After returning to the dormitory, Jacob tossed and turned in bed, unable to fall asleep. He thought about the help Teacher Nina had given him and her haggard, weakened appearance when she left the incubator. His feelings were incredibly mixed.

Teacher Nina had secretly gone to treat Axew's Pokémon egg in the middle of the night. It was obvious she didn't want Jacob to know about it and didn't want to expose her special abilities, preferring to hide it from him.

Therefore, Jacob decided not to confront Teacher Nina about it, but seeing her becoming more haggard and thinner with each passing day made him feel extremely uncomfortable.

After contemplating the situation over and over, Jacob finally decided to stop Teacher Nina from continuing this treatment. Axew's Pokémon egg could wait a little longer to hatch, but Teacher Nina's health couldn't afford to deteriorate further. She was already very thin, and this couldn't continue. He still wanted her to be healthy and vibrant again.

...

Early the next morning, Jacob purchased a lot of food and a pack of cigarettes before heading to the teachers' dormitory. When passing by the guard room, he gave the cigarettes to the gatekeeper.

As the saying goes, the first time is awkward, the second time is familiar. A tacit understanding had formed between the two of them. The old man took the cigarettes handed to him by Jacob without saying a word. He pretended not to see Jacob and let him pass directly. This time, he didn't even need to sign in.

Arriving at Teacher Nina's house, Jacob retrieved the spare key from under the second flower pot on the right and gently opened the door. He had seen where she kept it when he escorted Teacher Nina home last time.

Teacher Nina had a bad memory and always forgot to bring her keys when she went out, so she simply kept a spare hidden there for convenience.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Nina's Noivern immediately flew out of the yard vigilantly. When it saw that it was Jacob, its expression softened slightly.

Its expression seemed to say, "Oh, it's just you, kid. You gave me a false alarm."

Jacob released his Pokémon to train in the yard but was careful about the noise so as not to disturb Teacher Nina's sleep.

He walked into Teacher Nina's room. After not having been there for a week, the room had become much messier, so Jacob put on an apron and cleaned it carefully while also preparing a hearty breakfast for Teacher Nina.

Jacob had researched a 30-day recovery meal plan the night before, and from today onward, he would cook strictly according to the recipes to help restore Teacher Nina's health. He was determined to help her regain her strength.

As for Nina herself, she was so exhausted that she didn't even notice the presence of another person in the house. Plus, today was the weekend and she didn't have to teach, so she was still sound asleep.

After waiting for two hours, Jacob finished cooking breakfast and cleaning the house. It was also approaching lunchtime, so Jacob walked to Teacher Nina's bedroom and knocked on the door.

"Knock knock."

"Teacher Nina, it's time to eat."

Nina was awakened from her sleep by the knocking. Her first reaction was to wonder who had entered her house. But when she clearly heard Jacob's voice, she breathed a sigh of relief. It was only Jacob. A moment later, she realized why Jacob was here again.

"You... why are you here again? When did you arrive?" Nina's brain was still foggy from sleep, and she was a little confused.

"I came to check on you. You haven't cleaned the house for a week, and it's messy again. Well, it's been three days, actually." Nina hired a cleaning service every Wednesday, but the place was dirty again after just three days.

Jacob continued speaking to Nina through the door: "Get up and have breakfast first."

Nina hurriedly got up, looked at her haggard reflection in the mirror, washed her face, and applied makeup, including bright lipstick to avoid Jacob noticing her exhaustion.

...

"Hey, Teacher Nina, do you even wear makeup when you sleep?" Jacob looked at Nina, who took half an hour to emerge from the bedroom, and teased with a smile. He had vaguely guessed why Teacher Nina had put on makeup and couldn't help but sigh again inwardly.

"What do you want so early in the morning?" Nina said unhappily. "You're trespassing."

"I know," Jacob replied with a fearless expression as he took out breakfast from the thermal container. "Your house is too messy. When you live alone, you have to do the housework yourself. And sleeping in on weekends without eating breakfast isn't good for your health. Come try this freshly made millet porridge."

"You came here so early just to tell me this?" Nina said irritably. "Just tell me what you really want to say."

"Nothing. Let's have breakfast together first. I'm still hungry." Jacob had gotten up early and hadn't eaten breakfast himself, so he'd prepared a simple meal for both of them.

The two sat at the dining table eating breakfast. This unusual scene made Nina feel a warmth in her heart. She hadn't shared breakfast with anyone for a very long time.

When they were almost finished with the meal, Jacob put down his chopsticks, turned to look at Nina, and stared at her.

Nina was truly beautiful, with delicate features that seemed carefully sculpted, long hair, and a tall, model-like figure. Even standing next to him, she was only half a head shorter. Most striking was her slender waist, though in the past few days, Nina had become noticeably thinner. From her appearance alone, there was no flaw to be found in her beauty.

Perhaps because Jacob's gaze was too intense, Nina felt a little embarrassed. She pretended to brush the hair beside her ear and continued eating breakfast, feigning nonchalance.

The breakfast Jacob had prepared was actually quite delicious—good enough that he could easily work as a professional chef if he wanted to.

"Why are you staring at me?" Nina felt uncomfortable under Jacob's burning gaze. Finally, she couldn't help but raise her head to look at him and ask.

"Teacher Nina, I saw you in the incubator last night," Jacob said directly without hesitation. "I saw you using your special abilities to heal Axew's Pokémon egg. Is this harmful to your health?"

Nina panicked when she heard Jacob's words, but her face remained calm. "You must have seen wrong."

"I definitely can't be mistaken." Jacob looked directly at Nina. "Answer me first—is this harmful to your body?"

"I said you saw wrong, you saw wrong!" Nina's voice suddenly rose several notches. She felt her mind was in chaos, and she was secretly annoyed at herself. She hadn't been careful last night and was discovered by Jacob.

Looking at Nina's current demeanor and remembering her weakened state from the previous night, Jacob spoke solemnly, calmly, and seriously: "Teacher Nina, compared to Axew's Pokémon egg, your health is most important. I saw how weak you were after treating Axew yesterday, and I don't want you to continue doing this."

"Don't worry about me, this is just a minor issue," Nina finally admitted. "I just need to rest for two days and I'll be fine."

"Even minor issues aren't acceptable!" Jacob looked at Nina with a commanding expression. "Eat up, and then go back to rest immediately."

"Jacob, listen to me." Nina felt a little strange facing such a forceful side of Jacob for the first time, but her tone softened, with a hint of tenderness. "Your Pokémon will hatch in just three days. This isn't a big problem for me. Besides, I've already taken leave recently. I can recover by resting at home. If you have time to worry about me, you'd be better off spending more time training to get good results in the College Cup. Don't embarrass my father."

"Don't overthink this. I did this purely because my father asked me to look after you. Don't feel any psychological burden," Nina pretended to be casual and attributed her actions to Maximus's request. "Do you think I wanted to do this? If my father hadn't asked me to, I wouldn't care about Axew's Pokémon egg! And you must keep this a secret for me. You are not allowed to reveal what you saw yesterday."

Looking at the stubborn Nina, Jacob found her attitude a little ridiculous, but more than anything, he was touched by her actions.
