Chapter 561: Honorary Elder
When Lightning Blade revealed that he got demoted, both Skyfire Mist and FreeLancer remained clueless at his remark.
"Demoted? Did you regress in level or what?" Skyfire Mist raised an eyebrow and asked in disbelief.
"Did you try to jailbreak something and get punished by the System?" FreeLancer chimed in and inquired.
Without a doubt, the possibility of Lightning Blade being demoted in the guild rank didn't cross their mind one bit. After all, they had contributed tremendously to the raid and gained a lot of Guild Merit Points to be promoted to an official member.
Once promoted, it would be hard to be demoted unless they violate any of the Vanguard Guild's rules, which none of them have violated.
"I didn't regress or get punished by the System." Lightning Blade plopped to the ground and nearly cried out in tears.
"Check the Guild's ranking and see my rank…" He then uttered, feeling as if life had been toying with him.
"The guild rank?" Perplexed, Skyfire Mist and FreeLancer looked at each other before opening the Guild's Rank.
Sure enough, when they saw how Lightning Blade's original rank as Member had changed to Junior Member, they were dumbfounded.
"What the heck?" Skyfire Mist shouted in alarm. "Did the higher-ups make some mistake when changing some of the guild members?"
"This could be a possibility." FreeLancer nodded, finding the reasoning logical.
"There are many GMP and RP to be handed out, so it could simply be a mistake. They will probably fix it once they spot it or we can report the matter."
Despite their collective effort in trying to console his emotion, Lightning Blade knew it was over.
"I doubt it's any mistake." Lightning Blade's expression was filled with sorrow as he told them, "Open up the Game Forum. It's being quite explosive right now."
Shortly after Lightning Blade said that, Skyfire Mist suddenly narrowed his eyes and used his strongest attack against the monster that was trying to sneak attack them.
With how sorrowful and unmotivated Lightning Blade was, he knew the grind was going to end now unless he figured something out.
"I just want to see what is going on." He then exclaimed loudly and opened up the Game Forum to check the situation.
After browsing for a few seconds though, Skyfire Mist's mouth was left agape, his eyes blinking a few times.
"No, this can't be." He laughed awkwardly, closed the Game Forum, and reopened it again. When the content remained the same, he tried to refresh it, only to realize more posts started popping up.
"I recalled you mentioned your cousin joining the Divine World after hearing your feat. This person, Thunder Sword can't be the same one as your cousin, right?" At this moment, FreeLancer twitched the corner of his mouth and asked Lightning Blade.
Having the same in-game name was common, but there were still ways to distinguish them from each other. Hence, so long as Lightning Blade could prove that the Thunder Sword was not his cousin, then everything would be fine.
Unfortunately, Lightning Blade's last glimmer of hope had vanished when he received two new messages. Previously, he was busy grinding with them so he didn't check his messages.
However, one of the message senders repeatedly spammed him so when he finally lost his patience, he opened it, only to end up regretting.
Apparently, his cousin truly loved to follow his footsteps and managed to get himself detained. Yet the biggest difference between them was the cause of why they got detained.
'I got detained in the past because I undressed in public since I got some new equipment, and ended up being called out by some NPCs. But my cousin provoked the higher-ups in my guild and even got me involved.' Lightning Blade felt like life was toying with him.
When he was a newbie, he didn't realize the NPCs were so realistic and almost human-like, so he undressed without a second thought about obtaining new equipment.
But still, his detainment only lasted for 3 days because it was his first offense and the NPC guards understood he didn't mean any harm.
He never even attempted to bully or oppress anyone, so where the hell did his cousin learn to become a tyrant?
At this moment, when Lightning Blade finished reading his cousin's messages, he nearly wanted to strangle the latter in real life. After all, besides his message, there was also one that he had been dreading to open— the sender's name being listed as Lin Feng.
'Guild Leader Lin Feng tasked Cool Wind with the bullying incident involving the Vanguard Guild and this good cousin of mine decided to deliver himself. As if that's not enough, he even dragged me down!' Lightning Blade swallowed a mouthful of saliva nervously as he opened Lin Feng's message.
And the message was rather simple and straightforward.
Lin Feng: Manage your cousin, Thunder Sword well. If there's a next time, you can leave the guild on your own or be kicked out. I have assigned Cool Wind, who is the honorary elder of the Vanguard Guild to investigate the matter. You are to report to him as soon as you receive this message.
"Hey, have any of you heard of an honorary elder, Cool Wind?" Lightning Blade smiled bitterly and asked his fellow guild mates.
Both Skyfire Mist and FreeLancer looked baffled as they shook their heads simultaneously.
"No, I've only heard of Shadow Blade previously since he was in the guild rank list," FreeLancer responded honestly. Shadow Blade only revealed himself during the large-scale raid. After that, it appeared that he went away again to do some other tasks.

"The honorary elder seemed to be a custom rank." Skyfire Mist said, expressing his thoughts on the matter.
"A custom rank?" Confused, FreeLancer opened up the guild ranks, and sure enough, in between the Vice Guild Leader and Commander rank was the Honorary Elder rank.
"Wait, doesn't that mean this Cool Wind is an even higher rank than Lunar Wraith and Shadow Blade?" Shocked to the core, FreeLancer felt goosebumps on his arms.
