Chapter 20: 20- Dinosaurs for Dinner
Well… how should I put it? Giants are oversized humans—yup, that's all there is to it. They don't have any other special abilities aside from their sheer size. They can bulldoze through obstacles, and their massive bodies grant them immense vitality and long lifespans. A giant can live up to 500 years.
At first, I thought there might be a special reason for their strength, but no—it's just pure muscle mass. Their talent for Haki is quite subpar, which leads to Elbaph's current situation: a nation filled with warriors at Vice Admiral level, but with almost no one reaching the heights of an Admiral—except Loki.
That's something I'll have to change. Since the souls of giants are fundamentally the same as humans, I can use Soul Operation to bind Dorry and Broggy to my will. They have strong connections in Elbaph, which is another bonus. For now, I'll grant them Roger's genes.
For giants, getting my genes will be an unmatched blessing. Imagine a race of behemoths wielding advanced Haki—an army of island-destroying monsters. Even I would be wary of a giant with Shanks-level Observation Haki. And if one of them awakens Conqueror's Infusion? That's a terrifying thought.
Alright—ROOM! Soul Operation!
I started with Dorry. I erased his memories of our fight and wove my commands deep into his soul. Subtle suggestions, direct orders—it all blended seamlessly.
He would believe that his very purpose in life was to serve me. His loyalty would be absolute, to the point where he would willingly throw himself in front of an attack meant for me. Then, I did the same to Broggy.
I made them believe I was Elbaph's god. And to reinforce that, I granted them power. I altered their genetics, enhancing their physical abilities and unlocking their dormant potential.
Finally, I implanted Roger's genes—his Life Return, his Haki talent—everything necessary to mold them into warriors far beyond the limits of their kind.
Roger's genes were unusually suitable for Giants, the Life return's effect on them would be even more noticable, and Haki is just what a Giant lacks, it basically supplements a Giant with everything they lack, practically the Hashirama cells for Giants.
Well, the enhancements are completed, now, all that's left is time. Let them fight each other, honing their skills over the next five or six years. By then, I'll have two Admiral-level subordinates at my command.
For now, I'll take care of settling Anna and Robin here. After some rest and a proper meal, we'll set sail for Alabasta.
"Master, are you alright? Are the giants taken care of?" Anna asked with a smile.
"Well, yes. They were weak, after all. Anyway, let's go collect some dinosaurs—I knocked them all out with my Haki earlier. After that, I'll go check on the giants again" I replied, motioning for her to follow me.
"So, you're taking them as subordinates?" she asked curiously.
"Yes. I've already performed Soul Operation on them and enhanced their genetics. But as they are now, they're still too weak. Hardly of any use to me, they need time. It's better to let them stay here and fight continuously—once they reach a useful level, I'll decide on my next move regarding Elbaph," I said, deep in thought.
"Do you need my help too? Elbaph is said to be so strong that even the World Government and the Four Emperors are constantly trying to bring them to their side," she said, considering the situation.
"Haha, don't worry. The future me will figure out the details. I don't plan on fighting them directly anyway." I chuckled.
Anna looked around at the aftermath of my Conqueror's Haki. "Wow… you really knocked everything out. Conqueror's Haki is really convenient."
With that, we dragged back an entire Titanosaur—because if you're going to eat dinosaurs, you might as well eat the biggest one. Since coming to this world, my diet has expanded significantly. At this point, I'll eat anything that looks remotely edible when cooked.
As for this Dino, even with our large appetite, I don't think we could finish it, so to avoid waste, whatever remains will be fed to the giants.
Setting up camp near the shore, I ordered the chef to prepare the dinosaur. His face went pale at the sheer size of it, so I assigned a dozen more people to help. Even Anna had to step in, since they wouldn't be able to handle the weight on their own. So it's up to Anna to cut it into smaller pieces and carry it, after all, physically she's only a little weaker than me, and her potential is even higher than me, so yes this is all for her training.
With everything set in motion, I returned to check on the unconscious giants. Once again, I started examining their genes, just looking at it, seeing if I could find some secrets within it.
There's an idea I've been working on. Our genes never truly reach their full potential—there are built-in limitations that restrict growth. If I can remove those limitations, I can push genetics to their absolute peak.
Utilizing potential is another issue, but my automated training method already ensures nearly 99% efficiency. The so-called breaking the limit is nothing more than surpassing genetic constraints. If I can solve that, there will be no limits left to break.
Now imagine applying this in a world like Dragon Ball—taking Broly's genes, enhancing them, and removing all constraints, leading to infinite growth. Or in Naruto, surpassing the Ōtsutsuki by optimizing their genetics beyond anything they ever achieved.
In comparison, the One Piece world limits the potential of this technique. Maybe I should figure out a way to leave this world altogether. While it's interesting, staying here for eternity isn't ideal. Well, that's a question for my future self. My present self just needs to grow stronger.
As a parting gift, I completely healed the giants—resetting their bodies to a flawless state. The value of this cannot be overstated. Every injury, every tiny imperfection accumulated since birth was erased. Their cells practically screamed with relief.
It didn't take long for them to wake up. As soon as they saw me, they dropped to their knees and bowed.
"LORD GOD!"
Yeah. I was already leaning into my god role. And to be honest? It felt really good.
…Maybe my superiority complex and god complex are worse than I thought.
So, to fix it, I decided to make both true. If it's real, then it's not a complex, right? If I am a god, then it's not a delusion. If I am the most superior being, then it's just stating facts.
"I have blessed you both," I announced. "You will reach heights you could never have dreamed of. I have granted you Life Return, so you can heal by simply eating. Your Haki potential has been increased. Fight with all your might. Become strong. Strong enough to serve me."
The command settled deep within them. My work here was done—they knew what to do next.
Maybe they would become the strongest giants and take over Elbaph themselves. If that happened, I wouldn't have to bother controlling the royal family. But even in the worst-case scenario, I'd still have two Admiral-class warriors under my command.
Enough planning for today. Too much work in a single day is bad for the health.
With that, I returned to camp, relaxing as Robin kept me company and my maid and chef's prepared dinner.
Ah, the perfect life.
