Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World

Chapter 259: Too Much Knowledge

"N'bayé!" Kael's telepathic voice echoed through the space of the library as he stepped in through the doorway.

He was met with the familiar sight of a dark, almost black background with multiple orbs floating around nearby.

Even now, Kael could barely make out the very high ceiling. Multiple info orbs floated in place, containing knowledge on different aspects of the universe.

Currently, a red and blue streak of light constantly danced around the library, moving from one info orb to the other. The spinning streak of light rose, quickly reaching the ceiling and circling around one info orb for a moment before moving away fast to meet another orb.

Hearing the call, the streak of lights slowed down mid-air to reveal the humanoid figure of N'bayé.

She now wore a bright red and green open-shoulder dress that reached just below her knees. The rune tattoos etched on her body could still be seen in her exploded skin and head.

She stared down from above, looking past the numerous info orbs with her eyes which were filled with spinning red runes.

Noticing the figures of Kael and Katari, the runes in N'bayé's eyes died down to reveal her clear brownish-yellow irises.

The levitation runes on the soles of her feet churned slowly bringing her down to land on the floor.

One thing seemed different about N'bayé though, Kael noticed it. She seemed…happy.

Like, actually happy. Not pretending, or wearing a smile to deceive anyone. N'bayé was actually happy at the moment.

The smile she had on her face wasn't wide, it was just small enough to look like it wasn't intentional. She may not be aware that the corners of her lips had risen slightly.

When looking at Kael, her eyes were clear and her eyebrows were relaxed. She wasn't calculating or forming any schemes at the moment, she was just happy.

"You seem quite excited," Kael said with a charming smile of his own. His golden eyes produced an expectant glint as he scanned the library, seeing all the info orbs floating around.

"Kael, you're awake," N'bayé said, neither agreeing nor disagreeing with Kael's statement.

"Yes, I am," Kael said.

N'bayé put her hands together, interlocking her fingers over her abdomen, she assumed a pose fit for nobility.

"Are you feeling well?" What happened?" She asked, the curves at the edges of her lips faltered with worry.

"It's nothing to worry about for now," Kael waved his hand to dismiss her worries, at least, she seemed a bit worried. "What are you doing?" He asked.

"Nothing much, just glancing through the info orbs, looking for something to study," N'bayé said, her nearly invisible smile returning to her face.

The sides of her eyes were squinted slightly, her level of satisfaction had never been this high before.

Katari just stared at N'bayé indifferently, she didn't show any emotion, as usual. Her stance was simple and she stood some inches behind Kael, acting almost like a bodyguard.

"Has Katari briefed you yet?" N'bayé asked. She gave Katari a glance that didn't hold any other intent apart from vigilance.

"She has told me enough," Kael nodded, "And you, have you found what to study yet? Anything of interest?" Kael asked.

He walked forward and N'bayé assumed her position by his left while Katari remained by his right.

"No, not yet. There's just so much knowledge in his place, I don't even know where to start.

Everything here is so interesting, before I can settle on one topic, I'll find another that is equally interesting.

So many concepts and ideologies that I have never heard of before, it's like a whole new world and I don't know where to go," N'bayé said with her face becoming more expressive and her smile becoming brighter.

Kael chuckled, N'bayé's desire for knowledge was an interesting trait. Whereas he usually sought to learn things or acquire knowledge that would be of benefit to him, N'bayé just wanted all kinds of Knowledge, whether it was directly beneficial to her or not.

Kael stretched his hand out and one of the info orbs floated gently to rest in his open palm.

[Rune Properties and Alphabets]

The surface content of the info orb entered Kael's mind.

"What about this one," Kael said, pushing it over to N'bayé who caught it skillfully.

When N'bayé reached out to grab the orb, Kael was able to see the faint outline of a protruding belly through her dress. His eyes narrowed slightly but he didn't say anything about it, not now.

N'bayé looked through the orb, her reaction made it look like she had just found the most beautiful treasure in the world.

"This one is very nice, I'll keep it for later… Oh, what about this one," N'bayé suddenly caught another info orb in her other hand

Katari's eyes shifted slightly, noticing the faint bump on N'bayé's belly through her dress. She pressed her lips together, sinking into thought, she wasn't that interested in what Kael and N'bayé were talking about.

[Construction Of A Space Pocket: Materials and Techniques]

N'bayé passed the orb over to Kael. Kael caught the orb, finding the content very interesting too. However, one glance at the first few sections showed that they couldn't apply the contents of the info orb to real life.

N'bayé and Kael began exchanging info orbs with each other, trying to find a good one that N'bayé could focus on. But N'bayé was just too greedy, she didn't know which one she should settle for.

Katari just observed them, acting like an introvert with her own thoughts running through her head.

Eventually, Kael and N'bayé guessed that if they continued like this, neither of them would find anything, all the info orbs had interesting knowledge worth looking into.

So, Kael simply advised N'bayé to prioritize knowledge that would be most beneficial to them at the moment.

N'bayé was a logical person, she had also thought of this but simply found her critical thinking weak when standing before so much knowledge. She listened to Kael and immediately started creating a list of things the lion regime needed and the knowledge they as a whole might be lacking.

"What about the one I gave you the first time, the one about Origin Essence," Kael asked.

"Oh," N'bayé eyes glittered, "I've finished with that one,"

"What?"

"I've finished with it," N'bayé repeated.

"Since when?" Kael asked, surprised. He was still slightly disoriented from his unconscious state. For him, everything that had happened might as well have only been an hour or a day at most.

"I finished it last week. The topics in there are very useful I must say, I learned a lot," N'bayé said. She talked as if she didn't put much effort into it. She continued browsing through the info orbs, looking for something to study.

"Oh, that's good then, no wonder you're looking for the next thing to study," Kael said.

"Yeah, I wanted to focus more on that other magic shuttle parked in the hangar but we've met some blocks.

It's not so easy to study how it works without the base knowledge needed to reverse engineer it," N'bayé said.

Her vocabulary had been picking up lately as she learned of certain terminologies involved in the field of technology and magic.

"So, did you gain anything that might be useful to us from the Origin Essence info orbs?" Kael asked.

"Yes, I did," N'bayé released the info orb that was in her hand and let it float away under her watchful gaze. She turned to Kael with a serious expression, gaining Katari's attention too.

"We may have been looking for Origin Essence in the wrong place all this while and that should be why it is so hard for us to extract it.

The method Natalia had given us was flawed, it asked us to extract it from everything, which is actually possible.

But that method comes with a lot of risks as well as being an act of wastage. A lot of Origin Essence would be lost if we tried that method.

Let's not forget the scale, we would need a lot of Origin Essence to power the Iron Blood Pyramid and the shuttles to their full power.

Individual creatures might not need much to restore their personal power pools, hence why Natalia's method might have been preferred at that time.

But we are operating on a larger scale, we have to account for much bigger things that could give us an edge.

What we need is a generator, something that can naturally extract the Origin Essence from everything and convert it into Real Matter and also be able to reverse the process.

According to the Info Orb's authors, things like Conquering Essence and Origin Essence which are tied to the building blocks of the universe cannot be created artificially.

There is a specific way to generate such essence, which is why I said we have been looking in the wrong direction,"

Kael nodded, indeed, Conquering Essence couldn't just be found anywhere, certain conditions had to be met.

"And have you found where we can get Origin Essence from?" He asked.

"That's the thing," N'bayé shook her head, "There's nothing to find.

The reason why we never saw an Origin Essence Generator is because it was already with us, right under us.

This world IS the generator,"
