Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World

Chapter 258: Chloe Is A Threat?

"One month?" Kael asked, bewildered.

"Yes, you've been unconscious for close to a month, maybe less, I wasn't counting," Katari said.

"When did you wake up?" Kael asked.

"I think a week after you fell unconscious," Katari responded.

The two of them stepped out of the room and into a long hallway. Not too far ahead, an elevator was sitting there, waiting to be used.

Seeing the elevator, Kael realized that after he opened the portal to the pocket dimension, his lionesses most likely got access to the Iron Blood Pyramid.

Who knew what they had done in the last month? Kael suddenly had a desire to see N'bayé immediately, he was eager to see what she had been doing all these while.

At the same time, he was also perplexed at the fact that he had spent close to a month unconscious. During this time, he was just reliving the memories of his past life so that he wouldn't lose himself to an identity crisis.

Kael didn't know how to prevent something like that from happening and it bothered him greatly, it was like a bullet in his side, it would slowly kill him if he didn't remove it.

"How do you like the place?" Kael asked as both of them walked to the elevator.

Katari stretched out her hand to touch the wall. Her fingers and sharp claws lightly slid across the bright grey surface, leaving no scratches behind.

"It's very nice, I like it very much," Katari said with a smile, she wasn't faking it, the pyramid just felt so nice and comfortable to her lion psyche that she felt at home and relaxed whenever she was inside it.

"Have you explored the place? There's much to see," Kael said, talking about the Activity level that was filled with many interesting places to check out.

"I've explored some places," Katari said, shrugging her shoulders, "But I've mostly been waiting by your door, waiting for you to wake up,"

"Thank you," Kael said.

The two of them eventually reached the elevator which seemed too big for them. The pyramid diagram shimmered into existence above their heads on the green-tinted glass.

"Where are the rest? Are they also here?" Kael asked. He wanted to know where they were before selecting one of the six levels.

"N'bayé should be on the third level, that's where she spends most of her time, mainly in that library place.

But the others are usually busy with one thing or the other and spend some time outside the pyramid.

Mind you, you left a whole buffet of high-level squids, octopuses, and other aquatic animals.

Ruda and Eidel have been stocking up the storage after it was cleaned out with meat that they hunted down themselves. All the creatures they've been hunting are high-leveled as it would be a waste to put the meat of ordinary creatures there.

Priya has been busy managing and creating a hierarchy structure for the castes. She didn't need to do much in that area and she must be busy with meetings and relationship building.

I would guess that most of them prefer to talk with Priya rather than with you or others.

Zabita and Diane are more focused on building the individual strengths of our vassals. Using the many carcasses you left behind, they have been steadily growing our armies.

It's been a while since I checked on them so I don't know the exact details for now.

However, N'bayé estimated that our vassals who aren't meat eaters would be lacking in terms of strength compared to the carnivores if this happened. So Nalii has been quite busy in that department as well."

The Elevator finally settled down on the third level, the doors slid to reveal a curved long hallway.

Kael noticed that Katari didn't seem particularly interested in whatever was inside the pyramid even though she said that she liked it very much. But because it was Kael's property and was very useful to him, she automatically liked it too.

If not that, she might not have cared that much if the Iron Blood Pyramid did not belong to Kael.

Kael used his telepathy to select the third level which was the Activities Level.

"What about Olivia and Chloe? Has anyone started control of the command level?" Kael asked as the elevator began to rise.

The Iron Blood Pyramid had the whole pocket dimension as an extension had a level dedicated to its control and maintenance.

"No, N'bayé said that managing the command level will require energy that we don't have access to yet. She checked and found that the pyramid was running just fine in its reserves and we could last for a while until we found that special type of energy.

She also mentioned something about the portal constantly draining energy but wasn't too particular about it."

Kael stepped out of the elevator with Katari, thinking about her words. The energy Katari was referring to was probably Origin Essence, it seems N'bayé had been doing her assignment.

Suddenly, Katari's face went cold and her body went slightly stiff as she walked, "Kael, do you like Chloe?" She asked with her eyes trained on Kael as if she wanted to see his reaction.

Kael didn't seem dazed by the question, he had expected something like this to come the day he accepted Chloe into the pride.

Within his mind, he sighed.

"Hope you didn't kill her?" Kael asked, half joking and half serious.

Katari shifted her dark eyes to the floor, barely revealing any emotion, "I tried to, but N'bayé and the others prevented me from biting her head off," She said with a shocking level of seriousness.

She had really tried to bite Chloe's head off. Thankfully, N'bayé had been present and stepped in. If not for N'bayé, Chloe would have definitely died as no other person was 'persuasive' enough to stop Katari.

"Hmm, that's good," Kael said, secretly making a note to thank N'bayé later.

Katari continued, "They said that you liked Chloe and that she was very valuable to the whole pride, is it true? Do you want her in the Pride?"

Kael raised an eyebrow, "What if I don't really want her in the Pride?" He asked.

Katari immediately stopped walking, confusing Kael.

"I'll go and kill her right now, excuse me," Katari was serious. She turned around and headed straight to the elevator.

In her eyes, Chloe was a threat, someone who had once threatened the life of Kael should not be allowed to live. All she had been waiting for was confirmation from Kael and she would immediately act on her logic.

Kael immediately reached out to grab Katari's wrist, "No don't do that!" Kael frowned.

Katari tilted her head to the side, "You don't want me to kill her?" She asked.

"Of course not," Kael said, "N'bayé was right, Chloe is actually very valuable to the pride.

I ordered her to help me look for the arkship as she would know what to look for.

She also has some sort of relationship with the lions from heaven, something that can be capitalized on," Kael said.

Katari's face was stoic, all the things that Kael mentioned didn't rid her of the fact that Chloe once tried to kill Kael and also contributed to her injury and coma.

"But she tried to kill you," Katari said.

"Yes, but think of it like this, she's paying for her transgressions by working with us. She's valuable to me Katari, isn't that enough reason to let her be for now?" Kael reasoned.

"For now?" Katari was quick to hold on to that phrase.

"Kind of," Kael said, "Let's go, forget about her for now.

Besides, with you here, something like that will likely never happen again right?" He asked meaningfully.

"I'll protect you with my life?" Katari puffed out her chest.

"You're of no use to me dead dear. Just make sure that all threats are dealt with on time so that something like that won't repeat itself." Kael corrected her.

Katari nodded, "Threats like Chloe?" She asked again. She really wasn't going to let go that easily.

Kael used his other hand to rub the bridge of his nose, "No, not Chloe, she's not a threat,"

"She's not?"

"No, she's not," Kael confirmed.

"I'll keep an eye on her," Katari had to settle for something.

"That, I'll appreciate," Kael smiled.

Katari returned the smile.

"What about Olivia?" Kael returned to his previous questioning.

"Oh, Olivia is…lackadaisical, as usual. However, she seems to have gained interest in luxury and acquiring things that are perceived as wealth.

She's been getting more involved in the markets these days."

"Hmm," Kael didn't say anything about that, he didn't see anything wrong with it. It might even be a good thing for the whole Ol-mytee Clan.

"Oh," Katari recalled something, "A mysterious Lion going by the name Xu Ying has been requesting to see you for some time now.

He said that you and him have something to talk about,"
