Reincarnated into a Doomed Novel as an Unknown Extra

Chapter 91: Where Is My Daughter?

The combat test had ended, and we all left the preparation room, returning to our normal life.

Well, not all students returned. There was a test for mana and aether studies which some students like Liora and Arthur were attending , but it wasn't watchable like the combat test.

Anyway, I had now 2 options to spend my time until my next test. I could either return to Elyndra, or keep exploring the academy with only Selene while confirming some things.

Of course, I chose the latter. Especially that I got some money after getting a certain message.

"3 wrong answers? How?!" Walking beside the glowing Selene, I shouted in frustration.

I was sure of all my answers. How could 3 of them be wrong?

Seeing the examiner's note, my frustration only increased.

"If my answers are correct, and I know they are correct, and they know that they are correct but summarized, then why do they consider them wrong?!"

I felt like a physics major student that failed because they forgot to add /s in the end!

Selene suddenly shook my shoulder. "I got a full mark!"

I looked at her bracelet, and yes, she got a full mark with the examiner's note being "Perfection".

Damn… I knew that it was due to that favouritism. I just couldn't prove it.

Without a change in my face, I patted Selene's head. "You did a good job. But don't be so proud of it, or you may become arrogant like Zephyr."

"Mhm!"

Suddenly, Aria's voice rang in my head.

—We will talk about what you did in your fights later. I have seen everything.

'Wait, what do you mean?'

….

'Aria?' I called her again, but there was no answer.

I was happy that she got some time to see my performance, but why did her tone seem a little angry? I couldn't remember doing anything wrong.

'Haa… I'll know later anyway.'

After that, we kept exploring the academy together as I made mental notes for all the places we visited.

The entire academy was separated into 3 parts. Outer part, inner part, and the main building was an entire part itself.

In the outer part, there were only 4 secured gates that could teleport into and outside the Exalted Academy.

In the back of the spatial gates, there was a huge forest. It separated the land of the Exalted Academy from Elyndra as a whole. It was also the only place where students could find monsters and dungeons other than some dungeons in the academy's main building.

According to the information in the guidebook, the forest and the unexplored dungeons inside of it contained monsters from tier 1 to tier 5, with the difficulty increasing the further you go inside.

Of course, I wasn't planning to go inside before getting access to the missions. But that's a matter for another time.

Leaving all these dangers and returning to the inner part, it was surrounded with huge walls with many guards securing them.

What was its purpose? It was basically a market.

The students could rent some lands or buildings to open their own businesses. Thus, the inner academy wasn't any different from a real city except that it was selling magical products.

There was a general shop from the academy too that could be accessed with the bracelet. It contained general things like renting dorms or facilities inside the academy's main building, renting some lands or buildings, and buying high-quality products, but the latter were too expensive for a first-year student like me.

After exploring about 10% of the market — ignoring the attention we were getting from Selene's glowing— my mind settled on one conclusion.

"I need too many EC. Everything here is too expensive." I said with a grim expression.

Selene nodded to me in agreement.

"Thankfully, I'll be living with my father. He will buy anything for me." She tried to tease me, but I didn't react. I had expected something like that.

"Haa… I think that's all for today. I need to sleep and prepare for tomorrow's test."

"Oh…" She hesitated for a moment before saying: "Ah… can we meet again after 2 days then…? We still have too much to explore."

"Hmm." I thought for a moment. "Yeah, why not. I'll be free at that time."

Selene's eyes lit up. "Ahem… I'll be waiting then. I have chosen only combat mastery as my primary profession, so I'll be free."

She then waved to me as she moved away. "Bye."

"Bye…" I waved back to her.

When she left my sight, all the emotions faded away from my face, replaced by internal excitement.

'Tomorrow, I'll kill for the first time in this world. Hehe… it's been a very… long time.'

I read only the free chapters, but who said they didn't contain useful information?

There was a girl that was helping Drax to hide in the original novel, and while exploring the internal academy with Selene, I confirmed it, that girl was still working with the demons.

That girl was the only way I had to start reducing the dangers of the academy, and I was planning to give her… a small visit.

On one of the sides of the inner academy, just a little far from the wall, I entered a small inn.

Due to its location and state, it was the cheapest thing I had found, yet, a day there cost 15 EC.

The hotel I rent in Elyndra cost me only 20 EC for a week! This place was a pure scam.

"What about a small discount?"

"No."

In the inn, I was having a small conversation with the worker there.

He was a dwarf with short brown hair and brown eyes. Unlike most novels, not all dwarves here weren ugly short vikings with beards.

The majority of them were… lolis. I think that's the best description for them. Just small muscled male and female lolis with some anger issues.

"Look, little boy." I smiled at him. "You said that you have heard about my new reputation, right? Imagine when my title as the Black Devil spread even more, wouldn't more students want to try this bar after knowing that I live here?"

I found out that I became a little famous as a black devil for some reason, so I wanted to use that.

I slammed the counter. "Imagine it! The money! The high reputation! All that by only giving me a small discount!"

I waited for him to give me a good discount, but for some reason, his expression was fixed on something between anger and disgust."

Suddenly, with his little fists, he slammed the counter even harder than me.

"Who do you call a little boy! You racist bitch, I'm 19! No discount! If you want something like that, then wait until the manager comes."

I tried to argue, but he slammed the desk again.

"NO!!"

"...."

"Tsk, fine!" I accepted my fate. "I'll send you 90 EC for 6 days."

I forced myself to send him the money before heading to my room, ignoring his offer for buying a drink.

Screw alcohol!

I entered my room and closed the door. It was much better than the one I had rented in Elyndra, and even had a good bed, so I was a little satisfied.

Falling on the bed, I summoned my egg for her daily feeding.

'Did you miss me? Sorry, daddy was too busy today.'

I kissed her and began to feed her my aether.

I expected it to end quickly like any other day, but suddenly—

*CRACK!*

My eyes widened as the egg began to shatter.

'Is… is it finally the time?'

Immediately, I made 3 barriers around us. One of pure mana, one of lightning, and one of wind to hide any sound.

I continued feeding her with a wide smile, and after a moment…

*Bam!*

A wide hole suddenly appeared in the egg as a surge of information entered my head.

'Here she is! Here she is!' I was so excited seeing my spirit taking her first steps outside the egg.

But suddenly, my smile froze.

"DaDdY… Da… Ddy." A small creature said with a shaking, deep, horrifying voice.

I stared in disbelief at the piece of 10 fused tentacles crawling on my arm.

It was a mix of azure and pitch black. It had one tentacle ending with an azure eye while the other 9 ended with small mouths that had black sharp teeth.

Somehow, I could feel its emotions of joy and excitement.

That thing… wasn't the cute daughter I was expecting. It was something filled with hunger and bloodlust that it didn't even try to hide.

And it was a male! I got scammed! There was no hope in him having a cute humanoid form anymore!

Suddenly, all his 9 mouths began talking in unison: "FeEd…me…" his lips —all of them— curled into wide smiles.

"...DaDdy."
