Chapter 80: Main Characters [2]
Arthur and Elara, the protagonist and his twin sister. Despite being twins, there was almost no shared talent between them.
Arthur was the most talented son in the royal family in the combat aspect. He had absolute talent in all types of swords and in mana control. His only affinity was solar, which held the power of absolute destruction, self healing, and slightly good in healing others.
And with all that, he had a trait that made his talent and affinity even stronger. Unfortunately, he didn't have a soul-bound artifact.
Elara, on the other hand, was born blind and physically weak. She had a perfect talent for rune-inscribing and forging, but only peak mana control and didn't have a talent for any weapon at all.
Her affinity was Holy, which unlike light, solar, and divine, didn't have any known attacking spells. All she could do was make some barriers and give buffs for her allies. She wasn't useless, but was too weak.
Thankfully, Arthur wasn't a scum that would abandon his sister. The first chapters of the novel showed how much he cared about Elara and many scenes about him protecting her from some bullies.
She also promised to become the greatest artifact maker and make him a sword better than any soul-bound artifact to help him to become the best king.
Well… screw all that!
The 2 people sitting behind me weren't like this anymore.
On my right, Elara was sitting behind the window instead of Liora who was now sitting on my left. Her eyes were currently anything but blind, and even though her dress wasn't showing it, her muscles couldn't hide from my senses.
And let's not talk about the shining angel sitting between us. I could barely open my eyes because of that bastard!
Rubbing Elara's head, Arthur looked at us and bowed his head slightly.
"Thank you both for letting us sit here. My sister really loved the scene outside, and as you can see, there are no other windows..."
"It's okay." Liora answered blankly, but I could see a hint of regret in her eyes.
I shook my head. "No need to thank me. It's not a big deal."
Well, she got her sight recently, so I could understand her.
I knew that they both were gambling on Yami. Arthur didn't even try to hide it by naming himself the solar prince, and Elara probably was who made the random name because either she was blind there and couldn't see, or she had sight but couldn't read.
Anyway, I was happy for both of them. If they got stronger then Eldoria had a higher chance to win the war.
I continued observing the door, ignoring the students who were looking at us and Zephyr's calls, until an elf girl entered the hall.
She had long bright green hair and a pair of green eyes. She was also one of the main characters and a genius alchemist, Morgana White.
I narrowed my eyes as I saw her shirt. In the shirt's front and back, the line "Stop The War" was written in big, bold font.
'She is one of them, haa…'
After what happened in the land of challenges, some people started demanding a complete stop for the war.
To be honest, I couldn't blame them. They had seen Demons and Eldorians living together without troubles. And with the existence of the aether core that could absorb both mana and anti-mana, some hope sparked within them.
I let out a breath as I crossed my arms.
'I'd like to see some peace too… but it isn't that simple.'
Hours passed as more students entered the hall, filling it with the sounds of whispers and getting more people gazing at us.
Well, I was literally sitting beside a living sun so I couldn't stop their curiosity.
*BAM!*
Suddenly, someone kicked the door as 3 figures entered the hall, capturing the attention of everyone.
"Zephyr Stormblade! Why did you kick the door!"
"Ahem… it looked faster this way."
'Oh… of course it's him.'
One from the teachers yelled at Zephyr. I was going to hide my face, hoping that he wouldn't notice me, but just then, I noticed the figure beside Zephyr and Celestia.
My eyes widened in shock instantly.
'Wait wait wait! What is she doing here!'
A beautiful girl with long silvery-white hair and gleaming, silver moon-like eyes.
She was Selene, the girl that was disguised as a cat and kept chatting with me since then. She was now standing beside Zephyr and Celestia without any horns or wings.
But she wasn't supposed to be here. She had an exemption from the academy due to her race… right?
She seemed to notice me as she pointed in my direction to Zephyr and Celestia.
'Damn! I don't know that embarrassing bastard. Don't lead him to me!'
Unfortunately, I could only scream inwardly as they sat on the seats in my back. There were some people sitting there but Zephyr just threatened them to make them leave.
Zephyr gave me a sharp stare as he mocked: "Hoho… so that's why you weren't answering my calls! You are blinded by the lamp beside you after all."
"Excuse me?!" Arthur turned his head sharply and looked at Zephyr in the eyes.
"Did I hurt your feelings, little bird?"
"You bitch! Stop that!" I put my hand on his mouth immediately, stopping him from saying anything else.
I had finally met the protagonist after 18 years! and here that guy was trying to ruin everything!
Ignoring his surprised look, I turned my head at Selene. "And you! What are you doing here?!"
She turned her head away, trying to hide her smile. "I-I wanted to make it a surprise… Nice to meet you again…"
"She isn't lying." Celestia confirmed Selene's words with her trait.
I returned to my seat and sighed. "We will talk about this later… and Zephyr, I have just got some friends, so don't insult them!"
"Friends…? me?" Arthur's lips curled into a happy smile.
"Friends? YOU?!" Zephyr's eyes widened in disbelief.
'That… hurts a little…'
For some reason, I couldn't make any friends in the past years. His shock was a little understandable.
A single tear left Zephyr's eyes which he wiped with a smile. "You grew up… I'm so proud of you, Ray."
For a brief moment, I had the urge to kill him. Maybe I didn't do it in the end because of my trait.
Liora, Arthur and Elara looked at me with some sympathy and understanding, as if they knew the feeling of having no friends.
'I'll kill that bastard someday!'
*BAM!*
All of a sudden, one of the teachers suddenly hit the table, silencing all the chatting in the class.
"All students are here, so we will start the general test early. If you haven't chosen your professions yet, then do it now! You have 10 minutes."
"Crap! Raylin! Help me choose something." Zephyr shouted as he showed me his bracelet.
I helped him quickly, then he added Arthur, Elara and Liora to our group chat after deleting all the old chats.
There were… too many things that had to get erased…
A moment later, a piece of paper and a pen materialized in front of everyone.
"You have half an hour to finish it before you attend your primary professions tests. This test won't affect your ranking but it has some rewards."
I took the pen and fixed my focus on the test with a smile.
My father made me stop my education in my past life, so I was a little happy to see a test again.
Additionally, the test was about general knowledge that they had sent to us earlier. It couldn't be that hard.
Reading the first question, I began to answer.
