Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World

Chapter 272: Heavenly Void

Kael: Help is on the way.

Chloe: Oh, really?

Kael: Yeah, the second magic shuttle is coming to your location soon enough, it should help with some issues.

Chloe: Thanks a lot.

Kael: No problem, just make sure to manage the Origin Essence reserves. We don't know when next we'll be getting access to more.

Chloe: Okay, I'll make sure to manage it.

Kael: Oh, and about Katari…

Chloe: It's understandable.

Kael: It will take some time for her to warm up to you. For now, kindly forgive her hostility.

Chloe: Even if I didn't forgive her hostility, I don't think she would care.

Kael: Hmmm.

Kael: Anyways, I just sent Alora and Xu Ying with the others back to heaven.

Chloe: What?

Kael: Yeah, they are no longer on this world. They've all gone to heaven.

Chloe: Oh wow… Did Alora ask of me?

Kael: None of them asked of you, not even Alora. They already know that you're working for me now so there's no point acting like they deeply care about you.

Chloe: But Alora…

Kael: Alora has taken the heavenly beacon for herself. She's now a Lion Queen and may not have the time to worry about you.

At the wild lands, Chloe dropped down from the sky with a downcast expression on her face.

Hundreds of birds, foxes, wolves, and a few lions surrounded her. They were the group that was put together to map the whole continent and find the Arkship in the process of doing so.

Chloe sighed, this was it, she saw it coming. Joining Kael would mean she would be cast aside by Alora.

Alora had never found the idea of becoming a pride leader's consort as appealing as some other lionesses found it to be.

Why would she? She preferred to have the power all to herself.

Chloe's life as Kael's consort was now none of Alora's business and she would subconsciously start to forget about Chloe.

After all, that was part of her nature, to use and discard. Chloe had always known of Alora's extremely bloated ego through their conversations, she just refused to imagine the fateful day would come.

Chloe: How did she get the heavenly beacon? I thought it was meant to be kept by Xu Ying.

Kael: I gave it to her.

Chloe: Why, Alora is not a good person. Xu Ying would have been a better candidate.

Even Chloe, Alora's friend, favored Xu Ying.

Kael: Ideally, Xu Ying would have been a better choice, but no one is good here. I'm not looking at things from an ideological point of view, I am being practical.

Chloe: How? Putting that kind of power in Alora's hands can backfire not just on you but on everyone. You don't know how ambitious Alora is.

Kael: Why don't you tell me?

Chloe: She's an extreme narcissist, a manipulator, cold-hearted, ruthless, more ruthless than any lion or lioness I know of. I'm just fortunate to be her friend.

Her ambitions literally involve her becoming a god and forcing the whole lion race to submit to her.

Kael: Oh.

Chloe: Do you understand what you just did?

Kael: Yes. Looking at it this way, Xu Ying is the best candidate because he is more easygoing but if I'm not wrong, Xu Ying is also one of the few lions that have boundaries and principles.

Chloe: Yes, he is.

Kael: That's the thing, people like that are good to have as allies but not as subordinates.

What if I wanted him to do something that goes against his principles? He'd be conflicted and spend too much time hesitating.

Chloe: …

Kael: But Alora is predictable, like you said, she's power-hungry and I can guide her hunger to serve me.

Think of Alora as the bullet, I am the gun. She only goes where I'm pointing at.

Chloe: A gun?

Kael: Never mind. I'm aware that Alora is dangerous. I've already thought up some countermeasures. In the meantime, we have other things to focus on.

Chloe: *sigh* Okay.

Kael: Remember to give me feedback on all your findings and add as many lions to the Lion System as you can.

Chloe: I will, thanks.

Chloe sighed, ignoring the telepathic chatter of the creatures surrounding her. She decided that she'd wait here for the second magic shuttle to arrive.

She'll use the time to think.

Chloe: Kael, did you add them to the Lion System?

Chloe remembered that the Lion System had been updated and now had a chat feature.

Kael: Yes.

Kael didn't ask, knowing what she wanted to do. He also wants to test something out.

Chloe willed her golden screen to change and she searched for Alora's identity profile.

She quickly found it, she was the only lioness bearing the name Alora in the whole lion system so it wasn't hard to find.

Chloe immediately set up a private chat room.

Chloe: Alora?

There was no response.

Where Kael was, his eyes widened in horror as he saw the amount of Conquering Essence being consumed just for Chloe's message to be sent.

It took a full ten seconds for the message to finally be delivered. With this, the first link with heaven had been created.

Still, even after Kael could see that Alora had received the message, the latter did not respond.

After some more seconds, Alora finally replied.

Alora: I'm busy, talk later.

Chloe could almost feel the chill through the shirt message.

Kael breathed a sigh of relief, after the first message, the consumption of Conquering Essence was reduced by half.

But even then, it was still thirty times more than the Conquering consumed for regular chats on the same planet.

'We need more Conquering Essence,' Kael thought to himself at the destroyed part of the forest.

Conquering Essence was becoming more important in the daily life of the lions and it was all because of the features.

After some thought, Kael started writing some missions on the mission board, allocating some more points for reward.

These points were now called Conqueror Points.

He increased the Conquering Essence reward for referrals by one point. He also decided to write a guide on how to use the features of the Lion System.

At this time, Katari appeared beside Kael. She had delivered the message and N'bayé was already preparing the magic shuttle for auto-pilot transportation.

"Should we go and meet Diane and Zabita? Many creatures would be waking up from their slumber by now," Katari said.

Kael nodded while still keeping his eyes on the golden screen, "Yes, take me there," He said.

Katari then stepped forward and placed her hand on Kael's shoulder. She took control of space and twisted it beyond imagination.

Instantly, she teleported both of them away from the shattered land, disappearing like ghosts.

Leonine Heavenly Realm.

The world here was unlike the real world. There was no structure in place, no sense at all.

Everywhere was a background of multicolored lights. No matter how far one traveled, they would never be able to reach the end with ordinary power.

Continents and celestial bodies drifted aimlessly in the heavenly void, innumerable to the ordinary eye.

On most of these mega continents and spherical celestial bodies, Pyramids dotted the land, giving the whole of heaven a mystical yet futuristic and technologically advanced vibe.

Magic shuttles flew from different areas, flying from one continent to the other.

There was no up or down here, anything could be upside down and the inhabitants would not know unless they escaped the gravitational field of the pyramids and the celestial bodies.

A certain magic shuttle flew through the heavenly void of the Leonine Heaven, quickly approaching one of the mega continents with a single Pyramid being the only artificial structure it had.

Alora stood on top of this magic shuttle with a weary gaze. Her gown fluttered due to inertia. There was no wind in the heavenly void but as long as she was of lion blood, she had no problem surviving here.

Beside her, a tall man, much taller than her stood silently with his arms behind his back.

This man was shirtless and his muscles bulged with horrific strength contained within. Him keeping his arms behind his back caused some of his chest and arm muscles to appear bigger than they were.

He was bald but the hair on the sides of his head was long and draped down to his chest and back.

His face was stern and he had a strong jawline. One of his most defining traits was the white moustache that covered his upper lip.

In his head, blending with the side hair were two grey-furred white ears, and behind him was a grey tail that hung still behind his legs.

Simply standing beside him, Alora felt weak and small. This was because this humanoid was seven feet tall, had broad shoulders, and had the aura of a destroyer.

That's because he was indeed a destroyer, Alora knew him and knew what he was known for. His tongue had tasted the blood of millions of creatures she could only imagine.

His power was immense.

Fortunately or unfortunately, this War Lion humanoid also had a relationship with the Cross Claw Alliance.
