Chapter 274: Heaven Is Fine
Hearing those names Alora perked up, the white ears that had been folded against her white hair perked up suddenly.
"You really think so?" She asked.
King Exalon observed the golden screens in front of his face more intensely, his breathing quickened and he seemed fidgety all of a sudden, as though he had something to do.
"Perhaps, we might be able to make a comeback after so many years. I would love to see that day come to pass." Exalon said.
"What's the situation, if I may ask," Alora asked, remembering to be respectful. Even though she had pride, she still had to use her common sense.
Exalon sighed, "Not good, not bad. The dragons are still on standby, waiting for an opening as usual.
None of our forces have been able to infiltrate their bases and come back alive. Their chain of command has been hidden too well."
As an experienced Lion, Exalon already knew the reason why the dragons and the lions were hostile toward each other. It was the same reason many Lion Kings didn't like the idea of a Primordial Lion.
What Derylia did, the child she gave birth to, Sakan's rage. It all accumulated to form this point in time.
Perhaps, if all the parties that had been involved those millions of years ago were dead, the war might have been over.
Unfortunately, one of the major players in that war was still alive in the dragon camp and was ruthlessly pulling the strings with a heart that desired nothing but vengeance.
"...and the Bees?" Alora asked.
"They're as bold as ever," Exalon said, "They have the honey, they are expanding fast, and they are getting stronger,"
Alora's eyes shone, the Bees were one of the races that she admired. A civilization run by queens, it appealed to her sense of self.
The Bees were one of the upcoming civilizations that both the lions and dragons had to be wary of. Most of all, they already had their Primordial Bee Queen.
Everyone wanted their honey, but the Bees were no pushover. They had almost wiped the hornet civilization from the face of a particular galaxy which got them a lot of attention.
If nothing was done, the Bees might soon challenge the might and authority of the lions. Something had to be done.
"We need to get in contact with the Primordial Lion," Exalon said as his eyes narrowed into slits. "I would like to test him myself,"
Alora shook her head, "Unfortunately, there's no way to go back to his planet for now."
"Hmm," Exalon knew this, he just felt that he needed to measure the capabilities of this Primordial Lion up close.
"You can talk to him if you want," Alora said.
"Really?" Exalon raised an eyebrow.
"There should be a chat function,"
"Oh, look, he already chatted me up," Exalon said as he played around with the private chat functions, wearing a bright smile on his face like a child who had found a new toy.
Kael: What's your name?
Exalon frowned, "That's very rude, how old is he?" He said.
"I don't know," Alora said as she looked at Exalon's golden screen to see that Kael had indeed already sent a message to him.
Perhaps, Kael had detected that the new addition was a Lion King and was interested.
Exalon: I'm King Exalon, what's yours?
Kael: King Kael, you're also a Lion King?
Exalon: Yes, so are you.
Then there was silence. No one sent any messages again.
Exalon frowned harder, he had expected Kael to continue the conversation, not ghost him. It seemed Kael just wanted to confirm if he was a Lion King.
Exalon: Where did you get your heavenly beacon from?
Kael: Hmmm.
King Exalon frowned harder, was it that Kael was not interested in talking? What games was Kael playing? Exalon wasn't so used to asking questions and not getting an answer.
Exalon: What tier are you?
Kael: Tier 4.
Exalon: That's nice, you just started out I guess.
Kael: No, started from tier 1.
Exalon paused, his mind going blank for a moment.
Alora who was beside him nodded with a stoic expression, "He seems to have grown in that world from scratch. Probably born from ordinary lions," She said.
Exalon: That's nice, but you know how to fight?
Kael: What kind of question is that?
Exalon: A serious question.
Kael: What kind of lion would I be if I didn't know how to fight?
Exalon: I have to confirm first.
Kael: Confirm what?
Exalon: That you're not a pussy.
Kael: …
A smile crept on Exalon's face, feeling a sense of victory.
The magic shuttle they were standing on was gradually reaching its destination. The floating continent that they were heading to was starting to be filled with magic shuttles that were flying over from different directions.
King Larvis had already connected with King Exalon telepathically and had gotten the gist of what happened.
Xu Ying and his crew had returned and Alora had died with the heavenly beacon. Most of all, it seems the existence of the Primordial Lion was confirmed.
As of now, many lions were making their way to King Larvis's continent, parking their magic shuttles in droves around the silver Pyramid which stood at a height of nearly one kilometer.
Many of them were not from the Cross Claw Alliance and were simply there to confirm what was in their minds. Among them were lions and lion kings who supported the existence of a Primordial Lion and felt that the Primordial Lion's existence would bring the whole civilization to an era of glory.
But there were also lions who came to King Larvis's continent with ill intent.
It was hard to estimate just how many lions currently existed in the Leonine Heaven alone. Trillions, excluding the lions that were not even in heaven at this time.
Kael, oblivious to what was happening in heaven, continued his chat.
Kael: What is your tier?
Exalon: Tier 6.
Kael: Impressive.
Back on Eridoria, Kael sighed. Even the random Lion King that had just joined the system at this time was a tier 6 lion. By his Earth power scaling, that would be a standard country-level buster.
And since this was a Lion King, Exalon was guaranteed to be stronger than any regular tier 6 lion.
Exalon: Impressive? You're still at tier 4.
Kael: How's heaven?
Exalon: What?
Kael: I said how's heaven?
Exalon looked around at the hundreds of magic shuttles descending onto the continent with Xu Ying's magic shuttle. Each of them containing lions with menacing auras.
Humanoids burst out of the doors wearing different attires and spraying their auras blatantly as though they were constantly trying to prove their dominance to each other.
"Where are they? Where is the Primordial Lion? I challenge him, let him prove himself with his blood!" A loud lion shouted as soon as he stepped out of his magic shuttle.
Many lions instantly agreed, they seemed to desire the taste of their Primordial Lion's blood.
Exalon turned back to his golden screen to reply to Kael.
Exalon: Heaven is fine, we all wish you were here.
Alora smiled when she saw the message. How misleading.
Kael: Hmm, that's good. How many of them want to kill me?
Kael seemed to sense Exalon's sarcasm and asked the important question.
Exalon shrugged his shoulders.
Exalon: I don't know, definitely more than you imagine right now.
Kael: Why?
Seeing the question, Exalon sighed. Noel might have been very unlucky but Kael was not too far off. To Exalon, Kael probably knew that many Lion Kings did not like him because of his interaction with Xu Ying and the rest but it was unlikely that he knew why.
After all, most of the things the Lion Kings knew were discussed amongst themselves and kept to each other. Other lions were not privy to the knowledge so Xu Ying and the rest may not be able to satisfy Kael's curiosity.
Exalon was unaware of the memories Kael had inherited from the previous Primordial Lions.
Exalon: Primordial Lion, we shall talk later, stay safe, and stay strong.
Exalon willed the golden screen to disappear as he took a step forward. He raised his hand swiftly and held Alora by her neck.
This action stunned Alora and she instinctively tried to protest. Frost power burst out of her body, freezing the surface of the magic shuttle and causing a layer of ice to cover Exalon's hand.
However, Exalon ignored it. His knees bent slightly and the whole magic shuttle groaned as it struggled to bear the weight of this being.
*BOOM!*
Exalon jumped, shooting off like a bullet. The force of his legs caused the magic shuttle to tilt over to the front before settling down again.
Xu Ying and the rest soon rushed out of the shuttle in shock. The multicolored backdrop of the heavenly void cast a mysterious glow over their faces.
With a resounding slam, Exalon landed on the ground in front of the silver Pyramid. He released Alora, causing her to stumble forward and lose her graceful pose.
"The Lion Kings might not attack you, but many lions would see you as an easy access to their own heavenly beacon.
Didn't you think of this?" Exalon said.
Him jumping to the pyramid with Alora was just his way of protecting her. He was not usually this kind but because of his short interaction with the Primordial Lion, he was in a good mood.
Plus, Alora was the one to introduce him to the Lion System and expose him to Kael. For now, he saw Alora in a favorable light.
Alora rubbed her hand on her neck, that hand could have tried to snap her neck and she wouldn't have been able to resist, "I'll join an Alliance," Alora said.
Exalon nodded his head.
At this time, the wall of the silver Pyramid vibrated as the metal plates began shifting to the side.
An opening was formed and an entrance was created. Standing in front of this entrance was a chubby three-meter-tall lion with a troubled expression on his face.
"Where is Thawne?"
