Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 562: EXP Buff

With the revelation of the Honorary Elder rank and how it was even higher than Guild Commander, Lightning Blade nearly fainted on the spot.

Not from shock, but from fear. After all, he had to report to someone in that high of a position.

Who wouldn't be frightened? It was the equivalent of the big boss of your boss wanting to see you.

And this was knowing the fact that he was in trouble because of his damnable cousin.

"I swear that I'm going to thrash that son of a motherfu—" Lightning Blade paused and didn't complete his sentence, given that it was pointless to talk about it.

Instead, he turned to his two guild mates and said, "I'm afraid that I'll need to be away for a while and can't grind."

"No worries." FreeLancer understood the situation and didn't mind delaying the grind for a while.

As for Skyfire Mist, he simply patted Lightning Blade's shoulder and said, "Don't worry, Blade. I'll gladly hoard the rewards if you get kicked out."

"Why don't you go bang your head against a wall?" Rolling his eyes, Lightning Blade then used a Return Scroll and left the field.

With Lightning Blade leaving the field, Skyfire Mist glanced at FreeLancer before he suddenly realized something.

"Crap, I have a cousin that wants to join because I bragged about my achievement." Skyfire Mist's facial expression turned ashen white as he hurriedly bid farewell to FreeLancer.

A second later, Skyfire Mist logged out of the game, leaving FreeLancer only.

"Welp, I don't have such cousins." FreeLancer shrugged and decided to find another map for him to grind. He didn't have to get worried about being implicated because of relatives or siblings considering he was a shut-in person anyway.

Riverwood Town

At the town, Xu Feng and Allison were casually strolling down the streets, with him explaining some of the basics. As for Clara, she left them temporarily to explain the circumstances regarding the people she had detained earlier.

Naturally, Xu Feng didn't mind waiting a bit longer, given that he was waiting for Lightning Blade to crawl to his location soon and explain what they were thinking.

And with that in mind, Xu Feng patiently explained something critical for Allison to learn.

"The Tavern over there is a good place for lodging." He said and pointed at the somewhat busy tavern.

"Lodging?" Allison raised an eyebrow. "Is that tavern not for eating and filling our satiety only?"

"Yes and no." Xu Feng pondered for a bit and replied.

"Oh, how so?" She asked curiously, clearly intrigued by what other significance there was about the tavern.

"Food is naturally important in the Divine World to maintain our health, given that it's realistic and we feel full in the real world as well when eating. This is why lots of foodies buy a virtual helmet or gaming capsule as well, but the main point of the tavern is not food, but the EXP percentage gain." Xu Feng clarified the actual significance of a tavern.

"EXP percentage gain?" Startled, Allison seemed as if she had been enlightened, but her very next question made it obvious that she clearly hadn't researched the correct data.

"Is this EXP percentage gain skill very strong and allow us to one-shot monsters?" She flashed an enthusiastic look.

Seeing that, Xu Feng couldn't even find the heart to reprimand her coldly. Her enthusiastic expression meant she genuinely believed it was a powerful skill, and Xu Feng also knew that she barely dabbled in any game.

Even in the past timeline, it took Allison a very long time to join the Divine World.

Hence, he was still slightly alarmed when he learned that Allison wanted him to tutor her. The butterfly effect was truly coming in strong despite how much he wanted to avoid it from occurring.

Xu Feng adjusted his glasses and took his time explaining what the term meant.

"EXP percentage gain means a boost in how many experience points we will gain when killing a monster. It's a major factor in why lots of players were able to reach a high level."

"Oh, so isn't that really OP?"

Allison's eyes sparkled and continued with her inquiry, "Doesn't that mean I can reach the mainstream players' level if I have this EXP percentage gain buff?"

"Yes, that is possible, but the buff duration and effectiveness also depend heavily on where you get it." Xu Feng mused. "The tavern over there only gives a 10% increase in experience points and lasts for only 15 or 30 minutes."

"It's not consistent?" Feeling a bit disheartened, Allison realized it would be unrealistic to believe she could catch up with such inconsistency.

"Mhmm, you have to get lucky. It's all RNG." Xu Feng nodded in agreement.

"NPC Taverns are randomized and heavily rely on luck, but if you enter a player's established tavern or hotel, then it's fixed. The only difference was how upgraded the establishment was." He added, feeling quite proud of his hotel and tavern.

Due to the large amount of gold coins flowing in, he was able to upgrade them all to a decent level. The tavern could buff players 15% extra experience points gained and last for 30 minutes.

However, the hotel could buff players with a whopping 20% experience points for 30 minutes.

Although the difference was only 5% and didn't seem much at a glance, the effect would show further the longer the player grinded.

Now that Allison had been enlightened, she hurriedly explained. "Then let's just enter the Tavern and leave. We just enter for the buff and go somewhere else." Find more chapters on My Virtual Library Empire

"You would have thought!" Xu Feng laughed heartily as he found her quite naive in her early stage. Back then, he met her quite late and she already had some decent knowledge of the Divine World, so the current Allison was truly a sight to behold.

"Did you think the world gives you free lunches?" Xu Feng smirked and retrieved a few silver coins. "To gain the buff, you must first be able to rent one of the rooms. Otherwise, you can't even get buffed at all."
