Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World

Chapter 267: Better Deal

This is because of the Limit Seal, a technique that has eluded all of us Magus Lions for many years ever since we saw the dragons use it.

Now, we have gotten it for ourselves. We finally know how to strip any creature of their power and make them…ordinary."

Xu Ying said.

"Is that so?" Kael said. He brought up one on his knees and hung one of his arms on the kneecap.

His eyes then shifted to Isaiah's unconscious form to verify Xu Ying's claim. Indeed, Isaiah had lost a lot of features of his Crane heritage.

Normally, they weren't even that noticeable in the first place. Before he had feathers on his head that were so finely arranged that it was hardly distinguishable from regular hair. And the feathers were long enough to cover where his ears were supposed to be.

He didn't have any human-like ears or animal-like ears, just a hole, similar to most birds.

But now, those feathers seemed to have fully transformed into real hair and Kael could make out some parts of his earlobes poking out.

His nose was now less hooked and pointy and his whole body seemed less…birdy. He still looked like how he usually looked when in his humanoid form, he just seemed more…human.

Human?

Kael's eyes narrowed. Yes, Isaiah now looked exactly like a human. He could even pass as an ordinary adult male human on earth and no one would know.

Kael reached out with his senses, scanning Isaiah's battered body, only to find something shocking.

Isaiah had completely lost his strength. His space powers were gone, as if they never existed.

His power pool had dried up, and even his physical strength had been reduced to that of a regular human. As Isaiah was now, he definitely couldn't match a regular tier 2 lion in terms of combat power.

"What did you do to him?" Kael asked.

Noticing Kael's rising interest, Xu Ying smiled, "We simply put the Limit Seal we had on him.

To be honest, we had prepared that Limit Seal for any enemy we encountered that would be too powerful to handle. It was basically our trump card until Isaiah made us use it on him.

Since we are making a deal, I'll be honest with you about everything…"

"So it's an item," Kael said.

"Yes, not exactly an item.," Xu Ying nodded.

"And it is currently inside his body, right now?" Kael asked.

"It is," Xu Ying said and paused, feeling that things might not be going well.

"Katari…" Kael started but Katari had already acted immediately. She waves her hand and caused Isaiah to be teleported away from the throne level.

"You need to learn how to create the Limit Seal first. If you try to reverse-engineer it, you could just destroy the whole thing. The limit seal is not something that simple magic can create.

It needs the Laws," Xu Ying said, somewhat proud. His knowledge of how the limit seal could be created might just allow him to get the Heavenly Beacon for himself without any conditions.

"You claim to know how it is created, yet you have only one which you have already used up if you are being truthful," Kael said, awakening Xu Ying from his delusional state.

The fact that Kael had the intellect of a genuine Magus Lion had skipped his mind.

"And if you still can't create this so-called Limit Seal, then that means that you don't have the ability to, or your knowledge is incomplete.

Why should I value this knowledge to be equal to the heavenly beacon?"

Xu Ying was stunned. It was exactly as Kael put it, something else was stopping him from creating these Limit Seals himself; if not he would have stocked up on many of them.

Yet, all he had was one.

This was just his desperate attempt to hold on to the possibility of getting the heavenly beacon for himself. His desperation was affecting his thinking abilities.

Alora sighed in relief, she hadn't thought of it like that before. At least now, she had a chance.

She was offering to Kael something Xu Ying was finding hard to part with, her freedom.

"Alora," Kael called. Hearing Kael call her by her name caused Alora to shudder.

"I don't trust you," Kael stated plain and simple.

Alora lowered her head so as to hide her gaze.

"Do you understand what unconditional obedience means?" Kael asked.

"Yes," Alora responded.

"And you realize that I could ask you to do anything and you really won't have the ability to refuse if you accept these conditions?" Kael asked again.

"I understand?" Alora said.

Then, Kael's telepathic wave surged out as he established a private telepathic wave with Alora.

"Why? I could just ask you to commit suicide before I run out of things to ask you. Why would you put yourself in such a disadvantaged position?" He asked.

At first, Alora didn't answer, she really contemplated keeping her silence and not saying anything. She was judging if it was the right time to tell Kael her true intentions.

"Because I was never going to accept it without adding my own conditions," Alora finally said.

Kael tilted his head, "I see,"

"Yes, I'm not going to owe you a debt of seven unconditional obedience, no, it will have its own conditions," Alora said.

"I'm listening," Kael said.

"You cannot ask me to do anything that will result in my harm or my death," She stated.

"I thought as much," Kael said as he rolled his eyes. He already knew that if he left the clause as it was, many would struggle against it.

Adolf had signed it because he had no choice, these ones would put up more resistance.

Alora and Xu Ying were equally desperate, but they were not willing to easily sacrifice their freedom for power, not unless they had their way around it.

Kael didn't need Alora to say anything anymore, he had already learned what he could from the interaction.

He waved his hand and all the golden contracts in front of the lion youths changed.

Most of the contents remained the same but the last condition had been changed.

[... exempt from orders that would directly lead to death, such orders can be ignored.]

Xu Ying saw the change and reacted swiftly, "I'll accept it, seven obedience debts"

He felt he could not delay with this new condition as it was safer. He saw through the trick of Kael's words easily.

Although it said that there would be no orders that directly led to death, Kael could still engineer orders that could 'indirectly' lead to his death.

But this condition was better still.

"No!" Alora spoke up again, "Out of those seven conditions of obedience debts, I'm willing to make one of them unconditional."

The smile on Kael's face stretched to the limit, giving him a funny yet horrifying look.

Xu Ying's neck snapped to Alora, his eyes blazing with rage, "STOP IT!" He looked like he would attack at any moment.

"Primordial Lion, does my offer soothe you?" Alora asked.

Before Kael could answer, Xu Ying had already moved. He rushed out, his hand forming a claw and he shot it toward Alora.

Multiple runes appeared underneath his clothes, enhancing his strength and coating him in a protective layer of magic.

*BAM!*

Xu Ying's palm struck another red magic barrier that had surrounded Alora at the moment. Alora stood within the barrier, shaken.

Her face was still calm and her eyes were aloof. But from her shaking shoulders and heavy breathing, Xu Ying and Kael could tell that she was scared.

The magic barrier had come from Kael. The turn of events had stunned the lion youths.

"Xu Ying actually attacked Alora,"

"He's been pushed to his limit,"

As they conversed with themselves, they stylishly moved away, going closer to the elevator. Even Adolf had moved, although, he had an ugly expression.

The condition Kael was giving them now was vastly better than his own. He literally owed Kael six unconditional obedience.

Thawne, ever so quiet since he had his fortune power suppressed, also moved. Although he had regained his powers back, he had been especially quiet since he entered the pocket dimension.

His bad experience with this place did not allow him to be so relaxed and he was constantly on edge.

*BAM!*

Xu Ying launched another order range attack in the span of a single second, yet nothing happened to Alora.

She remained alive and protected.

"I have to ensure she gets the Heavenly Beacon for herself, so that's what she was preparing for…" Kael said to himself as he began to stand up from his pillow throne.

Katari also stepped forward.

"You all may sign the contract now. Xu Ying, you clearly aren't willing to give a better offer, I suggest you sign the contract and leave the rest to Alora.

I won't tolerate your outburst next time," Kael said with a malicious aura oozing off his body.
