Chapter 193: Talented People (Part 2)

Amy Powell, a user of the Bird-Bird Fruit, Goshawk form, possessed great strength. The fact that she could fly alone made Charlotte pay special attention to her.

Her combat ability was the strongest among all the maids, even surpassing Monica.

She excelled in using the Finger Gun and Storm Kick techniques from the Navy's Six Styles, making her the only combat-capable maid with real fighting prowess.

Karina Carrie, a user of the Rat-Rat Fruit, Hamster form, had no combat abilities. She was responsible for taking care of Charlotte's daily life and serving as a cute presence. She also assisted Monica in managing the other maids.

Wendy Mom, a user of the Cat-Cat Fruit, Tabby Cat form, similarly had no combat ability. Her role was to take care of Charlotte and provide companionship, often serving as a source of comfort.

When Charlotte first learned that Monica had given these two the animal-type Devil Fruits, he was confused.

But after meeting them, he understood.

The transformation from the animal-type Devil Fruits had effectively turned them into beast-eared girls.

Charlotte had been instantly captivated.

Thinking back to those nights when he stroked their soft ears while drifting off to sleep, Charlotte couldn't help but feel excited about trying it again.

These four maids were responsible for management, but Charlotte also personally trained hundreds of others.

They were required to learn navigation, medical skills, and cooking—three essential skills for life at sea.

But Charlotte didn't stop there.

Since he had worked hard for nearly ten years, he believed he deserved to enjoy himself.

All of Charlotte's maids had been rescued from various slave ships. Some had returned to their families, but most had chosen to stay with the Rockefeller Pirates.

Many of them were extraordinarily beautiful, the kind of women who would have been considered school beauties in his previous life. Among them were princesses, noblewomen, merchants' daughters, singers, and dancers.

Charlotte made full use of their talents, allowing each to specialize in a particular skill.

Beyond the essentials like navigation, medicine, and cooking, some were trained in singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments.

At every banquet, these maids performed brilliantly, making Charlotte feel completely at ease.

So, despite having over 300 maids, none were idle—each had a purpose.

And Charlotte delighted in discovering their individual strengths.

This was why he could endure staying on the island for a year or even two without feeling the need to leave.

---

Despite indulging in luxury, Charlotte's military power remained formidable.

Apart from training Barrett and Esdeath, he spent his days relaxing at home, surrounded by his maids.

But he also maintained discipline.

His forces now consisted of nearly 500 combat-ready members and over 400 logistical staff.

These fighters were not mere foot soldiers; each had trained in swordsmanship for at least two and a half years, with many surpassing five years of training.

Even if they lacked talent, they were far stronger than the average pirate.

One of Charlotte's warriors could take on at least five standard pirates, meaning his 500-man force effectively had the combat power of 2,500.

Currently, the most powerful force on the sea was Golden Lion Shiki, commanding over 30,000 pirates.

The second most formidable force was Captain John, who had nearly 10,000 pirates under his command, funded by Rocks' hidden treasures.

Ochoku and Silver Axe, who had secretly allied with Captain John, brought their combined total to approximately 15,000.

Charlotte ranked just below them.

Oddly enough, Whitebeard Edward Newgate had the smallest forces.

His pirate crew was more of a family than an army, recruiting mostly young orphans. This resulted in a relatively weak force, held together only by Whitebeard's immense personal strength and reputation.

If not for Whitebeard's power, Captain John might have claimed control over the second half of the New World.

The smallest and most elite pirate crew, however, was the Roger Pirates.

They had no fixed territory, no flag, and simply wandered the seas.

They weren't even actively searching for Raftel yet.

Comparing his forces to others, Charlotte realized that he was still in a relatively average position.

"Looks like I'll have to wait for them to grow up," he muttered.

---

Charlotte placed his hopes in the next generation.

Barrett, Esdeath, Caesar, Tesla, Robert, Sif, Deidara, and Eve.

The oldest among them was eleven years old.

The youngest was only two.

Barrett, now eleven, had grown rapidly. He already stood at a towering height of three and a half meters.

Esdeath, now seven, had matured significantly.

Her long silver-blue hair, deep ice-blue eyes, and porcelain-doll-like complexion made her strikingly beautiful.

She often wore a pure white officer's uniform, clearly inspired by Barrett's military-style attire.

Since awakening her Conqueror's Haki, Esdeath had become much more composed.

With Charlotte's guidance, she rarely acted recklessly anymore.

She trained rigorously in swordsmanship, wielding her Holy Realm Sanction saber while refining her Cold-Cold Fruit abilities.

Her strength had skyrocketed.

She had also inherited Charlotte's talent for Observation Haki, awakening it at an early age.

Her senses were incredibly sharp, easily detecting the slightest anomalies in her opponents.

This puzzled Charlotte—was this a new type of Observation Haki?

It wasn't mind-reading.

It wasn't future sight.

It wasn't foresight of danger.

It wasn't the ability to hear all things.

Had Esdeath awakened a new, unique form of Observation Haki?

Charlotte wasn't sure.

Though he was delighted by her progress, her Conqueror's Haki remained dormant after the initial awakening.

Even when Charlotte exerted his own Conqueror's Haki to stimulate her, she showed no reaction.

Eventually, he stopped trying and simply focused on training her swordsmanship.

With the world's greatest swordsman as her teacher, Esdeath's progress was astonishing.

Her Cold-Cold Fruit abilities combined with her swordsmanship made even veteran swordsmen wary of her.

By the time she was eight, she had already begun displaying an unstoppable presence on the battlefield.
