Pokémon: A Trainer Who Masters the Six Powers from the Start

Chapter 150: Chapter 150: Mistaken Encounters

While Ron immersed himself in perfecting his Machamp's mastery of Finger Pistol, Lukino was tirelessly searching for Ron's whereabouts.

Upon returning to his family, Dunn Wade began mobilizing all his funds and resources to hire someone capable of assassinating Ron.

It didn't matter to Dunn whether the person was a member of Team Rocket, a Pokémon hunter, or even from the League—he only cared about Ron's death. It was the only way he could prove to his father, Hudson Wade, that he didn't need to rely on the family's power. Dunn believed he could handle Ron independently, even more thoroughly than his family ever could.

What Dunn didn't realize was that his so-called covert operation was as transparent as daylight to his father.

After all, Dunn's only commendable trait in Hudson's eyes was being the second son of the Wade family. Nothing Dunn did could escape his father's sharp perception.

Hudson understood Dunn's actions clearly. While there was undoubtedly hatred toward Ron, Dunn's greater motive was his yearning to prove himself.

For years, Hudson had focused solely on grooming his eldest son, Nass Wade, neglecting Dunn's growth. Now that Dunn was older, Hudson didn't mind giving him a chance.

As for Ron, Hudson saw him as insignificant.

The best outcome would be Ron's death—a genius cut short. Without evidence, any accusation would amount to nothing more than baseless claims.

The worst-case scenario? Ron survives and discovers that Dunn was behind the attempt.

In that case, Hudson could easily handle the situation. A mid Elite Pokémon Trainer was hardly a threat in Hudson's eyes; he could manipulate Ron however he pleased.

Following Hudson's silent approval and subtle assistance, Dunn enlisted Lukino, a top-tier mid Elite assassin known as the "Thousand Faces."

Lukino was a master of disguise, even capable of impersonating League trainers. To this day, no one had seen his true face, and even his name was said to be an alias.

Dunn didn't care about these details. All he wanted to know was whether Lukino could kill Ron.

After a brief hesitation, Lukino accepted the mission.

Unlike Dunn, Lukino had access to more comprehensive information about Ron and quickly realized his exceptional abilities.

From the start of his journey, Ron hadn't suffered a single defeat—not even during the mass pursuit in Saffron City. Despite being outnumbered, Ron emerged unscathed, while his pursuers suffered significant losses.

It was worth noting that Ron had only been at the initial elite level at the time.

Particularly impressive was Ron's training method, which greatly enhanced his Pokémon's speed, allowing him to overcome formidable foes repeatedly.

Other mid elite assassins might have refused the mission.

Assassins rely not just on strength but on delivering a lethal strike when least expected.

Adhering to the principles of speed, precision, and ruthlessness, assassins often employ methods like poison or other covert tactics.

However, most of these tactics were rendered useless against Ron's Kirlia, which was why many killers declined to take the job.

Lukino, on the other hand, was intrigued. He wanted to test just how strong Ron was, given his meteoric rise in merely six months of traveling.

This led to today's encounter, with Lukino trailing Ron into the Safari Zone. Lukino had deliberately chosen the Safari Zone as Ron's final resting place.

Whether it would truly serve that purpose depended on Ron's luck.

When Lukino entered the Safari Zone, Ron was already far ahead, so Lukino decided to head toward the lake where the legendary Dratini was rumored to dwell.

If he couldn't find Ron there, Lukino would lie in wait outside the Safari Zone.

Lukino also stationed people outside the zone to alert him the moment Ron left.

Unknowingly heading in the right direction, Lukino gradually closed in on Ron.

As wisps of smoke curled into the sky, Ron, having finished testing his Machamp's Finger Pistol technique, felt hunger creeping in.

In record time, he prepared a slightly extravagant lunch and began feasting with Machamp and his other Pokémon.

It had become a tradition for Ron to prepare a hearty meal to reward his Pokémon after significant breakthroughs.

What Ron didn't know was that someone was watching him.

Spotting the smoke, Lukino flew into the air on his Fearow, using binoculars to confirm that the smoke's source was indeed Ron.

Having found his target, Lukino quickly calmed himself and began setting up a plan.

With Ron's Kirlia around, many of Lukino's methods were ineffective.

His only option was to predict Ron's route and set a trap ahead of time.

Lukino was now 80-90% certain that Ron was headed for the lake of Dratini's legend, giving him more room to maneuver.

Before making any moves, Lukino needed to confirm Ron's path further.

After finishing lunch, Ron resumed his journey. Kirlia instinctively expanded her psychic abilities to test her range.

Her range had grown by one meter to over 500 meters, which pleased her greatly.

She then tried extending her psychic field upward, but her effective range shrank to around 400 meters as the height increased.

During her tests, Kirlia unexpectedly detected Lukino and Fearow in the air.

Recalling Ron's earlier warning to be wary of suspicious individuals, Kirlia used telepathy to inform him.

Ron's expression remained unchanged as he continued walking with his Pokémon, but he secretly instructed Kirlia to lock onto their stalker and determine if they were following him.

After traveling for some time, Ron deliberately altered his path. When the pursuer maintained a consistent distance of around 300 meters, Ron was certain he was being followed.

For such individuals, Ron's approach was straightforward—subdue first and ask questions later. If Kirlia detected malicious intent during the process, the outcome would be fatal for the stalker.

The pursuer's cautious distance suggested they were aware of Kirlia's capabilities.

Unfortunately for them, they underestimated Kirlia's exceptional psychic talent. Otherwise, Ron might not have discovered them and could have been ambushed.

Now that their hidden advantage was gone, Ron wouldn't hold back.

Finding a dense forest, Ron headed straight into it.

Ron wasn't one to wait for a fight; he preferred to strike first.
