Chapter 271: Round Two!?
"Is this guy dead?" the Telekinetic Paragon muttered, his eyes reflecting the fear he felt.
"We wanted to investigate the disappearance of Mirabella, but because we had to fight these monsters, we've been delayed. We even wanted to fight you… but our pride…"
He sighed to himself, especially when he felt that Zarek's blood had completely stopped pumping.
Another figure rose from the dust and rubble, bloodshot eyes glaring. His state wasn't optimal, bruises and injuries covered him, with a deep fist mark right on his face.
When he looked at the ball of water, a gleeful sneer crossed his lips. "This bastard is dead, or I would have taken care of it myself."
"Eden, our job was to investigate the disappearance of our holy priestess, not about him."
"Even still," Eden gritted his teeth, filled with nothing but anger. His growl came in a deep voice, "a mere Telekinetic Master being so disrespectful to us."
"You know everyone is already in full-blown panic because the fate of humans has been completely cut off from the priestess. That means she is either dead or has betrayed humanity, and this guy might have been able to help us find out, but now he's dead before my hand…"
"Heh, does it really matter?" Eden scoffed. "Aiken, that woman was just a mere puppet we planted anyway."
"Still…"
—
"Time Revert."
Eryke muttered quietly while sitting in his chair, his brows furrowed in thoughtfulness as he watched the little girl in front of him move her sword with precise swiftness.
Every time he improved her, he gained some Destiny Points as well.
His Destiny Points were steadily increasing, while his Sword Will had already sharpened considerably, growing to the height of fifty feet. He didn't even know how powerful he had become, having surpassed the strength of a Second-stage Martial Artist.
"Will a First-stage Martial Artist be able to contest me?" Eryke wondered, though he doubted it. Through Gang Reyong, he had a clear understanding of the power of a First-stage Martial Artist. While their bodies were considerably stronger due to the fusion of their body and Will, he was confident he could slice right through them if he caught them off guard.
That said, fighting head-on might still be difficult. Also, the <Monster Creator> skill he had purchased remained unused. His original plan was to summon stone golems to fight Mirabella, but he no longer needed to. Zarek's strength had reached an almost unmatched level.
—
The moment Eryke spoke, Zarek, trapped within the ball of water, suddenly regained full control of his body, his heart began to beat once more.
In the blink of an eye, his eyes snapped open, revealing boundless blue pupils as he stared out at the ocean. He roared, divine energy surging and circulating throughout his entire being.
The temperature of his body skyrocketed, his golden skin glowing with a bright red hue.
Though the water surrounding him did not evaporate, the intense heat created a protective layer that separated him from the liquid.
Now fully conscious, Zarek frowned. "I underestimated the power of a Telekinetic Paragon."
The water he was trapped in was dense and heavy. Though he had adapted to it, that didn't mean he was completely safe from his own body's liquid suddenly turning still and freezing in place.
There had been little time, and Zarek was caught off guard. By the time he reacted, he was already completely surrounded by the water.
But now that he had gathered himself, Zarek definitely had a way out and it was simple.
"There's some movement," Eden called out, eyes fixed on a flaring red light within the blue ball of water. Unlike normal water, this liquid shimmered with a distinct blue hue.
"What?" Aiken walked towards the ball of water and carefully sensed the change; his parched lips couldn't help trembling. "He… he is back alive."
"Huh?" Eden was just startled when Zarek walked out of the globe of blue with a casual demeanour.
"Well, it's been a long time, huh?" Zarek grinned while cracking his neck. "Or not that long, but let's start our round two."
The two paragons, Eden and Aiken, felt a shiver down their spine.
"W-wasn't he dead?" Eden stuttered, his face pale. He had a lot of bravado when he saw that Zarek was dead, but now, upon seeing the hulking man, how could he keep his calm?
He was instantly terrified in his heart, just staring at Zarek, almost shitless.
Aiken replied, "How am I supposed to know?"
Zarek wasn't one to give them time to think; he moved towards them quickly to punch them.
For now, he could only rely on his raw strength if he wanted to even have a chance at beating the two paragons, because all other means were almost utterly ineffective against him.
He had barely travelled a meter before he felt two terrifying Telekinetic energies bore down on him mercilessly.
Zarek grunted, and his pace slightly slowed down, but then he quickened even further in a nanosecond, and in just a second, he was right before Eden, his figure towering over him. His fist mark was still practically dented on his cheeks; the red flare was very glaring and dangerous at the same time.
"Want another fist mark?" he said with a grin, about to punch.
While Eden was completely pale and his body shivered involuntarily, he forgot to even breathe, and his end was going to come soon.
But suddenly, he heard a loud feminine shout:
"Stop."
Zarek, of course, didn't stop; his fist was mere inches from taking his life.
But the loud voice shouted again:
"I said stop."
Zarek froze involuntarily; he thought in his mind, "This power… this is like the power that Mirabella had…"
A power quite like the Telekinetic Energy but completely different. It was as if the world itself was stopping his fist from advancing, the power that Demi-god had.
Zarek's eyes flashed with greed. He used every ounce of strength his body could muster, and the Divine Energy rapidly circulated inside him. His fist, inch by inch, was closing in to meet Eden.
