Chapter 250: Endless Struggle (Subscription Requested)
Just as the people in the Investigation Hall were considering who might fend off the attacks of the divine dragon, the sound of steel snapping interrupted everyone's plans for action.
Fafnir, who was preparing to attack others after bypassing his nephew's corpse, turned his neck in confusion to look behind him. He saw the entire form of the giant silver dragon statue turning crimson and beginning to crack. Realizing things had gone awry, he tried to turn around, but it was too late. The head of Salafam was the first to shatter, and from the open dragon mouth spewed out an astonishing Dragon Breath, roaring as it shot at Fafnir.
When Fafnir turned to retaliate, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his back. Glancing sideways, he noticed the damn Golden-winged Roc had somehow disengaged from its fight with Pelidron, seizing the opportunity to dive from the sky, its talon-like claws fiercely digging into the muscles of his back and tearing away a large chunk of flesh.
An enraged Fafnir turned his head to spew venom, but his head was struck, throwing off his aim. The Golden-winged Roc took the opportunity to rise and then suddenly flapped its wings, sending countless steel feathers shooting down into Fafnir's back amid a violent gust of wind.
At that moment, Salafam's Dragon Breath also arrived as expected. Under attack from three sides, Fafnir's huge body was in great pain as it staggered and, amid the trembling and roaring of the earth, fell to the ground.
As pieces of iron shattered on his body, Salafam finally broke free. His scales were entirely crimson, glowing and releasing waves of heat as he walked, forcing those around to retreat and keeping them from approaching.
Salafam, freed and filled with the fire of revenge, wasted no time and in the blink of an eye was beside Fafnir. Flapping his wings, he raised his forelimbs and then struck down hard.
With inertia, his gigantic body heavily knocked the struggling Fafnir back down. Blood flowed from Fafnir's back, pierced by steel feathers, and under this crushing weight, he let out a mournful cry. His dragon head stubbornly lifted to spit venom but was bitten on the neck by Salafam.
Seeing the two gleaming Dragon Balls under his nephew's jaw, Fafnir's voice roared in anguish and anger: "Your father actually gave you that! That was mine! Mine!!!"
Salafam also utilized magic to vibrate and roar in dragon language in response: "Now it is mine!"
"You coward hiding under your father's wings! Did you really think I couldn't deal with you?" With those words, Fafnir, whose neck was bleeding, kept shaking his head, battering his opponent. Simultaneously, his dragon tail tip began to swell, and in an instant, a small dragon head formed. Swinging his thick dragon tail, the small dragon head fiercely bit into Salafam's rear.
Feeling the bite, Salafam experienced numbness spreading from his back, loosening his grasp. Taking the chance to breathe, Fafnir exerted force and threw his nephew off him again. The two giant dragons began to grapple once more.
Seeing the scenario unfold, Mei Simiao, who had previously ambushed Fafnir twice, was ready to activate his inner source and join the fray again, when suddenly he heard the threatening sound of piercing wind from behind. Without looking back, he activated the Wind and Fire Wheel under his feet and quickly darted to the left. When he steadied himself and looked back, he saw more than a dozen ice spikes pierced where he had just stood.
"Your opponent is me!"
Following the voice, Mei Simiao met Sara's cold gaze. The witch had somehow emerged from the dark depths again, now wearing even less, having removed her shirt and leaving only a thin undershirt. A beautiful necklace hung around her white neck, with a dazzling ruby pendant swaying above her chest as she elegantly moved her arms.
"Perfectly fitting my intent!" Mei Simiao, uninterested in admiring Sara's graceful form, cautiously watched her with the Heaven and Earth Circle in one hand and the Chaotic Heaven Silk in the other.
"You have quite the collection of alchemic equipment. Looks like I'll need to get serious, or else the alchemists in the Magic Realm will be underestimated," Sara chuckled, mimicking grabbing something from nowhere, producing a small metal puppet out of thin air to casually toss on the ground.
Before the metal puppet hit the ground, Mei Simiao's figure had already darted to Sara's side. The Chaotic Heaven Silk extended with the wind, wrapping around her body as he raised the Heaven and Earth Circle high, aiming to slam it onto her head.
Clang! A piercing metal clash sounded. Mei Simiao felt his hand holding the Heaven and Earth Circle go numb, involuntarily stepping back. Before him, a Valkyrie, fully covered in armor, had raised her shield with her left hand to block his attack, thrusting her longsword toward his chest with her right hand.
Mei Simiao quickly activated the Wind and Fire Wheel to retreat, narrowly avoiding the thrust. As he retracted the Chaotic Heaven Silk, the metal Valkyrie did not pursue and waited for him to regain his stance. Next, Sara extended her arms, causing the puppet's heavy armor to crack open layer by layer, piece by piece attaching to her body.
When the last helmet was donned, merging them completely, the puppet's dull eyes suddenly opened wide with radiant spirit. This wasn't all; a sound of metal scraping accompanied as wings of steel extended back, one after another. When the three pairs of wings were fully formed, Sara lightly shook them, provocatively raising the longsword toward Mei Simiao.
How could Mei Simiao avoid the battle with the Chaotic Heaven Silk draped behind him, the Heaven and Earth Circle hanging around his neck? He cried out, "Fire-tipped Spear!" Holding a long spear, and treading on the Wind and Fire Wheel, his form turned into a stream of light, charging forward.
Clang, clang, clang, the prolonged clash of spear against shield and longsword produced resounding harmony. As the fight intensified, the Fire-tipped Spear in Mei Simiao's hands became fiercer, and its shaft turned increasingly red-hot and suffocatingly hot, each jab piercing with a fiery red glow.
After the initial dozens of blows, Sara's shield was poked with dents and pits. Seeing this, she shivered, and her first pair of wings fluttered slightly. Mei Simiao, hearing the rumble of thunder and the whistle of wind, barely dodged before lightning struck him, shattering three or four layers of his protective inner source.
While boosting his body's inner source and maneuvering the Chaotic Heaven Silk to guard, Sara's second pair of wings moved again. A powerful gust covertly entangled countless Wind Blades, swirling toward him, blowing him unsteady, and his body swept with scars from the Wind Blades.
Not yet finished, all three pairs of wings flapped simultaneously, blending fiery flames, explosive thunder, and vicious gales into a potent dark purple airstream, all striking Mei Simiao.
Boom! Amid the deafening explosion, Mei Simiao's body was engulfed by the airflow, shooting straight into the distance and crashing heavily onto a broken mountain, collapsing half its side, burying him in rubble.
