Naruto: Chakra System

Later in the evening, after an early dinner, Kakashi sat on his bedroom. After being summoned by Hiruzen, he had walked around Konoha, taking in the village he had only ever seen in the anime.

He pondered, "Though I've met quite a few characters from the anime in person today, I don't feel any deep nostalgia from seeing them. Maybe it's because I have memories and experiences of the original Kakashi, as well as my own. This makes me feel more familiar with all these people and places."

He picked up Icha Icha Paradise from his collection of books and opened it to the page where he had left off last night. He thought, "I already know this entire story. The original Kakashi has read this like 'FIFTY' times already, but I should personally finish what I've started."

He then took his forehead protector from his left eye and covered his normal right eye with it. Now, with his always-active Mangekyō Sharingan, he began reading Icha Icha Paradise.

Even a simple One-Tomoe Sharingan is very useful for memorizing many things quickly. But what Kakashi now had was the Mangekyō Sharingan, which made his reading and memorizing speed even faster.

All six volumes of Icha Icha Paradise were completed by him within the next few hours, all thanks to his Mangekyō Sharingan. Even though he liked Icha Icha Paradise, he didn't want to read it all the time like Kakashi has done in anime.

He had learned from his past life that these kinds of things were just distractions and nothing more. He lay on his bed, turning his face to look out the window.

He saw the bright moon of 11 PM and thought, "Can I also copy elemental Kekkei Genkai Jutsu with my Mangekyō Sharingan? Well, it should be possible, as even learning Kekkei Genkai is possible. Onoki learned Dust Release, Kekkai Tōta which is even more difficult than a Kekkei Genkai. So learning is one thing, but what about copying? Would that be possible with the Mangekyō Sharingan? Besides, I also have all elemental affinities, so maybe I can copy and use them."

He thought for a bit and remembered, "Yeah, during the Land of Waves mission, Team 7 encountered Zabuza and his partner, Haku. And Haku has the Ice Release Kekkei Genkai. Maybe I can try to copy his Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals Jutsu when I get the chance. If I can copy it, then I would have two S-rank Jutsu in my arsenal."

That was true. Kakashi, despite having copied thousands of Jutsu, found most of them useless, and out of all of them, he only had one true S-rank Jutsu.

That S-rank Jutsu was his own creation, Lightning Cutter, also called Raikiri. While thinking like that, laying on his bed, he drifted to sleep.

The next morning, after a good night's sleep, he woke up, stretching his body lightly. He then summoned, "System Panel!" A familiar transparent status screen appeared before his eyes.

Then his eyes landed on the Chakra Level status, and he thought, "Hm, Elite Jōnin? So, until now, my chakra reserves were comparable to a Jōnin's, and with all my skills, I was an Elite Jōnin shinobi. Now my chakra reserves are at the Elite Jōnin level, so what would my overall strength be? Maybe a low-level Kage or something?"

He shrugged. He couldn't be sure about that, but he knew one thing that sooner or later, as his chakra grew, he would easily reach Kage-level strength, or maybe even surpass it.

While he also knew that chakra reserves alone couldn't make anyone the strongest—it wasn't like Bleach where higher Spritual energy meant more overall strength and power, otherwise all the Tailed Beasts would be the strongest—though that was only the case for Tailed Beasts.

Higher chakra in a formidable shinobi like Kakashi Hatake became much more powerful. Since Tailed Beast's main attack was the Tailed Beast Bomb, "Bijuudama" while ninja could use other Nature Transformations and Jutsu.

Kakashi knew countless Jutsu, though it was a different matter that most were useless or low level. He made his status panel disappear and began his morning routine.

After getting ready for the day, he left his house and headed towards Naruto's compact apartment. He hadn't seen him yesterday.

It wasn't anything else, but a small part of him still cared a lot about Naruto, and that part mostly belonged to the original Kakashi. It wasn't that he himself didn't care about Naruto, but to him, even now being Kakashi himself, Naruto Uzumaki was more of an anime protagonist than his sensei's son.

After having died once, he would care more about himself than others. Moreover, he also understood that even in the anime, after losing his father, then his friend and teammate, and at last, he even lost his teacher and his wife, it left Kakashi broken.

Naruto, his teacher's son, made Kakashi subconsciously responsible to save him from any danger. Kakashi felt this and muttered, "And it can be said that it's Might Guy who also played a crucial role in not making Kakashi completely broken in the anime, besides Naruto. Well, first I should see for myself how Naruto is doing."
