Chapter 6: Live Stream
Raiken couldn't believe what he had just heard. Just earlier, he had tried everything he could think of to activate the system, but nothing had happened.
He thought he was one of those unlucky transmigrators who got pulled into a new world without a system. But now, after barely escaping from Uzushiogakure, the system had finally responded.
Raiken looked around and quickly spotted Arata nearby.
"Arata," he called out.
"Yes, Uzukage?" Arata responded, standing at attention.
"Please form a group to cook food—enough for everyone here. Also, count how many people survived. I want to take a look around first," Raiken ordered.
Arata nodded and walked away to carry out the task.
Once he was gone, Raiken dashed off, finding a quiet corner to focus on the system that had finally answered him.
"System, how do I activate you?" he asked.
[Hi, Host. I am the Live Streaming System.]
"Live streaming? What do you mean? And why didn't you activate earlier? We could've saved more members of the Uzumaki Clan!" Raiken shouted in frustration.
[Host, I didn't have enough points to activate. I need stars from the audience. Once the stars reached the minimum threshold, I could come online.]
"Wait—what do you mean by audience?" Raiken asked, puzzled.
[Yes, this system functions just like a social media live stream. The audience can send gifts—stars, stickers, money—and you, the host, can redeem them for abilities, jutsu, or items from this world or even other worlds.]
'Is there any novel or show that uses this kind of system?' Raiken thought. He had never come across anything like this before. Then he asked again, "So, you're saying the audience saw my escape from Uzushiogakure and decided to reward me?"
[Correct, Host. Some of the viewers have read the entire Naruto series. They're familiar with this world. They wanted to see how you'd shake up the plotline. One of them even donated 10,000 stars. I only needed 5,000 to activate.]
"10,000 stars... How much is that in dollars?" Raiken asked, narrowing his eyes.
[500 dollars, Host. One dollar equals 20 stars.]
"Okay, I understand. So, can I control when I go live? I don't want the audience seeing me naked in the toilet."
[Yes, you can control the stream. But it's advisable to livestream 24/7—some people enjoy watching mukbangs, sleep streams, camping, or even battle channels. A constant stream helps attract subscribers and donations.]
"I get that, but I still want to have private moments. Are they still watching me right now?" Raiken asked, frowning. "Also, are all the viewers Naruto fans?"
[No, Host. While some viewers have read Naruto, others haven't. And don't worry—whenever you're talking to me, the system automatically pauses or ends the live stream.]
"Good. Then can I take a look at the system shopping mall?" Raiken asked.
[To access the shopping mall, Host must sign this agreement.]
A shimmering blue document materialized in front of him.
[The Clause of Streamer]
[Viewer donations will be split 50/50]
[It is compulsory to stream a minimum of 1 hour every day]
[The host has full rights over their stream. He can stop or pause it anytime.]
Raiken stared at the document with disbelief.
"Wait—50%? I'm the one doing all the work. Cancel this," he said flatly.
[Are you sure you want to cancel, Host?]
Raiken paused at the system's question.
"Tell me—why 50/50?" he asked sharply.
[The system also needs revenue to maintain operations, pay for servers, and increase bandwidth. Frankly, 50% is generous. We could take 70% instead.]
Raiken clenched his fists, feeling a wave of irritation.
"And what happens if I reject you?" he asked.
[The Live Streaming System will simply find another host. And you… well, you can say goodbye to me and I will say good luck to survive in this world.]
"You dragged me here in the first place!" Raiken accused.
[No, Host. I did not summon you. I'm just the system designed to assist you.]
"Then who did drag me here?" Raiken asked.
[That, we do not know.]
Raiken fell silent, his thoughts racing. After a few moments of hesitation, he sighed and looked at the document again. As much as he disliked the terms, having a system—any system—was still better than being on his own.
"...Fine. I'll sign it."
---Konoha---
The shinobi returning from Uzushiogakure looked somber. At that moment, the Hokage's office was filled with shinobi to deliver their report.
Among them stood Uzumaki Mito, who had come to hear the news herself. She could no longer travel to distant places due to her age, and even if she could, it would not be wise.
If she lost control, the Nine Tails could break free and Konoha would risk losing its most powerful tailed beast.
"I am sorry, Hokage-sama," apologized the Jonin commander, bowing his head. "We arrived too late. All the people of Uzushiogakure had been slaughtered."
The Hokage expression darkened and he turned to glance at Uzumaki Mito. He could see the sadness clearly reflected in her eyes.
"I'm sorry, Mito-sama. Their attack was too sudden," said Hiruzen quietly.
Mito's unique ability to sense emotions and danger came from Kurama. The Nine Tails could detect distinct chakra signatures from people, it emit special chakra when someone is lying and this gift had been passed down to his Jinchuuriki—Uzumaki Mito.
Because of this, she could sense that Hiruzen apology was genuine. That is also the reason why Danzo didn't come here in this office, he didn't want Uzumaki Mito to notice anything suspicious because he is the one who actively hide the fact that other village trying to attack Uzushiogakure.
Mito slowly closed her eyes, as though grieving silently. Then she opened them and spoke calmly to Hiruzen.
"We will postpone the transfer of the Nine Tails to Kushina. She is the last surviving Uzumaki," said Mito.
Hiruzen nodded respectfully. "Understood, Mito-sama."
Mito stood, her movements slow and deliberate. She felt weak, her body was aging but she was still a shinobi at heart. No matter the pain or the burden, she would carry it with dignity.
As she left the room, the silence in the Hokage office deepened. No one dared to speak.
Hiruzen watched the departing figure of Mito-sama. The loss of the Uzumaki Clan, their powerful allies, was not only a personal tragedy, it was a devastating blow to the future of Konoha.
For decades, the Uzumaki had been their ally, their support in sealing techniques and battle strategy. Now, that legacy had been wiped out almost overnight.
Kushina was the only hope left—young, spirited, and unaware of the heavy burden she would soon have to bear.
