Chapter 838: Chapter 838 Returning to Orario
"Wow... So strong! He dealt with it with just a snap of his fingers! What kind of magic is that?"
Tiona and the others stared in amazement.
"Ah, I accidentally destroyed its soul. Without the soul, it can't be used for enhancement!"
Asahi suddenly remembered that they needed the soul, but he shrugged it off. After all, saving them once was already more than enough. How could they expect him to also help them gather souls?
"Destroyed the soul? It's gone then. No matter, thank you so much! Without you, we would've been doomed this time!"
Riveria breathed a sigh of relief. She had thought they were just in a beginner's area, but encountering such a powerful boss there was beyond her expectations. The whole group had almost been wiped out.
But that display of power left Riveria stunned. To destroy such a formidable monster in one move, just how strong was he? This raised questions, and she even began to suspect that Asahi might be some sort of elevated god.
'However, even if he were a god, shouldn't there be limits to how mysterious he could be? In any case, this guy was shrouded in an aura of mystery.'
"Don't mention it, it was just a matter of timing. You're heading back to Orario now, right? I've got some free time, so I'll join you until the 27th floor!"
Asahi said with a smile, showing no concern. Meanwhile, the others quickly gathered their spoils and prepared to leave.
They asked Asahi about Dancer's weapon, and since Asahi had no use for it, they put it away to take back with them. The two weapons in their possession were both extremely powerful.
It's just that Tiona has the ice dog hammer now, so she doesn't plan to continue using this weapon.
However, since Tiona now wielded the hammer, she didn't plan to use Dancer's weapon. She intended to bring it back for her sister, Tione, to use.
However, given Dancer's unique physique compared to a normal human, dual-wielding the swords wasn't feasible. For them, one sword was ideal, and the other could just go to Finn.
After all, there were only a few high-ranking members in the familia. Ais preferred using a rapier, so she wasn't suited to wielding such large weapons. Finn, though typically wielding a spear, could certainly make use of the sword.
"We're finally going to the other world? I'm really looking forward to it!"
Hawkwood said with a sigh, and the group promptly left the area. The Fire Keeper and others had gathered some guards at the entrance, as the monsters on the 23rd floor weren't too strong.
Breaking through here was almost impossible, and adventurers seeing people guarding the area would likely assume they belonged to another Familia and wouldn't approach recklessly.
"This is really a massive cavern. Is this the dungeon you were talking about? It's truly incredible!"
Following the crowd, Hawkwood marveled as he observed the enormity of the dungeon. As for the Fire Keeper, her eyes had long vanished, so she can't see what a person looks like, but can only see the deepest soul of a person, including these monsters.
Following the members of the Loki Familia, the group quickly returned to the surface and made their way to the familia's residence.
The Loki Familia's home was large and bustling, with many members. The older generation had aged, and fresh blood needed to be added quickly.
For the gods, this was actually a kind of torture, watching their Familia members, whom they regarded as their children, age and eventually pass away. It was not an easy thing to bear.
There are some gods form bonds with their Familia members, which often becomes a deeper kind of torment. However, some gods choose to remain in the lower world indefinitely, searching for the reincarnations of their past lovers.
While a god's lifespan is infinite, humans are not so fortunate. Even the long lives of elves mean little to a god.
As time goes on, these gods continue to wander the mortal realm, though such cases are rare. Many gods interact with mortals with a playful attitude.
A prime example is the Freya Familia. Freya, as a goddess, is open-minded and frequently changes her affections. Ishtar even went so far as to open a red-light district, leaving others speechless.
Apollo, known for being both a male and female god, adds to the complexity of these divine interactions. It's not hard to understand, though. Asahi had read enough mythology to know that these gods were indeed quite chaotic, to say the least.
Upon arriving, Asahi suddenly felt like he was being watched. However, the targets weren't him but rather Hawkwood and the Fire Keeper, as both of their souls were exceptionally noble.
Especially the Fire Keeper, as her soul was a fatal temptation to someone like Fryea.
As for Asahi, Freya couldn't spy on him at all. Unless he stood directly in front of her, Freya wouldn't be able to perceive him from afar, let alone see his soul.
To Asahi, this world was something that could be destroyed with a single breath. The beings within could not detect his presence at all, not even in the slightest.
Before long, the group reached the Loki Familia and met the main goddess, Loki. In this world, many gods have been reimagined, like Loki and Hephaestus, and they all look attractive.
Of course, not to forget to mention Loki's infamous reputation, as she's ruthless to the core.
"Welcome back, Aiz-tan!"
Loki greeted Ais with a mischievous grin and rushed over, but this time, before Ais could react, Riveria had already punched Loki, knocking her to the ground.
"Is… is that really a god?"
Hawkwood covered his face, struggling to see the divine in someone who could be knocked down by their own Familia memeber with a single punch, seeming no different from an ordinary person.
"Without a doubt, she possesses a truly terrifying soul. I have never seen such a large and intense soul!"
The Fire Keeper spoke up, having the ability to glimpse into souls. Now, she could also peek into Loki's soul.
This was partly due to the gods' confidence in their own power, otherwise, the Fire Keeper wouldn't have been able to see so much.
"Okay, Loki, cut it out! Can't you see we have guests?"
Riveria said, feeling exasperated. The first impression their Familia's main goddess gave was always excessive and not very positive. She felt helpless, but there wasn't much she could change about it.
But Loki quickly regained her composure, and upon seeing the Fire Keeper, her eyes lit up. After all, the aura emanating from the Fire Keeper was simply too enticing.
