Chapter 185: Chapter 185: Second Hokage Tobirama's Complaints
"Dad?"
Who just called 'Dad'? Who's calling me Dad?
All four Hokage turned around simultaneously, looking around for the source of the voice. Minato Namikaze spotted Naruto at once and shouted excitedly, "Naruto!"
Rushing over in just a few steps, Minato frowned upon seeing his son. "Naruto, your left eye...?"
Naruto responded casually, "It's fine. It's the Rinnegan."
Minato's expression froze. "Rinnegan?! The Eye of the Sage of Six Paths!"
Shisui smiled brightly. As he suspected, Naruto was indeed the son of the Fourth Hokage—also the boy who had the Nine-Tails sealed within him.
Tobirama Senju was also sizing Naruto up, visibly surprised. He hadn't expected the Fourth Hokage's son to be here, much less to possess the Rinnegan.
Hashirama Senju sighed emotionally. "The legendary eye of the Sage... I never thought I'd see it with my own eyes. Madara spent his whole life trying to unlock its secrets."
Tobirama snorted. "Damn Uchiha."
The Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, stepped forward and looked Naruto over, puzzled. "What's going on, Naruto? Why are you here, and how did you get those eyes?"
Naruto smiled warmly. "Hey, Old Man Third. I asked Orochimaru to resurrect all of you."
Hiruzen was stunned. "What?! You asked Orochimaru to revive us?!"
He turned to look at Orochimaru in disbelief. In his understanding, it was unthinkable that Naruto and Orochimaru could ever cooperate. Just like how he never imagined Danzo could ever align with Naruto's ideals during their lifetimes.
But clearly, things had changed.
During Naruto's earlier confrontation with Kurama, Minato had spoken with his family inside Naruto's mindscape. So, while shocked, he could accept it—his son had already revealed that he was from the future.
And the evidence spoke for itself. Last time they met, Naruto didn't have the Rinnegan. Now, he did—and Orochimaru was working for him. No wonder Hiruzen was struggling to process everything.
Orochimaru looked at his old master and said smoothly, "Sensei, don't look so shocked. I used to stir up chaos, it's true. But now... I'd rather follow the wind and admire the scenery. Naruto is my wind now."
Orochimaru shook his head slightly. It wasn't that he had changed—it was the world that had.
"Third Hokage-sama."
"Third Hokage-sama."
Another pair of voices called out. Hiruzen turned toward them, and when he saw who it was, his face went blank in shock.
"You... you're... Shisui? And Itachi?!"
Shisui and Itachi stepped forward and nodded with warm smiles.
Hiruzen stared at Shisui, his eyes wide with disbelief. He reached out, placing a hand on Shisui's shoulder. "Shisui... you died, didn't you? How... Don't tell me Orochimaru used the Impure World Reincarnation to bring you back?"
Tobirama stepped forward, his expression serious as he examined Shisui. "No, Monkey. He wasn't reanimated using the Edo Tensei. This one's alive. Are you sure he died?"
Hiruzen froze, grasping Shisui's shoulder tighter. Flesh and blood. Warm. Alive.
He turned to both of them, completely bewildered. "What... what is going on?"
Itachi calmly explained, "Naruto used the Rinne Rebirth Technique to bring both Shisui and me back to life."
Hiruzen's mouth dropped open. He wanted to speak but couldn't form the words.
Reviving the dead—such a defiance of nature and death itself.
Tobirama murmured, "The legendary Rinnegan... the eye that governs life and death. So it's true."
Hashirama nodded. "I never imagined that the dead could truly return to life."
Minato remained silent, quietly absorbing it all.
Tobirama turned to Hiruzen. "Monkey, who are these two?"
Hiruzen gave a small smile. "They were two of my finest subordinates during my time as Hokage. Both contributed immensely to the village. Especially Itachi."
With that, he patted Itachi on the shoulder with guilt in his eyes. "Itachi... I wronged you."
Itachi gave him a faint but forgiving smile.
Shisui sighed. He regretted going to Danzo that day. If only he'd gone straight to the Third Hokage for protection... maybe he and Itachi could've prevented the clan's tragedy.
Naruto interjected with a grin. "Alright, alright, what's in the past is in the past. We should be looking forward now."
He approached Hashirama and Tobirama, bowing politely. "Shodai-sama, Nidaime-sama. Hello again! I'm Naruto Uzumaki, the future Seventh Hokage!"
Hashirama blinked in confusion. "Again? What do you mean again? Have the Fifth and Sixth already come and gone? Are you sure you're the Seventh?"
Tobirama eyed Naruto and muttered, annoyed, "Big Brother, this kid is a bit like you. Clueless and overly friendly."
Naruto laughed. "Uncle Tobirama, you haven't changed a bit. Still as prickly as ever."
Tobirama stared at Naruto like he was a lunatic. Do I know this kid? Have we even met? Is he mentally alright?
After mentally asking himself three questions in a row, he turned to Minato and grumbled, "Fourth, take care of your son."
Minato scratched his head, embarrassed. "Sorry..."
Tobirama addressed Naruto sternly. "Since you're the son of the Fourth Hokage, that makes you a Konoha ninja. Why did you instruct Orochimaru to desecrate my jutsu and summon us with Edo Tensei?"
Naruto snapped his fingers and said brightly, "Great question, Uncle Tobirama. I was just getting to that."
Facing the four Hokage, Naruto laid everything out: Uchiha Obito's origins, the impending Fourth Great Ninja War, the formation of the Allied Shinobi Forces, and Kabuto's use of Edo Tensei to summon an undead army.
He explained that he needed their help to win the war and protect the future.
After listening in silence, Tobirama exploded. "Madara Uchiha! That cursed man was evil even in life, and now he's stirring trouble after death! It's my fault. I should've destroyed his body when I had the chance!"
He seethed. "And that bastard Obito—Madara's successor without a doubt! He wants to trap the entire world in a genjutsu? He's insane! That whole clan is a blight!"
Shisui and Itachi stepped forward, frowns on their faces.
Seeing this, Hiruzen leaned in and whispered, "Nidaime, please... don't go too far."
Hashirama raised his voice, clearly displeased. "Tobirama! How many times must I tell you? Don't slander the Uchiha! They are our comrades!"
Tobirama huffed. "Brother, you always gave Madara too much leniency. Look at what it cost! He's been dead for years, and he's still creating chaos. Back then, he harmed the village. Now he's threatening the entire shinobi world!"
Orochimaru, listening on the side, remarked calmly, "Nidaime-sama, I finally understand the reasoning behind some of your policies. But your prejudice against the Uchiha clan runs too deep."
Tobirama snapped, "What do you know, brat?!"
Shisui finally spoke up, his voice firm. "Nidaime-sama, I respect you, but I didn't expect you to hold such deep bias toward the Uchiha. I'm truly disappointed."
Tobirama turned, preparing to retort—but then paused. He studied Shisui's features and narrowed his eyes.
"You... you look like—"
Hiruzen filled in, "He's the grandson of Uchiha Kagami."
Tobirama's demeanor softened immediately. "Kagami's grandson? That explains the resemblance."
Then, more calmly, he sighed. "I'm not prejudiced. It's just... the Uchiha clan is ruled by strong emotions. They're a clan of love—and when they lose something dear, their entire personality changes. That's how the Sharingan is awakened—through emotional trauma. Mangekyō is even worse."
He added quietly, "When Madara lost his younger brother, he was never the same man again."
Hearing this, Shisui activated his Mangekyō Sharingan. "Nidaime-sama, this is what you're talking about, isn't it?"
Beside him, Itachi also activated his Sharingan—though not his Mangekyō.
Their eyes glowed red, full of pain, strength, and conviction.
