One Piece: Magma of Absolute Justice

Chapter 28: 《One Piece: Magma of Absolute》Chapter 28: A Roar That Shakes Heaven and Earth

"Give me a ship! Now!!"

"I want a ship!"

"I want a ship!!!"

The pirate captain's bloodshot eyes bulged wildly, his words tumbling out in a frantic, broken stream. He clung to the children like a man dangling over an abyss, desperate for any hope of survival.

But fate had dealt him a cruel hand.

The Marines, having finished off the last of the pirates, closed in—forming an impenetrable ring around him. Not a single soldier showed the slightest hint of sympathy for his pleas.

"Don't move!"

"Aren't you Marines supposed to stand for justice?!"

"Don't you care about these brats I'm holding?!"

"Give me a ship! Hurry!!"

The pirate captain's voice cracked with terror as he looked into the eyes of the Marines—cold, unblinking, as if he were already a corpse. Fear gnawed at him, threatening to shatter his mind.

"You want a ship?"

A towering figure, nearly three meters tall, stepped forward.

The Marines parted silently, making way for Sakazuki.

"Y-yeah! That's right!" the pirate captain stammered, swallowing hard as he stared up at Sakazuki's imposing presence. He forced himself to shout, "Give me a ship!"

Sakazuki slowly raised his arm, extending a single finger. The pirate, confused but still clinging to hope, tried again, voice rising in panic.

"Hurry up and—!"

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Two sharp cracks split the air.

Suddenly, both of the pirate captain's arms exploded into a cloud of blood and bone.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"

He howled in agony.

But it wasn't over.

In the instant his arms burst apart—

Swish! Swish! Swish!

Three Marine officers flashed forward with Soru, appearing at his front and flanks.

The officer in front crouched to catch the children. The two on either side clamped down on the pirate captain's shoulders and, in perfect sync, drove their knees into his legs.

CRACK!

Both shins snapped forward at a sickening angle.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!"

"Cough... cough!!"

The Marine who had caught the children scooped up a stone from the ground. As the pirate captain writhed, the officer jammed the stone into his mouth.

"Report!"

"Rear Admiral Sakazuki."

"All pirates have been eliminated or captured."

"Battle complete."

"Awaiting your orders!"

The colonel who'd rescued the children finished off the pirate captain, then turned to Sakazuki and saluted.

"Split up. Some of you, inventory the supplies. When that's done, escort the pirates and the goods back to town. The rest—put out the fires."

"Yes, sir!"

Sakazuki gazed toward the town, where thick smoke still billowed. He issued his orders with calm precision, then led the remaining Marines toward the burning ruins to rescue any survivors.

The town was a sea of fire and ruin.

Charred rubble. Scattered corpses. Not a living soul in sight.

But as the Marines arrived and began dousing the flames, little by little, hope flickered back to life. From the shadows, a few trembling townsfolk peeked out, eyes wide with disbelief.

"The Marines!"

"The Marines are here!!"

"Waaahhh!!"

"Finally...!!"

With that, the dam broke. More and more survivors crawled from hiding, sobbing and wailing as if to purge the nightmare from their hearts.

Sakazuki had seen this scene too many times. He could only sigh inwardly. His face remained stone-cold as he directed the rescue, issuing orders without hesitation.

Most of his Marines had lived through this before. Each time, their eyes reddened, fists clenched at their sides.

When the townspeople had finally cried themselves out, Sakazuki ordered the supplies distributed to the survivors.

Life had to go on.

As for the pirate prisoners—they were herded into an open square.

Once the Marines had forced them to kneel in rows, Sakazuki handed a blade to every resident present.

"Please, let me go!"

"I'll never do it again!"

"Don't kill me—my baby can't even walk yet!"

"I swear I'll change!"

"Waaahhh!"

"I know where the captain hid his treasure! Spare me!"

"Spare me! It's all yours!!"

Their pleas rang out again and again, but against the backdrop of ruined homes and shattered lives, they sounded pitiful and hollow.

The townsfolk, clutching their swords, remembered loved ones lost—friends, family, neighbors—now reduced to scattered limbs and ashes.

Hatred brewed in their eyes, burning red.

Shlick! Shlick! Shlick!...

The sound of blades slicing flesh echoed, relentless and raw.

It was then that a small figure caught Sakazuki's eye.

A boy, barely waist-high, gripped a sword in trembling hands. He glared at the pirate captain with burning hatred, but couldn't bring himself to strike.

The pirate captain, noticing the boy's hesitation, managed to bare his teeth in a grotesque grin, lurching forward despite the stone in his mouth.

The boy flinched in terror, his grip slipping—about to drop the blade.

A large hand caught his own just in time, steadying him.

"Look over there."

Sakazuki knelt beside the boy, his deep voice rumbling as he pointed toward the ruins.

There, beneath the rubble, lay the graves of parents, friends, neighbors—all the gentle elders of the town.

The boy's composure shattered.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"

He screamed in anguish, eyes brimming with tears and fury as he stared at the pirate captain.

Sakazuki guided the boy's hand, driving the blade forward. Once, twice, three times... No one knew how long it lasted.

When it was over, the boy collapsed, drained and shaking. Only then did he realize—the Marine officer who'd held his hand was already gone.

The pirate captain before him was long dead.

"How's the situation?"

"Reporting, Rear Admiral Sakazuki—all civilians have been rescued, and the supplies have been tallied and distributed."

Sakazuki strode at the front, colonels flanking him as they made their way from the town toward the coast. He turned to the officer at his right.

"Assemble the men. We move to the next—"

He paused mid-sentence, suddenly stopping to glance back.

The others turned as well.

A small boy, still gasping for breath, came running toward them, sword in hand. Seeing Sakazuki pause, he pushed himself harder.

"Huff... huff... huff..."

Clang!

He finally reached Sakazuki, tossing his sword aside.

Thud!

He dropped to his knees, then slammed his head down onto the stone pavement.

THUNK!

When he looked up, blood streamed down his battered forehead.

"Please... let me join the Marines."

"Sir!"

The boy's eyes were fierce with resolve as he shouted.

"I'm not a general, kid," Sakazuki replied, his voice low and steady. He eyed the boy, then asked,

"Besides... give me a reason."

"I want to..."

The boy choked up, tears streaming down his cheeks.

"I want to..."

He tried to hold it in, but at last, the dam burst.

"I want to kill every pirate in this world!"

"Waaaaahhhhh!!"
