Chapter 27: Ch 27. Overlord of the East Blue, the Grand Line
A dark shadow flickered through the air—
Kalifa pounced straight into Roman's embrace!
"Admiral, sir~" she chirped sweetly, eyes sparkling with excitement. "I've already received direct orders from Fleet Admiral Sengoku! I'll be your adjutant from now on~ I'll make sure you're well taken care of on the journey~ comfy and relaxed~"
Roman's expression twitched slightly as he looked at her.
Lately… something was definitely off about Kalifa. She'd been finding every excuse to throw herself at him.
"Alright, Kalifa, go get ready. We're heading out immediately."
"So sudden?"
"Of course. Justice waits for no one!"
Meanwhile, the gravity of the newspaper was still shaking the world.
Ohara.
Freshly done from finishing another round of training with her Devil Fruit, Robin nestled in Olvia's arms, her wide eyes fixed on the newspaper in her hand.
"The Marines' Three Admirals Announced! White Dove Roman Stands at the Forefront as the Strongest!"
That bold headline dominated the page.
Robin's gaze trailed downward… and landed on the photo.
It was her first time seeing what Roman looked like, yet something deep inside told her—
That's him. That's really big brother, Roman.
After all, in this vast world… how many people even had that name?
Nearly none.
"Mom… when will big brother Roman come back to see us?"
Robin looked up with glimmering eyes, her voice soft, full of longing.
Olvia smiled gently. "Soon, Robin. Your big brother Roman will come to see you very soon."
Robin nodded lightly, her eyes once again drawn to Roman's photo. A small, unconscious smile tugged at the corners of her lips.
Amazon Lily.
Thanks to the Kuja's unique training methods, Hancock had already awakened her Conqueror's Haki!
Now, she could go toe-to-toe with the current empress using her Devil Fruit powers—a true prodigy among prodigies.
But thinking about it, even in the original timeline, Hancock was always strong enough to make the rankings.
At that moment, Gloriosa approached her.
Hancock glanced at her and asked coldly, "News of Roman?"
"Yes, it's all in this newspaper."
The moment she heard that, Hancock's icy demeanor melted instantly.
Her cheeks flushed pink as she snatched the newspaper.
The moment her eyes fell on Roman's image, her heart nearly burst with joy.
"Roman! I have finally have news of you!"
Gloriosa watched in silent disbelief as Hancock rubbed her face against Roman's picture in the paper.
Her already wrinkled face twisted further in exasperation.
"Hancock," she said sternly.
"Roman has now joined the Marines. I can't even guess what his goal is. If we're going to approach him in the future, we need to be extremely cautious!"
"So what if he joined the Marines?" Hancock snapped back without hesitation. "Roman has his reasons! He saved my life! Even if he wants to take it back, I won't complain!"
She stared coldly at Gloriosa.
"Are you trying to drive a wedge between us?"
Her tone turned frostier than the Arctic sea. "Anyone who insults Roman… is my enemy!"
As she spoke, her long, slender legs—already wrapped in Armament Haki—launched Gloriosa into the sky with a single, but elegant kick.
Meanwhile, somewhere on the open sea—
Howling winds screamed across the ocean.
Torrential rain pelted down as mountainous waves surged higher and higher!
The Grand Line's infamous weather mood swings were on full display.
Within that chaotic storm, a fleet of over 50 pirate ships sailed forward across the raging sea.
Yet, compared to the violent ocean, their ships looked like helpless toys.
"Captain Krieg! Ship No. 34 is flooding badly!"
"Captain Krieg! Ship No. 12's mast broke! If we don't evacuate the crew, they'll die out there!"
"Captain Krieg—"
Standing at the bow, Krieg gripped his massive golden battle spear, Daisenso, his face shrouded in darkness as reports kept pouring in.
He had sailed confidently from the East Blue into the Grand Line with confidence, planning to carve his name into history—
But the moment he entered the Grand Line, disaster struck.
"Abandon the damaged ships," he growled.
"Abandon them?! But Captain Krieg! That'll weaken our forces—"
"Weaken?" Krieg laughed coldly. "It's just a few ships—four, five hundred men, tops!"
He raised his battle spear, Daisenso, high.
"We are a fleet of five thousand! Losing a few hundred changes nothing!"
"Yes, sir. Understood, Captain Krieg!"
As his subordinates retreated, Krieg stared into the stormy sea, burning with pride and ambition.
"This is the Grand Line… the dream destination of every pirate."
"If I conquer it… I'll be worthy of the title 'Pirate King!'"
"So what I lose a few hundred men? Hmph. I'll just replace them at the next island!"
To Krieg, strength was in numbers.
So long as he had enough people, even giants could be buried under the weight.
It was through this belief that he had made himself the ruler of the East Blue.
But what he didn't know was—
He was nothing more than a frog at the bottom of a well.
The storm faded as quickly as it came.
Half an hour later, the calm returned.
"Captain Krieg, we lost six ships and 672 men in total."
Another report followed: "Also… a Marine warship is fast approaching. It's larger than normal—doesn't look like the ones we've seen before!"
"One warship? Can we estimate its crew?"
"About a hundred people, based on the navigator's report."
"Just a hundred?! On one warship?" Krieg burst into laughter. "They're here to deliver us a new ship!"
With a slight brandish of his golden spear, he roared, "All ships, listen up! Do NOT fire! Surround that warship—I'm taking it for myself!"
"CAPTAIN KRIEG IS MIGHTY!"
"CAPTAIN KRIEG IS MIGHTY!"
"CAPTAIN KRIEG IS MIGHTY!"
The cheers erupted like thunder with excitement, echoing across the waves.
