One Piece: My Crew Members Are Legendary 3D Heroines

Chapter 28: Chapter 28: The Dashing Captain

Mona wasn't the type to have trouble sleeping in a new bed. Perhaps it was the sheer exhaustion of arriving in a foreign world, but she slept soundly through the night, completely undisturbed by the gentle rocking of the ship, the crashing of waves, or the soaring chorus that echoed up from the lower deck.

She slept straight through to morning.

Still bleary-eyed, she got up, combed her hair, changed into clothes, and made her way to the washroom. Only after washing up did she head to the galley.

Breakfast had already been prepared: crispy bacon and fried eggs, toasted bread, fresh lettuce, steamed eel, and a tall glass of milk.

Far more luxurious than any breakfast Mona had ever had.

This world was rich in material abundance too rich. Sooner or later, it would drown people in their own desires, blinding them to the truth hidden behind the stars.

Still, Mona didn't hold back in the slightest. She slathered jam on the toast, layered it with lettuce, a fried egg, two strips of bacon, and two slices of eel, then topped it with another piece of toast. With one bite, a burst of complex flavors exploded in her mouth. Pure bliss.

Her appetite wasn't particularly large, and by the time she'd finished that overstuffed sandwich, she was so full she hiccuped.

"Drink your milk too," Ethan Chen said, nodding toward the tall glass in front of her. "I bought that fresh from the street this morning. You're still growing finish it."

Mona instantly recalled what he'd said last night: that she had nothing but ribs. Suspicious, she glanced up at him.

Catching her look, Ethan didn't beat around the bush. "Meat, eggs, milk. That's how you grow strong, you know? Sailing is hard work. You've got barely any meat on your bones. If you don't bulk up, once we're out at sea, you'll be in real trouble."

"I just... my fat's distributed unevenly, that's all," Mona murmured, trying to defend herself. She wanted to say 2B was the same way, her lower half far curvier than her upper half but thought better of it and swallowed the words.

As a proper maiden, she simply couldn't go around casually discussing her body with a man.

Annoyed, she picked up the glass and downed half of it in one go any more and she'd burst.

After breakfast, they sat around for a while before Ethan heard voices shouting from outside the ship. He went to check and saw the dockworkers had finished repairing the sails and brought them back to install.

Leaning casually on the railing, Ethan watched them work and made small talk with the dock supervisor, asking him to top off their freshwater reserves.

Once the sails were hoisted and the water tanks refilled, Ethan left a support drone to watch the ship, then took 2B and Mona ashore.

First stop was to buy Mona some clothes. While she browsed the racks, Ethan wandered over to the hosiery section to pick out stockings for 2B.

Even though this world's industry wasn't highly developed, their textiles were surprisingly high-quality.

The stockings were all made of cotton or silk not synthetic chemical fibers and very reasonably priced.

Ethan picked up several pairs in various styles: black, white, thigh-highs, garters, fishnets.

Watching Ethan boldly browse women's intimate wear left Mona blushing furiously. She pretended not to know him.

This captain really had no shame.

After buying Mona's clothes, they headed to the town bookstore. There, Ethan stocked up on navigational manuals, blank sea charts, and all sorts of seafaring essentials for Mona to study.

Specialized materials didn't come cheap. By the time they loaded up a cart full of professional reference books, Ethan had dropped over a million Berries a hefty splurge.

And not all of it was for navigation. A large portion of the haul was on books about this world's astronomy.

Those were obscure and expensive, eating up a good chunk of the cost.

After they checked out, Ethan reached out and ruffled Mona's hair. "Master the basics of navigation before you dive into all that other stuff. Otherwise, I'll tan your butt."

"Got it," Mona said, brushing his hand away. "I'll keep my word. Worst case, I'll treat those astronomy books as borrowed, okay?"

"No need for that. Just don't waste my good intentions."

"Ugh, why do you make it sound so... suggestive?" Mona muttered, but despite herself, she felt a little happy.

Aside from being a bit pervy, this captain was actually pretty nice.

They had the bookstore owner send the books and clothes to the ship, then headed off to the marketplace to stock up on daily essentials fresh veggies, fruit, meat for the upcoming voyage.

After all, the ship's sails were repaired. No reason to stay in town any longer.

They had the market vendors deliver the supplies directly to the ship too. Seeing that it was nearing noon, they decided to have lunch in town before heading back to organize everything.

They returned to the same tavern they'd visited yesterday.

Ethan ordered a massive platter of braised meat, enough for three people, plus meat sauce noodles as the main dish. Beer for 2B, milk for Mona, and fruit juice for himself.

"Eat more meat, get your protein up," Ethan said, piling a large chunk of meat onto Mona's plate. "If it's not enough, just say so. Don't be shy."

Mona gave him a sideways glance, too tired to argue anymore.

Once they'd eaten their fill, they got up to leave.

Just outside the tavern, a few loud barks rang out, followed by the shifting expressions of pedestrians who parted and kept their heads down, as if something toxic was approaching.

A moment later, a man came into view flanked by two Navy soldiers and leading a vicious-looking wolf. He had a mop of garish blond bowl-cut hair, a face only a mother could love, and the arrogant swagger of a spoiled rich boy dressed in finery.

The moment Ethan saw that ridiculous haircut and ugly face, a name sprang to mind.

Helmeppo.

The son of Axe-Hand Morgan, the commanding officer of the 153rd Navy Branch.

Ethan hadn't expected to run into him just as they were preparing to leave.

What rotten luck.

He had no interest in causing trouble and quietly stepped to the side, planning to wait until Helmeppo passed.

But the three of them were strikingly attractive and stood out even without trying. They clearly didn't blend into the crowd.

Helmeppo noticed them immediately. His eyes lit up. Still holding the leash of his wolf, he grinned, swaggered over with his pigeon-toed gait, and made a beeline for Mona.

"My, what a lovely lady. Fate must have brought us together. How about you join me for lunch?"

Without waiting for a reply, he reached for her wrist.

Helmeppo, spoiled by his father's rank and used to abusing his status, saw nothing wrong with this behavior.

But it wasn't Mona's wrist he grabbed it was his own that got caught.

"You dare block me?" Helmeppo roared, furious. "Do you even know who I am? I'm the son of Navy Captain Morgan!"

"So what?" Ethan stepped forward, shielding the disgusted Mona behind him. "Do you have any idea what line you just crossed?"

The aura radiating from Ethan made Helmeppo flinch. Before he could react, a fist the size of a soup pot slammed into his banana-shaped face.

One punch. Sent flying.

Behind him, Mona looked up at Ethan's sharp, well-defined profile.

This captain... is kind of dreamy.
