Raze A Dystopian Adventure

Chapter 2: Chapter 2 - Despair!

"Alex!"

Alex shook as he woke up from his imagination. He tried to remember what he saw, but he felt like his memories were erased. He raised his head to look at the teacher standing before him, with his script with her. He smiled in shame as he knew he could not explain what happened.

"Do you mind telling me if you listened at all?" She asked in a demanding tone.

Some students giggled at their seats as it was not everyday they get to see someone on Miss Phoebe's bad side.

"Excuse me, Miss Phoebe. I didn't mean to..!" His words were cut off as every human saw what they would never forget. On each continent around the world. The sky turned dark, with flashes of lightning ravaging the sky. Roars of thunders could be heard resounding loudly as it seemed the sky would spit apart. A heavy pressure descended upon the world as many felt their souls leave their bodies, dying in the process. The heart of many shook as they thought the end had arrived. The world plunged into chaos as some started a killing spree, and crime rates shot up

Then everyone shivered when they saw a tear in the sky large enough to swallow a whole continent, and it didn't make it any pleasant as they could hear a shriek that shook their souls coming from the other end. A gigantic monster-like arm came out from the tear, the hand held one side of the tear like a door and the other hand came reached out to hold the other. Everyone felt a deep fear in their souls as a large head finally came out. The monster's face outline was blurry as it seemed humans were not worthy to examine it.

"ROAR!!" The creature screamed, making everyone hold their ears, crying out in pain. It finally moved out of the tear, making them 'see' how gigantic the creature was. It's body as large as two countries combined and two pairs of large winds casting a shadow upon some portions of the world made everyone know their end is here.

"I AM $#$#$#!" The creature cried out loudly as it flew around. Then more foreign creatures came out of the tear flying around the world for whatever purpose they came for. Chaos ran rampant as they slew many people that were unfortunate to be in their way.

Alex fell as he felt a sharp pain in his head. Nobody paid him attention, as they were all running for their lives. A memory rushed into his mind as he knelt on the floor of his class shaking vigorously.

He saw a version of himself standing before an extremely large ocean floating above it dressed in an iron suit with blue flames burning his hair, but his hair wasn't burnt. This him raised his arms then waved them, causing the ocean to boil. A sharp scream of pain could be heard coming from the depths of the ocean as a gigantic creature could be seen coming out. The creature looked at Alex angrily, "Why have you come to disturb me?" It asked, annoyed. "Have you humans not taken enough from us?"

The other Alex, replied, "Humph! Humans may not have anything to do with you, but I do!" Then he strode forward towards the creature in a fighting stance. The creature growled back.

"Do not take my retreat for cowardice! You humans will always be below the food chain, no matter how much you struggle!"

"We will see about that!"

They both got into a heated fight which seemed to destroy the space and natural elements that occured here. The gigantic creature was at a disadvantage in their battle. After what felt like days spent fighting, the creature decided to retreat quickly as it pretended to hit Alex, then quickly flew off into a tear in air.

"As expected, it wasn't just lurking here for nothing." Alex said as he observed where he was. He turned around, then saw Alex looking at him without emotions.

"I see we both have the same things in common. But since you are here, it means it has started," He said in a slightly regretful tone, "I tried stopping it all, but it looks like I'm not enough for everything."

Alex looked at the 'Alex' before him saying words he understood but couldn't digest as the situation didn't allow him to.

"You don't have any questions?" He asked as he smiled at the him. Alex looked around him again as he noticed that the damage to this place didn't recover.

"You must save mother and sister at all costs!"

"What!?" Alex asked his first question since he got here.

"I can't explain now, but you must be quick!" He then waved his hand, making Alex disappear.

'Alex' sighed as he watched him disappear, "in the end, it still wasn't enough." He clenched his teeth. The place he was exploded as he moved to his next destination.

"Maybe I can find out myself and prevent too many casualties from happening to him!" He continued as he seemed to look into the direction of where Alex was, his eyes tearing through the fabrics of time and space.

Alex suddenly found himself near his home, but he didn't bother to know how, as he knew his current self couldn't comprehend that.

"Mom! Sarah!" He shouted as he entered the house. He could hear screams everywhere which made him quicken his steps, as he prayed in his heart for them to be alive.

"Just be alive, please." he pleaded as he moved to his mother and sister's rooms. He didn't find anyone as the house looked scattered as if it had been destroyed while running. He saw traces of blood on the floor, then followed it with strange a confidence he summoned. He heard a grunting sound in the backyard as he ran over to check. What he saw made his blood run cold, and he held his mouth as he saw the clothes of his mother and sister soaked in blood with a grotesque creature flying away screeching out loudly. He ran over to their dresses and grabbed them, crying out loudly. Pieces of flesh and organs were scattered on the floor which he did not need anyone to tell him who they belonged to. He could hear other people crying in their different houses as they saw littered remains of those unfortunate to be at home.

Alex didn't know why, but he felt frightening calm which was odd for him who just lost the remaining kin that he held dear. He rose up quietly then proceeded to check around the house for momentary danger. It seems whatever those creatures were, most had their fill as they flew less around this area.

Entering the house again, he entered his room as he fell on his bed face upwards. Tears spilled from the corners of his eyes which was quickly wiped away. His vision then started o turn blurry and he felt a wave of fatigue wash over him as his consciousness slowly drifted asleep.

He processed all he could remember, from the tragedy of today to the death of his mother and sister. He clenched his fists on the bed as his face remained emotionless.

He laughed in deprecation as he realized how weak he was compared to the invaders.

"I will pay them back in full!" he said as he closed his eyes and drifted to sleep.

Seconds later, his left eye opened suddenly, an object came out of it. It circled round the room again. "Not enough energy!" It spoke in a mechanical voice.

The object faced Alex, who slept on the bed calmly, then proceeded to hover around the wound below his left eye. It observed the wound, trying to remember how the human got the wound that failed to heal all this while. The wound, as it could remember, had been on his face before he found the boy, or rather the boy found him. Surprisingly, no one noticed the oddity about him. Even the boy himself didn't know.

This world seemed strange to it also, as it noticed many strange things here. The object moved to the window, observing all the chaos still happening in places closer to its location.

"It's a pity I can't see more than this," muttered the object in a voice barely a whisper.

Alex, while sleeping, dreamed of the last scene. He saw the grotesque creature leaving and tried stopping it. Unfortunately, he was too weak and slow! Slow! Yes, slow to save those he cared for. The scene replayed itself, but this time round he didn't see his other self, but rather went home directly when the tear happened, but he still experienced the same scene. Every time with their clothes soaked. This scene changed several times, but he still ended up not saving them.

He could constantly hear a voice, whispering to him how weak he was. The voice taunted him to no end, almost making him give in to despair. He had never appreciated his family, and now he regretted it as they had been taken away from him.

He didn't blam himself for not being strong, but he decided he would free his world from the invaders! Since they decided to come here. They should not blame him, if he decides to do the same to them. All these happened while dreaming.
