Naruto: Chakra System

Chapter 6: [CHAPTER 6] The Foodie Jōnin

Kakashi flickered onto a rooftop, spreading his senses to locate Naruto. Since it was 8 AM, Naruto likely wasn't going to be in his apartment.

Finding Naruto was easy through chakra sensing; only he possessed such a huge amount of chakra in the entire village. Not even Hiruzen had that much, nor did the entire village combined would have.

He sensed that Naruto was in an open area, with joker-like makeup on his face, sitting on a small chair, with an old, bald cameraman in front of him.

The bald cameraman shouted at Naruto, "Hey, are you sure you want the photo to be like this?"

Naruto replied loudly, "Yeah, yeah, just take the photo!"

The cameraman grumbled, "As you wish. Just don't regret it. Okay, smile!" He said, then went behind an old-fashioned camera with a large lens.

Kakashi flickered and landed in a hidden spot, near where the ANBU monitoring Naruto were hiding. Sensing someone had landed behind them, the ANBU became alert, on guard, and turned around.

The ANBU squad monitoring Naruto sighed in relief when they saw it was Kakashi Hatake, not an enemy. One said, "Morning, Kakashi-sama." Others nodded and greeted him too with utmost respect.

Kakashi responded with a nod and thought, 'Well, I have quite a bit of respect in ANBU still, huh? But not in the Root division, obviously. Though I shouldn't bother myself with them; they don't even respect Hiruzen, the Hokage of the village. What can I expect from them? Still, I'm well respected in other divisions.'

He thought about Danzō and commented, 'If I were to become Hokage, I would definitely get rid of Danzō and his Root first.'

He remembered something and thought, 'Hm, now that I think about it, in the anime, I was the Sixth Hokage, right? And with my strength growing, maybe I could be put in that position early if everything doesn't happen the same way as in the anime.'

He shook his head, pushing these thoughts away. He didn't have much desire to be Hokage, though he wouldn't say no, as it didn't seem like too much of a bothersome job.

Paperwork? He could always use Shadow Clones. Other elders causing problems for him? He could easily and quietly send them to the Pure Lands.

He mused, 'Well, if I think about it that way, the Hokage position doesn't sound that tiring. It's just Hiruzen who makes it seem very troublesome. I don't know why, but if it's really that bad, I can always refuse if I'm offered this position in the future.'

He then looked at Naruto, feeling that the current scene was quite familiar. He asked the hidden ANBU, "What is Naruto doing?"

One replied, "The Jinchūriki is taking a picture for his registration form to submit to Hokage-sama."

Kakashi nodded and thought, 'Oh, now I remember. This is a scene from the anime, and later, during the submission of the registration form, he will have his first meeting with Konohamaru.'

Kakashi watched the blue-eyed, three-whiskered blonde teenager for some time before deciding to go another way. He told the ANBU to make sure Naruto remained safe.

Kakashi then went to Ichiraku Ramen for breakfast, which he had skipped this morning. After eating a few bowls of delicious ramen at the Ichiraku Ramen shop, he thought, "Should I visit the Medical Department? I can try copying the Mystic Palm Jutsu."

Then he considered it a bit and concluded, "But copying Mystic Palm Jutsu isn't going to be useful if I don't even know how to use it properly. For that, I need extensive study of medical stuff, which is very time-consuming and bothersome. So, I'll just skip it, I suppose."

Then he considered, "I should try out all the food items that even the Kakashi from the anime hasn't tried." He then pulled out a small notebook and started writing down his routine for the day.

Yesterday, he had personally traveled around Konoha Village, and today was time for testing food items. First, he noted to try bakery items, then stall foods, like Yakisoba, Mochi, and Onigiri.

Then for lunch, he would visit a Dango shop, and for dinner, he decided to visit the Akimichi Clan's Yakiniku Q for Barbeque. He didn't even need to worry about money.

As an Elite Jōnin, and with all the missions he had completed, his wealth was enough for him to live comfortably for a decade without doing anything. With his list noted, he first visited a bakery shop.

Konoha's midday sun cast long shadows as Kakashi Hatake strolled through the village streets and arrived at a quaint shop. He read the painted sign above the shop, "Konoha's finest bakery shop. Hmm, I will taste its baked goods then decide if it's really the finest."

Whoosh!

Ring!

He opened the shop gate, and a small bell chimed as he entered the bakery. Inside, the air was thick with the rich scent of baked sugar and yeast.

A stout man, the shop owner, welcomed him and took his order. He chose strawberry shortcake and a rich chocolate cake after his gaze lingered on the display of small individual cakes.

He took a seat at the counter, as the shop was quite modest, not very large and fancy like the bakery shops from his past life. The baker, a plump, cheerful woman, a worker from the shop, dusting her apron, wrapped Kakashi's ordered cakes in simple paper, and presented them to Kakashi.
