Pokémon: A Trainer Who Masters the Six Powers from the Start

Chapter 149: Chapter 149: Mastering Finger Pistol!

"No need? What do you mean, no need?"

Tightly clutching his phone, Dunn's gaze burned as he stared at the infuriating message displayed on the screen.

Ever since Ron had left, Dunn's efforts to purchase a Qualification Badge had met with endless roadblocks.

Those who saw the Indigo League as their one-way ticket to success would never willingly give up their badges for mere resources.

Coupled with the League's strict policies, no one dared to openly sell their Qualification Badge to Dunn.

Just as Ron had anticipated, even if someone wanted to sell, they would do so discreetly, avoiding any public transactions.

Repeated failures only fueled Dunn's resentment toward Ron, blaming him for refusing to sell his supposedly "useless" Qualification Badge.

After much hesitation, Dunn decided to bring the matter to his father's attention.

Perhaps shaken by Ron's reputation, Dunn's goal was to use the Wade family's influence to teach Ron a harsh lesson and force him to hand over the Qualification Badge.

Little did he know, his father and older brother both found his idea laughable.

For a family's long-term prosperity, maintaining favorable relations with talented trainers was crucial. If conflict was inevitable, it was better to either mend the relationship or eliminate the threat entirely.

But Dunn's plan—to antagonize someone and then let them off the hook—was the epitome of foolishness.

When his father, Hudson Wade, learned from the family's bodyguards about Dunn's approach to purchasing the badge, he could not help but laugh in disbelief.

Recalling his frequent business trips during his wife's pregnancy with Dunn, Hudson even began to suspect their familial ties and discreetly planned a paternity test.

At the same time, Hudson firmly rejected Dunn's request to trouble Ron and forbade him from continuing his misguided attempts to purchase the badge.

In his response, Hudson's words dripped with both disappointment and exasperation at his son's foolishness: "There's no need for such nonsense."

"Master Dunn, the family head has requested your immediate return," said Frith, Dunn's bodyguard, in a calm tone once Dunn had calmed down.

Compared to his elder brother, Dunn was clearly far less capable.

"I understand. Let's go."

Contrary to Frith's expectations, Dunn did not erupt in anger. Instead, he calmly left the League Certification Center.

"If they think this is unnecessary, I'll show them I don't need the family's influence to deal with Ron," Dunn thought, his face betraying no emotion.

"No… I'll make sure he dies!"

Rage simmered within him, and a sinister plan began to take shape: hiring someone to assassinate Ron with his wealth.

Ironically, had Dunn proposed this plan to Hudson from the beginning, he might have received partial family support to take down Ron.

In that case, even with his strength, Ron would have struggled against the Wade family's might.

Now, with Dunn acting alone, Ron's chances of survival increased significantly.

Several days later, Ron entered the Safari Zone, his target clear: the largest lake, rumored to be home to Dragonair and Dratini.

Shortly after entering, Ron encountered a cheerful individual radiating warmth, who pulled out a Pokédex to record the encounter.

As was standard, the Safari Zone required all entrants to be certified League trainers.

Carrying his set of 30 Safari Balls, Ron strolled leisurely through the forest, releasing Machamp and his other Pokémon without any urgency to catch wild Pokémon.

Unless a Pokémon was particularly well-suited to his team, Ron had no intention of capturing it.

Around noon, Ron found an open area to prepare lunch.

While he cooked, Machamp practiced the Finger Pistol technique.

Back at the League Certification Center, Machamp had felt that he was only a step away from mastering the move, needing just one final push.

Standing before a massive tree, Machamp concentrated, channeling all his strength into his fingertips.

As his fingers hardened rapidly, Machamp released an explosive strike.

In an instant, the tree in front of him was pierced, a clean hole running through its trunk.

In awe of his success, Machamp quickly revisited the sensation.

With the experience of his first successful attempt, Machamp grew increasingly adept at executing Finger Pistol.

Strike after strike, his speed and power improved, until the once-sturdy tree collapsed under his relentless assault.

The commotion didn't escape Ron's notice. Seeing Machamp's excited expression, Ron immediately understood.

"Machamp, have you mastered Finger Pistol?" Ron asked eagerly.

Persian and the others turned their attention to Machamp, their curiosity piqued.

Regaining his composure, Machamp strode confidently to another tree and demonstrated the move once more. The clean hole in the trunk left everyone speechless.

"That's amazing!" Ron exclaimed.

Putting his cooking on hold, Ron began gathering durable materials to test Machamp's newfound skill.

Although Machamp had just mastered Finger Pistol, Ron knew it would take time to refine the technique, enhancing its power and speed.

Before entering the Safari Zone, Ron had anticipated this moment and prepared various materials, from stones of varying hardness to sheets of steel.

Starting with the weakest material, Machamp's Finger Pistol easily pierced through, steadily progressing to tougher challenges.

By the end, Machamp successfully punctured a steel plate, signifying his complete mastery of the technique.

The next step was to continue practicing, increasing proficiency and exploring potential derivative moves.
