Chapter 461: Shiki vs. Red Earl

Level 6 – Eternal Hell, Impel Down

"Get up! Keep going! Weren't you once a great swordsman? Why are you giving up so quickly? Pick up your dual blades and get moving!"

Shiryu, drenched in sweat, gripped his longsword as he barked at the middle-aged man before him—who looked every bit like a wild lion.

"Gehahaha! A mighty lion brought low, bullied by dogs!"

Golden Lion Shiki, covered in blood, slowly stood up. Shackles on his feet clanked as he lifted his famed swords—Oto and Kogarashi. His expression remained proud and defiant.

"A loser still knows how to boast, huh?" Shiryu sneered.

"You bastard!"

Shiki growled, furious.

The Sea Prism Stone shackles on his legs drained his strength. He couldn't even bring out a tenth of his true power.

If not for those cuffs, this punk wouldn't even be worth his notice.

"Enough talking. Get up—I want to learn the secrets of the world's greatest swordsman."

Shiryu clenched his cigar in his teeth and swung his blade. A gleam of light flashed as he launched a deadly strike.

Shiki barely dodged, the blade grazing past. He counterattacked with a slash of his own, but Shiryu easily parried it.

"Faster. Hit harder!"

Shiryu growled in frustration.

"You bastard! If you've got the guts, take off these shackles and fight me fair and square! I'll beat the shit out of you!"

Shiki's eyes burned with rage.

Shiryu paused for a second, staring at the golden-maned lion before him, then scoffed.

"You're nothing but a failure."

"You—!"

Shiki screamed, swinging both swords at Shiryu.

But with a lazy flick of the wrist—

Slash!

Shiki was blasted backward, coughing blood, his eyes locked on Shiryu with fury.

"Whatever. I'm bored now. We'll continue tomorrow."

Shiryu muttered, retrieving Oto and Kogarashi from Shiki's hands and turning away.

As he strolled through the dim corridors of Level 6, surrounded by the most fearsome pirates in the world, crazed voices shouted at him from the cells.

Suddenly—

"Young man… if you're bored, this old bag of bones can entertain you."

A voice from one cell made Shiryu stop.

Inside sat a white-haired elder with twisted braids and a wicked grin.

Shiryu's eyes narrowed when he saw him.

He said nothing and kept walking.

"Hohoho…"

Laughter echoed.

Red Earl Patrick Redfield's laughter shook the entire prison.

And with it—silence fell.

Every prisoner who heard it fell deathly quiet.

"Oh no… that monster's lost it again."

Whispers spread through the prison.

Everyone grew wary.

"Gehahaha! Redfield, you couldn't hold back anymore, huh?"

Shiki suddenly stood and laughed.

The Red Earl's smile faded, and he turned to Shiki.

"Shiki… you look like a clown. Or a sick, dying lion."

Redfield said mockingly.

"Gehahaha! You're right—I am a clown. Ever since Roger got caught, I've been the joke of the sea. But don't think you can say that to my face!"

Shiki's Conqueror's Haki erupted with terrifying force.

"Oh no… not again!"

All the prisoners on Level 6 panicked as the wave of Haki hit.

"Hmph. You're past your prime."

Redfield unleashed his own Conqueror's Haki, slamming it down onto Shiki like a tidal wave.

Shiki's fierce aura was instantly overwhelmed.

"Who's the real king of this prison?"

Redfield asked, standing tall, hair flowing wildly.

Shiki stared at him with bloodshot eyes, clenching his teeth so hard they bled.

Redfield stood alone—dominant, proud.

Other than Shiki, every other prisoner was forced to their knees by the crushing pressure.

They stared up in awe at the man in the cell—the infamous "Crimson Lone King", Red Earl Patrick Redfield.

"I should've killed you ten years ago," Shiki said, trembling with hatred.

"Hmph. Like you could."

Redfield smirked.

That look of disdain cut deeper than any blade.

"You're the fool who charged Marineford alone, with a ship's rudder sticking out of your head. You had the most agile power in the world—the Float-Float Fruit—and still decided to fight the Navy head-on. And you lost. Got captured. What a disgrace. You're not worthy of being compared to Charlotte."

Redfield's taunt was sharp as a dagger.

"You damn bastard! I'll kill you!"

Shiki raged, yanking at his shackles.

"Pathetic howls from a beaten dog," Redfield muttered.

Shiki froze.

Everyone thought it was over.

But then—

"Gehahaha! If you're so strong, then why are you locked up too, huh?"

Shiki plopped onto the floor and laughed.

Redfield's face darkened.

That was the one thing he didn't want to hear.

He had nearly killed Sengoku the Buddha, the Navy's Fleet Admiral. One more blow, and the man would've died.

But just then, Garp arrived.

Redfield still remembered the chill that hit his spine.

He'd been so close… If he had succeeded, he would've been more legendary than Roger.

He would've become the first pirate in 800 years to slay a Fleet Admiral.

"Gehahaha!"

Shiki roared with laughter at Redfield's sour expression.

The Red Earl's Haki spiked again, darker and heavier.

But Shiki didn't flinch—he pushed back just as hard.

The two waves of Conqueror's Haki clashed violently across the prison.

Every prisoner caught in their range writhed in agony.

"Boss Shiki! Please stop—we can't take anymore!"

"Red Earl-sama, please! We're dying here!"

They begged.

But neither man listened.

Only after both were exhausted did their duel of wills come to an end.

Overall, Redfield had the edge—he had been suppressing Shiki the entire time.

Shiki, of course, blamed the Sea Prism shackles.

Silence fell once more in the prison.

No one dared break the stillness.

Ever since these two arrived, they had fought like this every few days.

When words failed, Haki spoke.

And the monstrous Conqueror's Haki of these two legends—both apex tyrants of the sea—was something no one else on Level 6 could withstand.

It was hell within hell.
