Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World

Chapter 276: Against The Primordial Lion

"Aziza?" Exalon frowned.

Many of them were familiar with the name Aziza. As Lion Kings, they knew more about the details of what happened during the war, including some details.

Noel had many sons and daughters, and although he was burdened with the sun of his predecessor, he still had the time to get frisky with his lionesses and fathered many children.

Among his children, some had risen to be great figures. Some remained in Noel's clan and worked for their father as Lion Princes, others went out on their own or were chased out and became Lion Kings.

Aziza was one of the sons who left the clan to become a Lion King of his own, establishing the Tonari Clan.

Aziza may have not been the strongest of his brothers and sisters but he was the most mysterious. He was a chimera, a lion who had more than one power, a mutated Lionheart.

The closeness between Noel and Aziza was known. It was said that Aziza was the only son that Noel felt he could trust wholeheartedly without any strings attached.

During the battle with the dragons, Aziza had not participated for some reason and Noel had not pressed on for him to do so. Many suspected that something was being planned but that was it.

Noel died, Aziza was devastated and retreated into seclusion. He disappeared from the Leonine Heaven entirely without leaving any hint of his whereabouts.

Even more surprising was that Noel's Heavenly Beacon had also vanished mysteriously.

Since then, no one has heard of Aziza till now. The last surviving son of Noel also died.

As Xu Ying told them of the messages Aziza had left behind, an atmosphere of melancholy spread around the hall. Even the Lion Kings who were just arriving could feel the sunken mood of their colleagues.

Only the Lion Kings who didn't like the Primordial Lion like Ma'abu remained calm. They couldn't care less.

Exalon sighed, how low they had gotten. The rumors that a civil war was brewing might as well be true.

He could see it from where he stood, the Lion Kings were divided into three groups. Those who supported the Primordial Lion and wished to find him to help him out and bring the lion civilization to its former glory. Exalon was part of this group.

There were those who were just neutral and were not yet sure whether they should support the Primordial Lion or be against him. King Larvis and most of the Cross Claw Alliance members were in this group.

Then there were those who were completely against the Primordial Lion and whatever he stood for. Even though the Primordial Lion tended to bring mysterious benefits to the whole civilization.

The Primordial Lion was an agent of change, but history has shown that this change was not always a good thing.

The stupid change that Derylia tried to bring was the reason there was so much tension between lions and dragons to this day.

They didn't want to give Kael a chance to prove himself, they didn't want the mysterious benefits he might bring. They had maintained the stability of the lion civilization for so long without the Primordial Lion, they saw no need for him now.

They sought to eliminate him fast before he made a horrible mistake like Derylia had done.

Kael was a threat to the stability they had worked so hard to maintain and he had to be eliminated as soon as possible.

Ma'abu was in this group, and seeing as his son, Wadolius, had died because of Kael. It was safe to say his desire to eliminate Kael had become a personal matter.

That King of Kings title was starting to seem extra offensive as of now.

With this analysis in mind, Exalon started thinking of preparations to make. The benefits brought by the Lion System were a good enough reason for him to support the Primordial Lion.

But Exalon still felt that the Primordial Lion had to be watched, protected, and properly educated. He needed capable Lion Kings to advise and guide him.

Xu Ying continued narrating his experience with Kael. He told them of Chloe's apparent shift in allegiance.

Kael absorbed Noel's heavenly beacon and kept the other heavenly beacon for himself, but also allowed Xu Ying and his group to escape without harming them.

Adolf's personal experience as Kael's short-time prisoner was briefed over and Adolf refused to say anything about it. It didn't matter how intense Ma'abu and the others' gaze were, Adolf refused to speak the details.

He only said that Kael released him so that he could deliver the message to Xu Ying.

Many Lion Kings had questions, if Kael had intended for Xu Ying to take the heavenly beacon, why was Alora with it?

Xu Ying went silent, not knowing if he should speak on the details of the transaction or not. Kael had said that he could ask Alora to help him get his own heavenly beacon, so it was in his best interest that no one knew of the deal Alora made with Kael.

But even if he did not say anything, what about the others? Adolf, Orion, Thawne, King Larvis's grandchildren, and the others, had been present at that time.

"I made a deal with Kael," Alora spoke up for herself.

"What kind of deal?" King Ma'abu asked, his eyes narrowing dangerously.

"Obedience," Alora stared truthfully, "I'm to serve the Primordial Lion for a limited amount of time and the incentive he offered was the heavenly beacon," Alora said, completely twisting the context and details of what had happened.

None would know that the transaction was deeper than they thought.

"And because you were willing to serve him for a limited amount of time, he gave you the heavenly beacon?" One of the Lion Kings of the Cross Claw Alliance asked. It was his clan that Xu Ying belonged to.

Alora nodded, "Yes, Xu Ying was not willing to accept such conditions so I stepped up to take the offer. I sacrificed my freedom to ensure that we came back to heaven, and yet, I'm being asked to compensate…"

Xu Ying and the rest prevented their mouths from hanging down. This Alora was such a good liar, if this could be called a lie at that.

There were no flaws in her words because she wasn't really lying at all, she just twisted the context to make it sound like a self-sacrifice.

Alora had her head facing the ground, her blue eyes were staring down at her paws, away from everyone and her shoulders hung loosely. She looked tired.

Exalon looked at Alora strangely. His impression of Alora, although good, was not that of a person who could seem so…pitiful.

The edge of King Larvis's mouth twitched, "Is this true?" He asked. His question was so broad that using his spirit powers, he should be able to detect if anyone was lying.

"No," They all responded.

King Larvis didn't detect any lie from them. In fact, it seemed like saying Yes would be a lie.

This realization made him frown, so all they said was the truth.

"What do we do now?" Adolf's father asked.

As soon they heard this question, the Lion Kings began another heated argument with each other.

"I suggest we find him, and kill him before he does any damage," One Lion King said.

"Perhaps, we should wait and…"

"Waiting is for pussies!" Another Lion King exclaimed, "Let's find him and see if he has the balls to lead our civilization."

"King of Kings? What a joke,"

"But, I heard he comes with a lot of benefits for everyone,"

"This is the Primordial Lion we are talking about here, have you all forgotten what he represents?"

"He represents change, we know. The next thing you know, he's falling in love with a winged lizard or a freaking bee!"

"That was a one-time thing!"

"And we're still paying for it, what's your point?"

"Damn, I need to conquer a planet right now if not I won't be able to calm down."

Amidst all the shouting and arguments, some Lion Kings remained calm with a calculative gaze in their eyes.

One of them was Ma'abu. His face was calm as he stared at Alora and Xu Ying. His claws were already out and they pressed against the tiled pedestal he sat on.

Exalon was also quite calm, he looked at all the commotion with a disinterested gaze. To him, all these arguments didn't matter, what mattered was the glory of the lion race and their superiority over all creatures in existence.

That was what he believed in.

*ROAR!*

Instantly, the Lion Kings calmed down once again as they felt themselves getting weaker. They all looked at the grey-furred muscular lion with a black mane.

"Exalon, what is that?" One of the Lion Kings asked.

Exalon stood up assuming his full imposing height. He stepped forward to stand beside Alora and Xu Ying.

"Now that I have your attention, I'd like to bring up something that I feel would be very important to all who may be interested."

With that, Exalon willed his Lion System to appear and immediately inputted the right commands.

Soon after, golden screens began to appear in front of all the Lion Kings present one by one.

"Kindly accept my referral request," Exalon said with a meaningful smile plastered on his face.
