Naruto: The Senju Patriarch

Chapter 97: Yuki

The Third Mizukage growled as he was forced to block yet another attack from the Third Raikage. This man was undoubtedly one of the strongest opponents - no, the strongest opponent - he'd ever faced. He was undoubtedly the fastest opponent too, and trying to defend against him was almost impossible, even with his Ice Style Kekkai Genkai - he'll just break through any defences I can put up!

Luckily, however, the Mizukage had heard all about the Third Raikage, A, before the war in a debrief, and he knew that the man hailed as the strongest Raikage ever would be no easy opponent. The Mizukage was not at all prepared to lose, however.

No, I will win this war, no matter what.

That's why he came prepared - the Mizukage smiled grimly as 2 of the 7 Ninja Swordsmen jumped the Raikage, who just about managed to evade. So far, they'd been battling for almost 10 minutes, and still they seemed to be in a perfect deadlock. Although the trio were indeed sustaining injuries, the Raikage was too, and so far only a little ground had been lost. It wasn't just that though.

But, there was a third Ninja Swordsman in the battlefield. The man had specific instructions not to engage the Raikage unless the deadlock was broken in Kumo's favour. Otherwise, he was free on the battlefield, very much enjoying himself as he slowly but surely decreased the numbers gap between the opposing forces.

The Mizukage was forced to evade another attack from the Raikage, still suffering a wound in the process, but nevertheless, he smiled.

If it goes on like this, in a few days, the gap will be bridged, and we'll finally be able to turn the tide and crush Kumo!

Suddenly, he heard a voice ring out behind him, loud but not loud enough for the Raikage to hear over his clash with the swordsmen.

"Lord Third! Konoha's broken through the front! The 2 Ninja Swordsmen have died and our force has been wiped out! Senju Katsuro's leading the charge onto the village right now!"

The Third Mizukage was stunned for a second, but quickly regained his composure. Gritting his teeth, he thought to himself quickly.

Sh*t - I have no choice now. If I don't go there to stop him now, even if the Six Tails is there, the village will fall. After all, this is Senju Katsuro we're talking about - the man they call the Bane of the Bijuus. I have to leave this front in the hands of the last 3 Swordsmen, I need to deal with the immediate threat even if it will have dire consequences.

"Tell Fuguki to cover for me, alert the home reserve forces and Jinchuriki, and prepare a team specialised in delay and defence - we will intercept Konoha and send them running back home!"

Katsuro cut down 2 Kiri Shinobi, impaling each of them with a sword that he took - no, I inherited it.This sword was almost made for me, I am the strongest Lightning Kenjutsu user in this world besides perhaps sensei. Even if the two handed mode is a bit awkward, this double bladed single mode is much more my style. But being able to separate them adds an unpredictableness to my attacks. Not to mention the sizable boost to my lighting style techniques with this conductivity surpassing my chakra metal blade - so much sharpness and piercing power with such little chakra. But the most significant boost is that I can now use Lightning style Jutsu without hand seals. The Konoha forces, despite their tiredness and injuries, were enthusiastic, and they were quickly advancing on Kiri despite their Shinobi's resistance. Although Katsuro hoped he wouldn't have to raze the village to the ground, he was no Third Hokage, and would absolutely do what was necessary to secure peace for Konoha for generations longer.

Suddenly, however, he heard a loud roar, and felt an immense pool of chakra ahead of him. Katsuro grimaced. The Six Tails, huh? I guess Kiri have unleashed their final card.

"Hurry!" Katsuro shouted at the rest of the Konoha forces, and they increased their pace towards the threat, preparing themselves.

"I will handle the Six Tails, and the Uzumakis will seal him immediately after. Everyone else, engage and overrun the Kiri defence forces and reserves, but remember - anyone that harms any civilians, I will do to them what they did to their victim - tenfold. Disperse!"

The Shinobi did as told, and Katsuro and the Uzumaki's moved forward together, and soon, the Tailed Beast was in sight.

"Yuck! It's disgusting!" Minari declared, and despite the severity of the situation, Katsuro couldn't help but chuckle, agreeing. The Six Tails was a white monster, almost like a snail, and it was so … slimy. Imagine being the person inside that thing, Katsuro thought dryly. Not only are you a Jinchuriki, but you're the Jinchuriki of that? Could never be me, he thought, shuddering.

Katsuro simultaneously activated Susanoo no Mikoto and also threw multiple Flying Raijin Kunai at the Six Tails, seeking to end the battle quickly. As he flew towards the Bijuu, the white monster opened it's mouth, and much to Katsuro's surprise, spat something at him. Katsuro quickly used Flying Raijin to evade by teleporting to another area, and he turned around to see what the weird liquid had done. Again, Katsuro was surprised. The liquid was basically an acid - it corroded the ground and walls it had landed on with ease, including metal and concrete.

That's not good, Katsuro thought. I'm gonna have to avoid those. The Six Tails didn't give him a moment to rest though, as it immediately followed up by shooting what seemed like bubbles at him. Katsuro easily dodged with the speed from Susanoo no Mikoto, however, and again observed the bubbles - they appeared to be filled with water, and only burst after the attack had clearly missed.

Okay. Acid spit. Water Release. The bubbles were probably meant to trap and drown me, and I can't rule out the possibility of the Bijuu being able to fill the bubbles with that acid too.

Finally, Katsuro attacked, equipped with his new observations, and, as almost always, he was successful. Although the Bijuu kept attacking, Katsuro now knew when to expect the attacks and how to evade them with the most efficiency, and used Fire Style Jutsus to attack the Six Tails. The Patriarch didn't have to bother wasting chakra on neutralising the Bijuu's attacks when he could simply predict and avoid them using both Flying Raijin and the speed of Susanoo no Mikoto, and using 'Fire Style: Nine Dragons Hell Flame Jutsu' to attack whenever he got the opportunity (which was very often), rapidly weakened the Bijuu which suffered against the high temperature flame attacks as a creature than was proficient and relied upon water.

Finally, Katsuro sensed it seemed to pool its chakra for one last attack, and having had plenty of experience with this before, Katsuro knew what was coming. With all the strength and power from Susanoo no Mikoto, Katsuro threw a pair of Kunai as far away as his eye could see.

"Move!" Katsuro commanded the bystanding Uzumaki's, who instantly understood what their leader was planning and began running towards the Kunai.

As the Tailed Beast formed the Bijuu Bomb to about 75% completion, Katsuro made his move. He teleported to right in front of the Bijuu Bomb, and very quickly placed a seal on it, confusing the Six Tails, but Katsuro was far from finished. Katsuro then teleported to a seal he had placed on the Six Tails itself, and then in a flash, he teleported himself and the Beast to one of the Kunai he had just thrown.

"Huh?" the Six Tails thought, utterly confused, looking around at his new location, and for Katsuro, who was nowhere to be seen. This was because Katsuro had again teleported to the Bijuu Bomb, but this time, he was touching it, and he teleported himself and the bomb to the second Kunai.

At the same time as the Six Tails was stunned when he sensed his own Bijuu Bomb, although only 75% complete behind him, Katsuro teleported to a seal that he had placed on Nuibari earlier, after he had claimed it, moving himself right next to the Uzumaki's.

As the Bijuu Bomb exploded and the shockwave was felt, Katsuro did one last 'Fire Style: Nine Dragons Hell Flame Bullet' from afar, sealing the deal. When the dust cleared, the Six Tails was slumped over and slowly retreated back into its Jinchuriki. Katsuro nodded to the Uzumaki, who were no longer even surprised by Katsuro's strength, and just proceeded to start to seal the Jinchuriki himself.

Suddenly, however, a massive hailstorm of huge ice needles rained down from above them - Katsuro only just about managed to melt it all into water using the Fireball Jutsu, and that was with far more chakra than typically necessary.

Ice Style, huh?

The Third Mizukage had arrived.
