Chapter 275: Recount
A few hours later, Alora, Exalon, and the entirety of Xu Ying's team had settled inside the silver Pyramid.
That had all been given to me to rest even though they didn't actually need it at all.
Currently, they had all assembled inside a big hall along with many other lion kings.
This should have been a private matter for the Cross Claw Alliance but due to the events being related to the existence of the Primordial Lion, many other lion kings had come and insisted on being present.
Now, the Lion Kings of the Cross Claw Alliance had no way of stopping them, unless they wanted King Larvis's pyramid to be destroyed by the frustrated lions.
All the lions present in the hall were In their true lion forms. There were too many rowdy lions present for anyone to lower their guards by even a little bit.
Besides Xu Ying and the others, every lion here was a lion king with their own heavenly beacon. In the whole gathering, Alora who was at tier 4 was the weakest of them all.
And there were currently more than five hundred of them coming in.
One had to know that the Cross Claw Alliance on its own merely had ten lion kings as its members, Exalon wasn't part of it.
Even if they wanted to, there was no way to stop more than five hundred Lion Kings from barging into the pyramid.
And more were still coming.
Meanwhile, Exalon stood by the corner with a golden screen in front of his face and an amused smile on his lion maw.
He stood at a height of three meters, the standard for lions of his tier. But because of his innate abilities of the War Lions, size wasn't much of a thing for him.
As a lion, he had grey fur and a black majestic mane, very contrasting to the grey hair he had when he was in his humanoid form. His muscles bulged and echoed terrifying restrained strength with every movement he made.
While many Lion Kings were talking or arguing amongst themselves, he was busy reading the messages of the Public Chat on the Lion System.
Of course, the golden screen in front of his face attracted the attention of many but they didn't ask about it. After all, it looked like a golden-colored holographic magic screen and unless they checked it well, they wouldn't be able to find out much.
*BAM! BAM! BAM!*
A Magus Lion with some runes glowing on his back and his irises slammed his paw on the ground to get the attention of the Lion King. The heavy sounds managed to get their attention but once they saw that it was this particular Lion, they turned away and continued talking with themselves.
There was no order at all.
Parts of the ground rose up with the Lion Kings on them, setting them on a high pedestal and allowing them to look down on Xu Ying and his group.
The lion who had slammed his paw on the ground just now was Adolf's father and he had an ugly expression on his face.
Exalon, seeing this, felt that he should test something out and see if he could help.
*ROAR!*
A deep roar spread out from the midst of the Lion Kings, gradually causing all of them to become quiet as a look of confusion appeared on their faces.
Exalon's roar was majestic, the sound waves hit their bodies and caused their flesh to vibrate. As expected of a War Lion.
But that was not what they were confused about. After Exalon's roar, they all felt their powers getting weaker and it was very noticeable.
Adolf's father frowned, calculating that his overall power had weakened by ten percent.
Since when did War Lions have this power?
After that, Exalon licked his mouth with a curious gaze and returned his attention to the golden screen in front of him.
'So, it works. Interesting…'
While the Lion Kings were looking at Exalon and seeking an explanation for what just happened, King Larvis took the chance to raise his voice.
"Alora, how do you wish to compensate for this act of yours," King Larvis, a fully grey-furred Lion with piercing grey eyes said.
He sounded like a scholar who had spent most of his life trying to argue with everyone.
"No compensation," Alora said with a calm exterior. She was saying this because she did not have any compensation whatsoever that would satisfy these Lion Kings.
"Hey, forget about this Frost Lioness, we came to hear about the Primordial Lion." Another Lion King shouted out of anger.
It seems as if King Larvis and the Cross Claw Alliance were intentionally shifting the goalpost away from the main topic.
Alora narrowed her eyes, hiding her distaste for the situation she was in. Xu Ying, who stood not far from her, looked over with a mocking expression. Did she think she could just take the heavenly beacon like that?
Among the lions present, a few caught Alora's eye and she had already made eye contact with them.
One of them was a fire lioness, another actual Lion Queen. She and Alora had exchanged glances and had been talking telepathically for a while now.
This Lion Queen, Farsii, came from an Alliance that was made up of Lion Queens only, the Fanged Flower Alliance.
Her intentions were clear. Exalon had made it clear to Alora that she would need to join an Alliance for protection. She knew this before but she hadn't realized how urgent it would be.
From the very start of the meeting, many members of the Cross Claw Alliance had put their minds into exploiting her for everything she had.
And her father, the big white lion with blue eyes and a chill presence, just lay there while observing everything that was happening with an amused expression. He seemed to find his daughter's plight quite entertaining.
"Xu Ying, recount everything that happened on that world now. Don't skip any details."
Ma'abu, the Time Lion of the Cross Claw Alliance, spoke at this moment. Because of Exalon's roar, the lions were less rowdy so his voice was very clear to the five-hundred-plus lion Kings.
Ma'abu looked at Xu Ying and Alora with a calm gaze. His brown fur and dark mane were well kept and he seemed to have been well groomed before coming here.
Of course, Xu Ying was most weary of Ma'abu. Not only was he openly against the Primordial Lion, but his son, Wadolius had also died.
Ma'abu naturally didn't see Wadolius and had made inquiries on what happened. Baba told him everything.
Still, he remained calm, like a clear sky before the storm hit.
It was only now that the Lion Kings all calmed down so that they could listen to Xu Ying.
Xu Ying cleared his throat and opened his mouth to speak.
"We arrived on the planet as it had been arranged, the world didn't reject us for our power…"
Xu Ying began to recount their experience on Eridoria. From the moment they arrived, to their landing on the planet and forming a base.
He talked about how he spent some three months calculating the location of the heavenly beacon that had been detected, only for them to find that it had been an accident.
They discovered that planet Eridoria had two ownerless heavenly beacons in it, instantly if one like they had detected.
Xu Ying Alora told them about their encounter with Isaiah and how his status as an intelligent indigene of the world had been instrumental to them adapting to the new ecosystem.
Isaiah had acted as a personal aid to all of them, attending to their needs and helping them with knowledge about different areas.
Alas, Isaiah had his own hidden motives and had been slowly feeding them lies about a certain lion called Kael who they did not know was the Primordial Lion at this time.
Xu Ying paused to observe the faces of the Lion Kings. As expected, many of them had deep frowns on their furry faces.
Another creature conspiring to turn lions against each other? That was a crime, a serious one.
Xu Ying continued.
He mentioned how they should have known that Isaiah was lying but they didn't. Xu Ying ended up ordering Chloe, Baba, and Wadolius to track Kael down with the aid of Isaiah.
Chloe's grandfather, a skinny fire lion, scoffed.
Xu Ying briefed the result of the fight with Baba as a witness. Kael had been nothing like Isaiah claimed him to be, the Primordial Lion had already claimed the title of king before even getting his own heavenly beacon.
Baba lost a limb, Wadolius died, Chloe was captured and 'forced' to join the Primordial Lion's camp.
Thanks to Xu Ying's preparation, Baba and Xu Ying were able to escape. Only then did they discover Isaiah's revenge-driven actions.
All these events led to Kael and Xu Ying meeting each other inside the pocket dimension.
When the Lion Kings heard about the pocket dimension, they were intrigued, even Exalon was paying close attention.
The Primordial Lion was initially coming for them to have his revenge on Isaiah but he also detected the pulse of the new heavenly beacon and had to delay his actions.
Xu Ying then talked about his encounter in the pocket dimension, from the moment he entered and Thawne having his fortune powers suppressed, to the time he eventually reached the Iron Blood Pyramid.
"...And it turned out that the pyramid belonged to Aziza, one of Noel The Great's sons." Xu Ying said.
Every single Lion had their expression change at the mention of that name.
