Naruto: Our Goal Is To Dig Every Corner of Konoha

Chapter 837: Chapter 837 Watchdog and Dancer

Riveria cleared the area, collecting a significant amount of souls that could be used for enhancement. Although each soul was small in quantity, she didn't have enough space to carry all of them back, so she used some and saved the rest for later.

As they continued to clear out the minor enemies, the monsters in this area were no match for them at all. It felt like high-level players bravely venturing into a beginner's village.

Soon enough, they encountered several Lothric Knights. These knights had combat strength around Level 2, with some elite ones reaching Level 3.

"This is where Watchdog resides. Besides Watchdog, there's also Dancer. Both are incredibly strong and difficult to deal with!"

Hawkwood explained, leading them to Watchdog's location. The area appeared deserted, without any monsters in sight. However, after they entered, a black void appeared, followed by the emergence of a strange armored creature.

It resembled a large dog crouching on the ground, but also looked somewhat like a person in armor. In short, its appearance was quite bizarre.

"This is Watchdog. Can you handle it? I can't beat it on my own!"

Hawkwood shook his head. The world had become reality; there were no more health bars, and Watchdog couldn't be fought with typical game tactics.

In the game, Watchdog could be easily beaten by repeatedly striking its belly, but that strategy was no longer viable. Asahi assessed Watchdog's strength, and found that purely in terms of combat ability, it was roughly at Level 6, meaning that Riveria and the others could just barely manage to fight it.

In Orario, there's a rule that to defeat a boss-level entity of the same rank, at least three adventurers of the same level are required. Of course, this is just a saying.

Truly formidable adventurers, like Ais, have even soloed the LV6 boss on the 37th floor, successfully taking it down.

While Watchdog was formidable, it wasn't so powerful that the team couldn't handle it, as taking it down would be relatively straightforward.

However, Dancer at the back was a different story. According to game lore, after defeating the Abyss Boss Aldrich, players would be teleported directly here, and approaching the statue would trigger the boss battle with Dancer.

Strictly speaking, Dancer is a late-game boss, though it can be fought earlier. However, fighting Dancer early is exceedingly difficult.

Typically, players would only challenge Dancer later in the game, as its combat strength reached Level 8.

It also means that if a battle were triggered, Riveria and her team would not stand a chance.

The strength of the Lords of Cinder is generally around Level 9.

In Orario, the current strongest adventurer is Ottar at LV7. Reaching LV8 is considered heroic, and such levels have never been recorded. However, the dungeon monsters are terrifying. After all, the One-Eyed Black Dragon was capable of wiping out the Zeus and Hera Familias.

This was a critical factor in the later rise of the Loki and Freya Familias. Without the aid of the Black Dragon, they wouldn't have been able to compete against Zeus and Hera.

Watchdog's hammer was devastating. When Ais and Tiona first engaged, both tried to directly counter the hammer but were severely beaten. The Ice Dog's hammer was inherently powerful.

A single blow from it wasn't something just anyone could withstand. Ais and Tiona, despite their formidable Level 5 strength, struggled against the sheer power of Watchdog's hammer.

Thankfully, Riveria and Lefiya were there to support with magic. Watchdog was no match for their combined efforts, and after defeating it, a large soul dropped, along with its hammer.

"This hammer is amazing! From now on, it's my weapon!"

Tiona exclaimed. Having experienced the hammer's power earlier, she knew it was incredibly strong. As an Amazoness, Tiona typically wielded large, heavy weapons, given her wild fighting style.

Watching Tiona wield the Ice Dog's hammer, Hawkwood couldn't help but twitch at the sight. It was like watching a berserker in action.

The armor was also valuable, and the group took it as well. After stripping the armor, they discovered a deformed creature inside, which somewhat dampened their spirits, so they decided not to dwell on it too much.

As for Ais, she followed an agility-based path, so she naturally wouldn't compete with Tiona for the hammer.

Soon, the group encountered the old lady from the game. Technically, they were supposed to meet her first, then retrieve a banner. The banner would summon the Handmaidens, who would guide them out of the area.

However, in the current setting, this game mechanic wasn't necessary. In the game, characters had many restrictions, as they couldn't jump above knee height, and no matter how strong they were, they couldn't traverse gaps like the Abyss or the broken bridges.

These were limitations within the game, but things were different now. A truly powerful being, like Hawkwood, could ignore these obstacles and descend directly, making the Handmaidens redundant.

Upon meeting the old lady, her objective was clear: she wanted the prince to ascend the throne. However, she didn't intend to reclaim it herself.

What about the Lothric Prince? Well, he was notorious as the most effeminate among the effeminate.

Under her guidance, the group summoned Dancer, but upon her appearance, everyone was immediately bewildered.

"Damn it, this is a Level 8 entity, we're no match for her!"

Riveria quickly activated a barrier, but it couldn't fully defend against Dancer's attacks. The barrier's defenses were being chipped away bit by bit, even when Dancer was wielding only a single sword.

It was clear that they had overestimated their capabilities. Now, they were trying to take on Dancer prematurely.

Dancer is considered a late-game boss, though that label no longer strictly applies. Currently, the Lords of Cinder possess combat power far exceeding that of these minor bosses, so they don't fit into the typical level hierarchy anymore.

The strength of any Lord of Cinder is truly terrifying.

"I need an Ashen Estus Shard, let me think, I'll just wait for an Ashen Estus Shard!!"

Among the items available, the Ashen Estus Shard allows the user to return to the Firelink Shrine, which was still useful, even now.

However, Hawkwood soon realized he was the only one there, which was awkward given the crowd around him.

"It's alright, it's just a Dancer. No need to make things complicated, but remember to act within your limits in the future!"

As Asahi said so, he snapped his fingers, and Dancer's soul instantly disintegrated, and she collapsed to the ground.
