RAIWAN AGAINST THE DIVINE

Chapter 10: Fear

Chapter 10: Fear

Minutes split into seconds, and seconds merged into hours.

Hours passed with no clear winner on either side of the battle. But then… two Sovereigns made a mistake.

Lisa gladly took advantage of that.

Two heads dropped to the ground.

An enraged friend stupidly fell into her strike zone and was split in half.

A flash of lightning shone within her eyes.

With the death of three Sovereigns, a deadly balance was broken, and the scales tipped in Lisa's favor.

Her enemies were growing tired, their energy running low.

But Lisa—Lisa had just begun.

Another head dropped to the ground. Another. Then another. A hand. Then another head.

"Fall back!" one of them screamed.

They tried to, but would Lisa allow them?

She went after them, and gripped with fear, they could no longer strategize.

They would all die if they didn't do something.

Then they did something.

They launched their trump card.

"Anasha, now!"

Anasha, who had been at the very back of the battlefield all this time, leaped forward and met Lisa head on. She struck Lisa with all the emotions she had accumulated from the surroundings, turning them all into pain.

Lisa was thrown back for the first time, letting out a horrified scream. As she stumbled and went reeling across the ground, she drove her sword into it, using it as an anchor to steady herself and prevent her body from being hurled further away.

Kneeling on one knee, she coughed out a mouthful of blood.

Anasha moved forward, trying to strike Lisa again, but jumped back when Lisa sent ripples of lightning all around her.

Four Sovereigns with earth abilities jumped and created two walls that led straight to Lisa. Anasha appeared in the middle of the walls, a black pain spear in her hand.

Lisa saw the pain spear coming at her, but she knew she wouldn't be able to dodge it. She grimaced and braced herself for the unbearable pain.

The pain was incredible, but Lisa endured it. She didn't scream this time—she only coughed out yet another mouthful of blood.

At the same time, Lisa also felt a hand touch her shoulder as Energox suddenly started leaving her body.

White, glowing grains of Energox could be seen shimmering on the surface of the man's skin, traveling up his forearm.

How dare…!

A tyrannical aura of a Red Sovereign pulsed out of her body in a tidal wave, like an ocean of death.

Many of the Sovereigns close to Lisa were instantly flung away like flies. The others instinctively took several steps back.

Birds from several kilometers away rained down, dead.

Beasts and animals scurried away. Horses neighed and ran in terror. The remaining people on the battlefield also scattered, their minds filled with fear.

Everyone—every living being within and outside San Raza for at least fifty kilometers—lost their minds.

They could not think.

They could not understand.

They could only shiver.

They could only fear.

Even those within the safe hold weren't spared. Many didn't even dare to take a breath out of fear—some died because of it.

It was as though the world was coming to an end.

Even the sunlight seemed to dim, crimson and black clouds devouring the white ones, forming a nightmarish storm over San Raza—or perhaps over the entire world.

Everyone is going to die if something is not done! the elderly Red Sovereign feared.

While Rahiq,

Who dared touch my wife?! Rahiq gnashed his teeth.

The Red Sovereign fighting him jumped back several meters and screamed, "You have to stop her!"

Rahiq glared at her but knew she was right.

He had to stop Lisa.

"LISA!" he shouted.

And that was enough.

She only needed a reminder, after all.

She came back to her senses.

And immediately after that…

The hand of the frozen Sovereign was chopped off, and his heart was clenched before his eyes.

He dropped dead.

But still, he had weakened Lisa—stealing a lot her energy.

Lisa was now weak.

Very much so.

And the remaining Sovereigns could see that.

They all pounced on her, attacking from every angle. Every time a fist connected, her entire body screamed in agony. They were Sovereigns, after all.

They hit, punched, and cut until she could no longer lift a finger.

Rahiq wanted to come to her aid, but he could not.

The Sovereigns gathered in front of her. One of them placed his foot on her chest when she could no longer move.

She stared at him but neither spoke nor tried to resist.

He spoke.

"Do you know that you are the weakest strongest person in this world, Lisa? Do you know that I used to respect you?"

Silence gave him his answer.

"You are someone even a Celestial would think twice before going against, yet look at yourself!"

"Look at yourself, Lisa. Look how pitiful your condition is. For what? For these things that wouldn't even survive if you so much as sneezed? For what? For something as stupid as belief, morality, and humanity?"

Lisa's voice was calm. "What do you understand by the terms belief, morality, and humanity, Kabik?"

He was silent for a brief moment contemplating the question, then he said,

"Belief… belief is what I believe. Morals are something applied only to humans. We gods are beyond that. And humanity… ahhh, let me think… well… humanity is just a slave to me. No more than that. They are just animals I slaughter as I see fit—play with however I wish."

Hmmmm…

Lisa scoffed in disgust.

"You see, beliefs, morals, and humanity are the blocks that build people into wise aiwars, transcending their minds to the aiwar of enlightenment. Valuelessness, selfishness, and corruption are the opposite of these things. They cut the strings of the aiwars and destroy the walls. And soon, you start plummeting from the apex with the speed of a falling star.

Before you know it, you are god stupid."

his friends couldn't help but chuckle at Lisa's mockery, even with the rage and hatred filling their hearts.

Kabik's expression twisted in frustration as he pressed his foot harder against her chest, gritting his teeth.

But fearing that his friends would notice he had been shaken, he scoffed.

"You are not making sense at all. I don't understand, and I don't want to understand."

Lisa shook her head.

"I don't doubt that. You never understand, anyway. Someone like you is incapable of understanding what normal people understands. If you force your brain, I'm afraid it will fry."

When they heard that, every one of his friends burst into maniacal laughter.

Enough of this!

Frustrated, Kabik bent down and grabbed her by the neck. He looked into her eyes—his own had completely turned white at some point.

Lisa's eyes also started to turn white.

But then… they stopped.

And turned back to normal.

"Stop resisting, you bitch." He snarled as he punched her face over and over, each impact sending shockwaves through the ground, spiderweb cracks forming beneath her head.

He didn't stop untill when her eyelids began to shut, afraid she would faint if he hit her again. He shook her, and she weakly opened her stark white eyes.

Kabik finally sighed in relief.

Lisa's eyes had completely turned white.
