One Piece: Absolute Domination; Reborn as Luffy

Chapter 64: 64: The Chicken Dinner

No matter how much Luffy tried to comfort them, it was impossible to avoid some sense of disappointment.

Aimee's expression dimmed as she said, "What's this? I only have 101 times! Other people have several hundred…and some even have thousands! It's just…" She sighed, looking at Luffy. "Luffy-sama! Why are you treating me this way?"

Her voice carried a hint of complaint, but Luffy just laughed.

"I admit," he said, "I haven't loved each of you with perfect fairness. After all…in this world, true equality is impossible. But that's the reality—and something everyone must accept."

After hearing this, Aimee seemed to come to terms with her feelings. She stopped sighing and began quietly admiring her gift.

"Huh?" someone gasped, their face paling with shock. "The Empress's number… it's over five thousand!"

She could see clearly from her spot nearby. The others were equally stunned.

"What?" The group turned, equally astonished. "Over five thousand?!"

"Unbelievable!" someone exclaimed, looking at Luffy. "Luffy-sama, you really do love the Empress!"

They were all envious, but what could they do? After all, she was the Empress—Hancock, the Pirate Empress. Who could possibly compete with that?

Luffy only laughed. "That's right. Hancock is the one I love most. There's no question about it. Nothing will change that. No amount of jealousy from anyone can alter this."

These words were simple, clear, and direct.

The Empress, Hancock, blushed deeply, touched by his declaration.

Then, something else caught her attention. "Hm?" She noticed her stick looked different. "Why is mine…why is my stick pink?" she asked. "Everyone else's is white."

The pink shade was soft and lovely, and she held it with great care.

Luffy didn't need to respond; the others jumped in.

"No need to ask, Empress!" one of them called out. "This just proves how much you mean to Luffy-sama, how irreplaceable you are!"

"It's such a beautiful pink!"

"I wish I had one like that," someone sighed. "But it's the Empress's exclusive color. I'm so envious!"

Everyone shared their admiration, and Luffy nodded in agreement. That pink color was indeed a mark of his love. There was no more to say—Hancock was his one and only.

He thought briefly about the other great beauties in the world—Sanji's sister, Nico Robin, Nami. They were all lovely in their own way, of course, but somehow, compared to Hancock, something always felt…lacking. None of them held the same presence or charm as Hancock.

No matter what, Luffy loved Hancock. It was an undeniable, colossal truth.

"Ah!" A sudden scream broke through the moment.

It was Aimee, looking horrified as she stared down at her stick with wide eyes.

"Luffy-sama! This is creepy!" she cried, voice shaking. "The number on my staff…it's changed! It was 101 before, and now it's 102! This is terrifying!"

Her fear was obvious on her face, her expression utterly shaken.

Several people nearby came over to look, curiosity mingled with a hint of fear. They inspected her staff closely.

"Yeah, you're right!" one of them confirmed. "Aimee, your number has definitely changed. I remember clearly, it was 101 before!"

"And now it's 102!" another added, shuddering. "That's so creepy…it's like it's haunted!"

"I'm scared!" Amiee cried, quickly stepping back.

Luffy only laughed, saying, "There's no need to worry! This is completely normal."

Hearing this, everyone else relaxed a little, and the cold sweat on Ame's forehead finally eased.

"In fact," Luffy explained, "these numbers will keep changing. They're not fixed at all."

He looked at Ame. "Aimee, did you perhaps do something with it just now?"

Ame blinked, taken aback by the simple question. She looked flustered, not quite sure how to answer.

Luffy chuckled. "This number isn't static—it changes with every new expression of love between us." He sipped his tea and continued, "In the past… the number showed our past moments together, and in the future… it'll keep increasing. It will always keep evolving."

At that moment, someone raised a question. "Luffy-sama! But… once you're gone, how will we even find you? And besides… Aimee's number changed just now while she was here."

This question echoed the confusion of the others as well.

Luffy waved his hand. "Didn't I already explain? These gifts carry my essence, my spirit—even my presence. That's why I asked Aimee if she had done anything with hers."

He looked at her pointedly. "So, Aimee, be honest. What exactly did you do?"

Aimee froze, momentarily at a loss for words, as everyone turned to her, waiting expectantly.

Finally, she murmured, "Well, I… I may have… handled it a little… I was just adjusting it for a moment, and somehow, the number changed."

Luffy laughed heartily. "See? I told you all! Aimee must have done something with it. This gift is a channel—it connects to me. It's as if I shared a moment of love with her directly. This is a merging of affection, a love across the distance, a connection of spirits."

Everyone stared in awe.

"What? Is that really possible?"

"It's as if Luffy-sama is actually here!"

Eager to test it out for themselves, they all went silent, focusing on their own gifts.

After a few minutes, cries of excitement broke out.

"It changed! It really works—it's miraculous!"

"Luffy-sama is amazing!" one of them shouted. "I'll make my number go up to thousands! This is Luffy-sama's love!"

Another declared, "Yes! This feels like Luffy-sama is right here. Now, no matter how long he's gone, I won't feel lonely. I'll raise my number to tens of thousands!"

Someone else joined in, "I love Luffy-sama! And he loves me! From now on, I don't have to wait in loneliness. I'll just hold this close and see my love grow to a hundred thousand!"

"This is like training," another chimed in. "It's a true show of loyalty to Luffy-sama, more powerful than any dance or ritual!"

Enthusiasm swelled as each of them vowed to honor their connection with Luffy, treasuring the evolving numbers as symbols of their devotion.

Even Boa Hancock's number changed. She looked at her gift and said softly, "It's increased again." Her voice carried a warmth of love that everyone could hear.

Luffy nodded, reassured. "Hancock, you're already over five thousand—aren't you satisfied?" he teased. "You know I hold you as my number one."

Hancock's eyes sparkled, almost tearing up, her love and reluctance to part with him clear. "Luffy-sama," she replied, "even if it were a hundred thousand… even a million… it would still never be enough. My love for you will never end, even if it takes forever, even if the world is destroyed!"

Her words, simple and sincere, captivated everyone, and Luffy felt a deep warmth in his heart.

At this point, everyone grew quiet, each person focused on their gift, watching as their numbers ticked up. Luffy chuckled to himself, almost regretting giving them such powerful gifts.

He sighed and shook his head, "Well, looks like you're all hooked. But hey, seeing you happy like this is what I wanted. So, everyone! Enjoy yourselves! Once I take care of everything, we'll come back and have the best celebration!"

The crowd burst out in unison. "Long live Luffy-sama!" "Luffy-sama, you're amazing!" "We'll give it our all!" "We'll train hard!" "We'll get our numbers to a hundred thousand!" "We'll make sure that when you return, Luffy-sama, you'll be proud!"

Their genuine words moved Luffy, and he smiled warmly. "Excellent! You're all wonderful, my beauties," he said, adding with a wink, "To celebrate, how about I treat everyone to chicken dinner!"

Everyone froze for a second before they exploded with excitement.

"BOOM!"

The entire banquet hall erupted in chaos. Tables and chairs were overturned as they all rushed forward. Luffy blinked in astonishment, bewildered by their enthusiasm.

"What… what's going on here?" he wondered aloud.

Aimee stepped forward, shouting eagerly, "Luffy-sama! A chicken dinner! This is the best reward we could ever hope for!" She grinned, her eyes shining. "It's our second dream come true, right after following you. Your gift is perfect!"

The swordswoman joined in, "Yes, Luffy-sama! Chicken dinners are our true love! Because… you always say no to it otherwise. But this time, we won't let you get away!"

The archer chimed in, chanting, "Chicken! Chicken! Chicken!"

Luffy laughed helplessly. "Alright! You're right!" he said. "Since it's time for me to leave, let's play a game—a game called Ultimate Chicken Dinner! This game will be a powerful way for all of you to train. I hope you'll treasure it. Take your time to understand it, feel it, and savor it. This is more than just a meal. Do you understand?"

"This is a precious opportunity," he continued earnestly. "Use it wisely."

The sincerity in Luffy's tone made everyone listen closely. They knew he wasn't joking. The training benefits from this game could be immense, possibly even equal to hundreds of hours of other training.

"Luffy-sama!" one of them shouted. "We'll remember every word! Please, start the game! We're ready!"

And with that, Luffy began the Ultimate Chicken Dinner ritual, inviting everyone to take part. "One at a time," he reminded. "No need to rush. The chicken won't run away. There's enough for everyone."

Reassuring them, Luffy watched as they each prepared, feeling a sense of pride at their unwavering dedication.
