech.
"Our Battleship Lux does not tolerate irresponsible people. It doesn't matter who your goddamn father or mother is. In here, your only identity is Trainee until you can prove your worth." She declared while a few robots entered the infirmary room and began cleaning out the dead bodies.
The blood that was scattered on the floor got cleaned quickly whereas the bodies were discarded through a vent, sending them straight to the galaxy to decompose.
"Now, three severe warnings meant your Trainee life is over. Of course, not everyone would meet their death if it wasn't anything serious like those ones, but it could happen. Therefore, this is your last chance to raise your hand to quit the Trainee Internship."
Shortly after Aera's declaration, those who had received two severe warnings on the spot earlier raised their hands.
Their expression was pale white, clearly frightened by the scene, and with how dangerous their position was, they would rather give up now.
"Anyone else who wants to quit?" Not even glancing at the one who raised their hands, Aera's eyes gaze at those on the left side.
A few seconds later, three more hands were raised while the remaining few gritted their teeth and refused to raise theirs.
Expressionless, Aera then turned her focus to the right side, her eyes wandering around before pausing on Xu Feng.
Her lips curled upward as she took a step forward and pointed at Xu Feng.
"You, are you not planning to give up, Michael?" Aera asked amusingly.
"I remember you talking to me about how you're not committing insubordination, but I'll be assisting Supervisor Harvey temporarily. In other words, my post is currently within the Medical Division which you are going to be under my authority." She continued, clearly warning Xu Feng that now was the time to give up and avoid her abuse of power.
Unfazed by the warning, Xu Feng calmly responded, "If you have verification and proof that you have been temporarily assigned to the Medical Division. Then naturally, I would adhere to your command no matter what. But before you show me any proof, I still won't have to report to you. As for giving up? I didn't come here after much difficulty just to raise my hand and throw all my effort into the garbage."
Aera smirked at his attitude and continued to glance at the other Trainees near him. "Roy, I recall you telling me to run a mile earlier. So how about you run 10 miles once this meeting is over?"
"I'm under Supervisor Harvey's leadership. If he tells me to run 10 miles then 10 miles it is." Roy replied, his expression firm. Read new adventures at My Virtual Library Empire
"You're not going to give up the internship?" Aera pressed on.
Roy shook his head. "From day one of filing for the internship, I've already known what was to be expected of me. My expertise in medicine can help Battleship Lux and in return, I'll have enough money for my family's survival. It's a win-win situation."
"Very well." Aera clasped her hands and began picking a few more Trainees on the right side, asking or subtly threatening them whether they still wanted to remain or leave.
Without exception, all Trainees on the right side were determined to stay, even with the threat that their lives would be worthless.
Sometime later, Aera reported to Harvey and said, "7 Trainees wanted to quit, with 3 of them having received 2 severe warnings already."
Harvey nodded and declared, "These 7 Trainees shall receive another severe warning for trying to quit halfway through the internship program."
After his declaration, the 3 Trainees who remembered they had 2 severe warnings, panicked. This was especially so when they noticed the same assistants behind Harvey were about to raise their laser guns.
Instantly, one of them gnashed their teeth, "To hell with your lies!"
They then dashed out and began rushing to the Trainees situated on the right sides. Without a doubt, he had directed his main anger on these trainees who got off scot-free just because they dared to go against a higher-ranked crew.
How was it fair that he got punished for obeying a higher-ranked crew as the lowest rank?
As his eyes tried to search for the target, he then recalled the person that Aera spoke first: Michael.
'Oh, you've got to be kidding me, right?' Dumbfounded, Xu Feng wondered which bastard designed such a ploy to have this sudden berserk Trainee choose him out of everyone here.
Did he have some world aggro passive active?
Nevertheless, seeing the Trainee rushing toward him, Xu Feng easily dodged his strike and raised his leg up high, giving the latter a fierce kick right on his abdomen.
The Trainee coughed up from being kicked fiercely, but Xu Feng wasn't done. He proceeded to use a syringe that was available in his inventory and injected it on the Trainee.
As the content inside the syringe was injected, the Trainee's eyes turned hazy, and his limbs tensed up.
Another second later, the Trainee's entire body froze up and collapsed to the ground.
"Is he dead?" Aera furrowed her brows and questioned. Despite this, her tone didn't seem displeased or mad that Xu Feng killed the aggressive Trainee.
"No, I've just paralyzed his body." Xu Feng explained and continued. "With him paralyzed, the threat is eliminated and you're free to depose him or use him as a lab experiment."
Suddenly, the atmosphere became silent after Xu Feng made his suggestion public.
Lab experiment!
The term itself was already daunting enough, given how everyone present knew precisely who the lab rat was going to be.
"Hahahaha!" Amidst the silence, one person suddenly started laughing and praised. "You've got guts, Trainee… Michael. I didn't expect you to suggest something when you could be a part of them."
Nobody dared to rebuke what the person said, mainly because it was none other than their Supervisor, Harvey.
Only Xu Feng managed to smile and stare Harvey straight in the eye. "I won't have to worry about those severe warnings that are being handed out because it can't come to me."
