Rebirth, Seduce My Ex-husband

Chapter 13: Wifey Duties

Taking her coat, Vanessa got ready to leave. She had just packed some of the food she made earlier today in a nice lunch box as she made her way out.

She entered her car and drove off. It was about an hour's drive before she got to her destination.

Stepping out of her car, she sighed slightly as she stood before a white-glassed building.

And this building belonged to Rowen.

Rowen liked his privacy more than anything, so only two people knew about his private condo—George, his assistant, and Vanessa.

That was one of the reasons there wasn't even security, so Vanessa could pass through without an unnecessary survey of questions.

She stopped nervously in front of his door, adjusting her clothes and hair. Her golden eyes glowed even more under the nice solar light.

Gaining the courage, she finally tapped on the doorbell, and it rang from inside.

Meanwhile,

Now seated at his desk, Rowen ran through some files. Just then, his stomach growled, and he sighed.

Taking his phone to call George to order some food, he heard his doorbell ring.

Immediately, his brows twitched. He knew very well that George never came unless instructed, and no one else knew about his whereabouts.

Frowning slightly, he stood up and walked firmly toward the door. Through his small smart TV, he could see who was at the door, and for a moment, he was taken by surprise to see Vanessa.

Hesitating slightly, he opened the door and was greeted with a warm smile from the woman who had just been on his screen some hours ago.

Smiling brightly, Vanessa stretched out her hands, holding the lunch box she had packed. With a slightly high-pitched voice, she said, "Delivery service here!"

With that, she blinked slightly as Rowen just sighed and turned around to leave. Seeing that as his 'welcome in,' Vanessa entered and shut the door behind her.

**

Entering his living room, Rowen collapsed on his couch and crossed his legs slightly.

He wasn't wearing his glasses, and it made him look so handsome that Vanessa couldn't help but bite her lip slightly.

Noticing that, Rowen adjusted himself slightly and let out an awkward cough. "Are you going to reveal why you're here or not?"

Getting back to her senses, Vanessa just smiled awkwardly. "W-well, I wanted to discuss something important with you, and I guessed coming to your condo unannounced was a bit rude of me, so I made you some food instead," she said as she placed the lunch box on the table.

Hearing that, Rowen was about to question her on how she got his location, but the smell of curry got to him.

Seeing his expression and how he wasn't complaining, Vanessa smiled in victory. "I'll go microwave it and serve it… gimme a second."

With that, she stood up and made her way to the kitchen.

Vanessa moved around the kitchen as though she owned the place, and it just made Rowen's eyes stay glued to her permanently.

After microwaving the food, she turned on the heater since it was getting chilly. Then, she took out the food, dished it all up, and served it to the starving Rowen, who tried to act demure, but hunger got the best of him, and he found himself swallowing every piece of rice on the plate.

Seeing how much he enjoyed her cooking, Vanessa had a satisfied look as she then went to complete her wifely duties.

The condo wasn't really dirty, but Rowen only had maids come in once a week to clean it, and he had been staying there for the past four days, so it was a little messy.

From the bedroom all the way to the kitchen, Vanessa vacuumed the entire house and arranged it neatly. She washed the few dishes available in the sink, then checked the groceries—there were very few.

Sighing, she took her keys and left, returning only half an hour later with a bunch of groceries.

Rowen helped her carry some of the grocery bags in and placed them all in the kitchen.

From then on, he carried his laptop to the kitchen island and worked while watching Vanessa cook and clean.

After some time, she finished cooking, packed the food into boxes, and placed them in the fridge.

Then, she took out some coffee bags and made coffee for both herself and Rowen.

Walking toward him, she placed the coffee on his desk.

"Thanks," he said without looking up at her, but that was enough to put a smile on Vanessa's face.

At this point, it was already so dark. Vanessa checked the time—it was already 9 o'clock in the evening.

She panicked slightly. She was supposed to meet up with her sister later tonight. Sighing, she collapsed on the couch, and then the sound of thunder was heard.

Soon enough, it started to rain.

Seeing this, she stood up and immediately closed the curtains. The rain was so heavy that she swore she saw someone's wig fly away.

Finally done with his work, Rowen closed his laptop and walked toward her.

"The rain is pretty heavy. It would be best if you stayed here tonight and leave in the morning. I have an extra room; you can sleep there," he said and immediately turned around and left.

Hearing him say that gave Vanessa a little piece of joy. She knew deep down he still cared for her, and she was going to make amends for all her wrongdoings in the past, no matter what.

Standing up, she went to the nice and cozy room to settle in. A little tired, she wanted a nice, warm bath, so she went into the shower. But unfortunately for her, it had just dawned on her that she hadn't brought any extra clothes.

Stepping out of the bathroom with just a towel wrapped around her, she approached Rowen, who froze upon seeing her.

Her hair was wet, and her face was red from the obvious cold. Her skin was as fair as ever, and her tender lips shivered slightly.

"U-umm, w-well, I-I didn't b-bring any e-extra clothes, and I'm freezing r-right now."

Seeing this, Rowen immediately stood up and left his study, coming back seconds later with a white shirt.

"Wear this for tonight. It's the only long shirt I have."

Nodding, Vanessa took the shirt and immediately ran to her room.

A few minutes later, she stepped out. Her hair was a little messy since she didn't have any hair care products, yet it made her look cute and naughty.

Meanwhile, Rowen could only use his glasses to cover his already red face as he stared at her.

Seeing his awkward stare, Vanessa looked down at herself, only to blush slightly. She had forgotten she was naked behind the shirt, making her nipples visible for him to see.

Sighing, she said, "This is going to be a weird night."
