Chapter 270: Dead!?
Zarek certainly felt the itch to fight, but before him, there was no one who could truly challenge him. That made him frown in displeasure, what was the point if there was no one he could adapt to?
He was undeniably intrigued by the power of the so-called Demi-god they spoke of, and he wanted to claim that power through Adapt. But there wasn't a single person strong enough for him to test it on.
Growling in frustration, he turned around and shot into the sky, a streak of comets trailing behind him as he flew swiftly.
Each moment stirred the wind, his figure blurring into a fleeting shadow.
"Ah, freedom."
Having been imprisoned for so long, Zarek was naturally savoring every moment of his freedom. Eyes closed, he let the wind rush past him, the rustling air making him wince in pure enjoyment.
Then, he tilted his head down, gazing at the aftermath of the mountain meteorite. The place had turned into a wasteland, utterly unrecognizable.
You have to understand, Zarek had carried an entire mountain. The weight alone was well over 2.2 trillion pounds.
Of course, he hadn't carried it from the base, even for him, that would have been difficult. From his estimation, it stood around half a kilometer tall and roughly a mile wide.
But even that, falling under the gravity and later increased by twenty-five fold, it would be a life-ending scenario back on Earth.
Luckily, the material here in this world was much stronger than the Earth, so it wasn't as cataclysmic.
As he soared through the air, his long golden hair fluttered with the wind. Suddenly, he paused on the spot, his eyes narrowed ever so slightly. He paused in the air, straightened his back, and spoke with a deep voice:
"Come out."
"Oh, boy, you were able to sense us." A chuckle sounded in front of him, and two people slowly floated in front of him.
Dressed in a black uniform, they looked like average guards that you'd find in the empire.
However, Zarek, who carefully sensed their presence, had his eyes widen from the sheer surprise he felt.
'Telekinetic Paragon!'
That's right. In front of him, both of them were Telekinetic Paragons. Just standing there in empty air, they emitted a terrifying presence without hiding it.
But these two were dressed like guards. Could there be someone who has two Telekinetic Paragons as guards?
Shaking these terrifying thoughts away, Zarek chuckled while looking at them deeply.
"So, what are two Telekinetic Paragons doing here?"
"Is that your first question, boy?" one of them asked while looking around him. "But unfortunately, only we are allowed to ask questions to you." He smiled, but the smile didn't look like a smile. Even Most certainly when his pupils were so threatening.
"We'll see about that," Zarek spoke with a growl and hesitation. His Telekinetic power surged outward, and at the same time, he used the power of gravity, increasing it by multiple folds.
The two Telekinetic Paragons merely scoffed, almost completely unaffected by Zarek's gravity.
"Boy, I must commend you for being able to truly manifest your Telekinetic ability, but you are just a mere Telekinetic Master. Even if you are made of gold, it is nothing to us—"
Zarek moved in an instant, his figure blurring as he appeared right in front of the talking Paragon, and his fist met the Paragon's cheek without mercy.
The Telekinetic Paragon reacted swiftly, forming a shield for himself and quickly defending against Zarek's fist.
"Useless," Zarek sneered, his fist driving straight at the Telekinetic shield.
"Hmph. Against my shield, it is impossible for you to even touch me."
However, the man watched in horror as Zarek's golden fist shattered his shield without any resistance and continued its momentum, slamming into his body, crushing every bone, muscle, and fiber, before sending him whizzing through the air and crashing into the ground.
His world turned into a blurry blast as he landed, his body twitching continuously until he finally fell flat.
Silence.
Zarek's golden figure slowly turned toward the other Telekinetic Paragon, and his grin couldn't be contained.
"H-How…!?"
The Telekinetic Paragon gritted his teeth, utterly stunned on the spot, his eyes wide as he stared at the golden figure of Zarek.
However, he was not given much time to recollect, as Zarek shot toward him.
"Hmph." The man gritted his teeth and extended his hand. The spear strapped to his back flew into his grasp in an instant, and he thrust it toward Zarek. A blue ball of water shot from the tip of the spear, racing toward Zarek.
Zarek shrugged and casually leaned his shoulder slightly, allowing the ball of water to pass by as he shot forward, even faster than before. But when he looked up, five more balls of water were hurtling toward him.
Reacting swiftly, he dodged every single one of them with quick reflexes—but even more came his way.
Zarek could definitely tank the hits, but he could feel the danger radiating from the balls of water, and there was no way he was going to let them touch him.
His golden body shone even brighter as he accelerated.
Almost immediately, Zarek could feel the man's Telekinetic energy trying to disrupt his movement. And for a while, it worked, until, of course, he completely adapted to it and continued advancing, dodging the fast blue projectiles in rapid succession.
In the blink of an eye, Zarek was about to reach the man.
Just then, the man, the Telekinetic Paragon, suddenly grinned, and Zarek's heart trembled.
"You fell for my trap," the Telekinetic Paragon said. All the blue balls he had shot forward seemed to merge with the atmosphere.
Now, they gathered and completely submerged Zarek in an instant.
Zarek, now encased in the ball of water, felt his senses immediately snap away from him. Not only that, but his entire bodily fluids stopped working, from blood to even mucus. His heart shut down in an instant.
For a moment, he seemed dead. And that was true.
He was dead!
