One Piece: Magma of Absolute Justice

Chapter 29: 《One Piece: Magma of Absolute》Chapter 29: Sea Circle Calendar Year 1486

Thud!

The boy, tears streaming down his face, pressed his forehead to the ground and stayed there, unmoving...

Tap, tap, tap...

A moment later, the sound of many footsteps faded into the distance.

Just as despair was about to swallow him whole, a cold, commanding voice rang out from ahead.

"Keep up."

Unlike the fickle, chaotic weather of the Grand Line, today's North Blue was blessed with rare perfection—brilliant sunshine, a gentle breeze, and calm seas.

A Marine warship sliced steadily through the tranquil waters, leaving a trail of ripples behind.

On the third deck, Sakazuki stood, surveying the soldiers training below. They came in all shapes and sizes—tall, short, stocky, skinny—but shared one thing in common: every single one of them was still a child.

Each had survived the horrors of a village or town wiped out by pirates. This was but a glimpse of the world's darkness—a shadow cast in plain sight.

In two years of patrolling and crushing pirates, Sakazuki had met far too many children like these.

Those who wished to join the Marines were sent to the nearest base. Every branch could take in a few—these were the seeds of the future, waiting to take root and grow strong.

But those with true talent or unbreakable will, Sakazuki kept with him aboard his own ship. He would train them personally, then send them to the main academy when they returned to Headquarters.

These gifted children would one day become the backbone of the Marines, carrying the weight of justice on their shoulders and striving toward the ideals in their hearts.

Buru buru, buru buru...

"Report, Vice Admiral Morris is calling."

The adjutant appeared, holding out a Den Den Mushi communicator.

Sakazuki accepted the call. "Vice Admiral Morris."

A hearty laugh burst from the Den Den Mushi, its face twisting into a perfect mimicry of Morris's broad grin.

"Hahahaha! Sakazuki, it's been too long!"

"Get ready to return to Headquarters."

"Your Vice Admiral appointment just came through. Come back for the inauguration ceremony."

He'd expected this, but Sakazuki couldn't help the faint upward twitch at the corner of his mouth. His usually cold tone carried a rare note of warmth as he replied:

"Understood."

"Hahahaha! Good, get ready. We'll celebrate when you get here."

Click!

The line went dead. The adjutant, having overheard, was nearly shaking with excitement.

Sakazuki glanced at him, then allowed himself a small smile. "Step up the training down there. We're holding a banquet tonight."

"Yes, sir!!"

The adjutant's voice was electric with excitement. With a whoosh, he vanished—using Soru to flash down to the lowest deck.

He shouted the news for all to hear: Sakazuki was being promoted to Vice Admiral, training would be ramped up, and tonight there'd be a feast.

"WOOOOAAAH!!"

A roar of joy thundered across the warship, so loud it sent a passing News Coo flapping in alarm, nearly tumbling from the sky.

Sea Circle Calendar, Year 1486

Marine Affairs:

After two years of relentless patrols and pirate suppression, Sakazuki's name had become legend throughout all Four Blues. Recognizing his strength and achievements, the higher-ups had awarded him the rank of Vice Admiral.

At the same time, Zephyr triumphed over Morris in their competition and was promoted to Admiral, code-named Black Arm. His reputation as the "Admiral Who Doesn't Kill" echoed across the seas.

Meanwhile, the future Marine Vice Admiral, White Hunter Smoker, was just being born somewhere on an island in the Grand Line.

Pirate Affairs:

Golden Lion's ambition to rule the world grew ever more frenzied. He gathered vast numbers of pirates, forged a fleet, and carved out his own domain in the New World.

Whitebeard chased his dream of family, collecting sons and daughters wherever he went—and in the process, seized territory and became a ruler in his own right.

For reasons unknown, Charlotte Linlin and Kaido had parted ways, each building their own empires.

And in the Grand Line, the future Pirate King Roger and the Hero Garp continued their endless game of cat and mouse, chasing and fleeing, their legend still in the making.
