Chapter 249: Battle of the Giant Dragon (Please Subscribe)

This Sea Serpent, despite appearing gigantic in the ocean, was like a dwarf before a giant in comparison to the massive bodies of the two dragons. Salafam, considering such a lowly creature with barely opened intelligence beneath notice, couldn't even bother to glance at it as he stomped down with his foot.

Suddenly subjected to a heavy blow, the Sea Serpent, which was already exhausted and gravely wounded, experienced a final surge of vitality. The intense will to survive made it lose its last shred of sanity, forgetting the deep-seated fear of the powerful creature before it. Seizing the moment, it coiled its long body around the dragon's leg and, without hesitation, sank its bloodthirsty fangs into it.

The pain in its leg infuriated Salafam immensely, prompting him to lower his head and unleash a roaring Dragon Breath. The Sea Serpent, not willing to be outdone, opened its mouth to spew a torrent of venom upwards. However, compared to the Dragon's Breath, this venom was insignificant. After a brief moment of nauseating toxic smoke where the two collided, the Sea Serpent's venom was depleted, and in its weakened state, its large body was soon engulfed in flames.

Burnt to the point of flesh and skin being torn, the Sea Serpent made a desperate struggle, wrapping ever tighter around the dragon's body. Seeing no escape, Salafam lowered his dragon head and bit into the Sea Serpent. This momentary distraction provided Fafnir with the opportunity to attack, as he seized the chance to sink his teeth into Salafam's dragon neck.

Roar! The mournful dragon's cry echoed through the air. Salafam, struck at a vulnerable point, abandoned the Sea Serpent beneath him, fiercely flapping his wings to fly backwards, desperately clawing at Fafnir's dragon head, leaving scars on it. As blood splattered, Fafnir, unwilling to relinquish the chance to kill his nephew in one strike, exerted even more force on his jaws.

Thud! Thud! Thud! With each blow landing, Fafnir felt a wave of dizziness assault his dragon head, compounded by Salafam's vigorous resistance. He finally couldn't endure it and released his sizable jaws, looking aside to see a child wielding a bronze ring, repeatedly slamming it against him. Thwarted and furious, he roared in low Dragon Language, "Pathetic and foolish alien monkey!" After which he opened his dragon mouth, spewing venom ferociously towards Mei Simiao.

Seeing this, Mei Simiao realized that this venom was far more potent than that of the Sea Serpent. Not daring to overestimate himself, he urgently yelled, "Wind and Fire Wheel!" As soon as the words left his mouth, a pair of Wind and Fire Wheels formed under his feet, crafted from condensing internal energy. Within a heartbeat, Mei Simiao propelled himself several hundred meters away, out of the venom's range.

Fafnir flapped his wings to launch another attack against the opponent, only to be interrupted by an opportunistic Salafam. As the saying goes, "to reciprocate a kindness," Salafam imitated his approach by tearing the nearly lifeless Sea Serpent into several segments and thrashing forward with two powerful dragon claws, fiercely targeting the old scars on Fafnir's body.

The already fragile surface at the old wounds could not withstand the renewed assault, causing the wounds to rupture, flesh to turn outward, and blood to gush out. Howling in pain, Fafnir turned his head to face his nephew again, flapping his wings to leap into the air. As his front claws grasped at the empty air, the surrounding atmosphere seemed to freeze repeatedly. The ground began trembling, opening and closing fissures as Fafnir's powerful tremors and the forces of spatial self-repair clashed against each other!

All individuals nearby, whether friend or foe, were shaken to their core by the powerful tremors, with their Qi Blood surging within them. The weakest, Fu Rui, was even knocked down from her phantasmal hiding place, coughing up blood and nearly fainting.

Taking advantage of Salafam's momentary immobilization, as he was frozen in place, Fafnir began to chant Dragon Language from his throat. A spatial rift was forcibly created in the skies above, as a flood of energy from the Spirit Monster Realm gushed forth from the rift towards Fafnir's body. The overly powerful, rampant alien energy consolidated into a tangible form, thrashing violently within the space.

Mei Simiao attempted multiple times to approach Fafnir, only to be repelled by the immense energy. Witnessing the increasingly rapid casting speed of the Dragon Language magic, and the energy within him reaching terrifying levels, everyone present realized that even killing Fafnir now would not prevent the Dragon Language magic from descending. They had no choice but to stop fighting, jumping aside and employing their own survival skills.

Mu Fanchen, no longer engaged in battle, whether out of a guilty conscience or appreciation of Fu Rui's abilities, leapt to her side in a few bounds, enveloping the two in a protective shield formed by internal energy. As soon as he finished, Fafnir's incantation reached its conclusion.

As the final syllable of the Dragon Language ended, the world dramatically shifted. The rift in the sky widened further, and Fu Rui, huddled under Mu Fanchen's protection, suddenly felt the space she occupied expand infinitely as the rift enlarged. Before she could adapt, the screeching sound of boulders slicing through the air emanated from above the rift, followed by an earth-shaking boom as a powerful shock wave swept up clouds of dust tens of meters high. Laying on the ground, she was tossed high into the air, her vision blackening as she lost consciousness.

Unclear how much time had passed, her internal energy inexplicably stimulated her essence, repairing her body. Fu Rui awoke slowly, opening her eyes. The first thing she saw was the broad and imposing figure of a one-armed man. Turning her head, she realized that they seemed to be buried together under debris, with little flickers of fire peeking through the gaps in the rubble.

Mu Fanchen noticed her awakening but said nothing, forcefully using one arm to shatter the rocks keeping them trapped. As the debris broke and scattered, he dusted off the dirt on his body and coldly stated, "No need to join the fight, take care of yourself; you'll be needed later!" With those words, he strode out of the ruins without looking back.

Thanks to Mu Fanchen's protection, Fu Rui was not seriously injured. She massaged her sore waist and painfully aching knees, adjusting her physical state. Using her waist for support, she stood up and climbed the rubble pile to observe her surroundings, immediately shocked by the scene before her.

The vast battlefield was now devastated, with burning debris covering half of it. As intense flames cast light, one by one, strong figures emerged from the pits, ruins, and flames. At the heart of the battlefield stood a towering dragon, reaching towards the sky.

Salafam was first buried in countless iron rocks, which were then incinerated by intense heat, transforming into molten iron streams that enveloped his body. At that moment, he seemed like a dragon statue cloaked in a thick, silver armor, unable to move.

Fafnir, the instigator of all this, adopted the posture of a victor, slowly circling the 'work of art' he created. His ferocious gaze arrogantly scanned the area, the heavy Dragon Breath exhaled showcasing his formidable power.

Though infuriated by his indiscriminate attacks on allies and foes alike, the people from the Divine Will faction chose to swallow their anger in light of his remarkable strength and having eliminated a key enemy combatant. They then redirected their attention towards the surviving members of the Investigation Hall; this battle was far from over.
