Chapter 56: Talk
(Geri POV)
"Son, we need to talk," Dad said.
"Dad... what happened to me?"
He sighed and conjured a screen in the air, revealing an image of a towering 25-foot hellhound—twisted, monstrous, with mismatched body parts that shouldn't exist.
"This... was you, son. Or what you became yesterday."
I stared at the image in horror. "What the hell happened to me, Dad?"
He closed the screen and sat beside me on the bed.
"That was your combat form. It enhances every aspect of your power. But yours… was different. It didn't feel like I was looking at you. It felt like staring into the souls of hundreds—fragmented, chaotic."
I stayed silent, still shaken.
"So what now?"
"For now, you need rest. Once you're fully healed, we'll begin training so you can learn to control that form—without losing yourself."
I nodded slowly.
"Just stay in your room for the next few days," he added, standing up. "I'm heading back to Wrath to clean up the mess you made."
He opened a portal, preparing to leave. Just before it closed, he turned back.
"Oh, and son—your girlfriend's in the lobby."
"...Alright."
He nodded once, then stepped through, the portal snapping shut behind him.
I sighed and picked up the hotel landline, dialing room service.
"Hello, room service," came a voice on the other end.
"This is Geri."
"Oh! Greetings, my Lord. How may I assist you?"
"Is there someone in the lobby waiting?"
"Yes, sir. One named Luna, and another listed as Lord Leviathan."
"You can let them both into my room."
"Of course, my Lord."
"Thanks."
"Always a pleasure, sir."
I hung up the phone and leaned back. As I waited, I glanced down at my arm—it was marked with glowing red sigils, like seals meant to suppress unstable power.
Then the door burst open.
Levy and Luna stood in the doorway. Levy's face was streaked with dried tears.
"Oh my sweet baby!" she cried, rushing to my side and hugging me tightly. "What happened to you?"
"I'm fine, Levy. Just... really tired."
She let go and examined me, eyes scanning for injuries. After a moment, she sighed in relief.
"Well, as long as you're safe. But please, please try not to turn into a massive demon wolf again. I couldn't bear to lose you."
"I promise."
She smiled and hugged me again. I hugged her back—then caught Luna's expression.
"Hey, Luna. You okay? I didn't hurt you, did I?"
She quickly shook her head. "Oh—no! Just... worried about you. You got beat up pretty bad before your dad arrived to stop you."
"You saw?"
"Yeah... you turned into this huge hellhound and started destroying everything. The only ones you didn't attack were me, Stolas, and the rest of the crew."
"You even flattened half the town," she added with a sheepish smile.
I groaned and sank into the pillows, utterly embarrassed.
"Hey, it's okay. Your dad fixed most of the damage before he left. Don't worry too much."
Still, the guilt gnawed at me.
"I'm really sorry, Luna..."
"Pfft. Come on. We've faced worse."
I chuckled and tried to sit up, but pain shot through my body. Levy gently pushed me back down and pulled a blanket over me.
"Rest, love." She whispered something in an ancient tongue, and my eyes grew heavy. I drifted off to sleep.

(Leviathan POV)
After I made sure Geri was resting, I leaned down and gave him a kiss on the cheek, then stood up.
I noticed the hellhound girl—Luna—staring at him with... longing?
I approached her, eyes narrowing slightly. "So, Luna, is it?"
Her eyes snapped to mine. "Yes... Leviathan, I presume."
"You talk pretty big... for such a small pup."
"...What?"
"I'd advise you to stay away from my man, if you know what's good for you."
"What the hell does that mean?"
"It means that as long as I'm here, you don't stand a chance with him." I stepped closer, asserting dominance.
She didn't flinch. "Is that a challenge?" she asked, voice sharp.
I let out a soft laugh at her boldness. "Oh no, darling... it's a promise."
We stared each other down, silent and still, like two wolves before a fight.
The tension shattered when the door creaked open.
"Geri! Time for breakfast!" said a cheerful voice.
It was the princess of Hell, Charlie, walking in with a tray of soup and medicine.
"Oh, sorry for interrupting..." She glanced nervously at our standoff. "I'll just... leave this here."
She set the tray on the table and hurried out.
I stood tall again and brushed invisible dust off my sleeve.
"As much as I enjoy asserting my authority over the lower class, I have business elsewhere."
I stepped past Luna, opened the door, and turned one last time.
"Do remember my warning. He's mine, and mine alone."
Then I left the room, letting the door shut behind me.
Luna stood there, stunned. But after a moment, she slowly walked over to Geri, bent down, and whispered something in his ear. Then, gently, she kissed him on the forehead... and left.

(Meanwhile, in the corner of the room...)
A black demon with a bowl of cheesy popcorn sat in the shadows, eyes wide.
"Man, this is getting good."
Beside him, a small white tiger munched from the same bowl.
"I know, right? I wonder who'd win in a battle for his heart."
They kept watching, shoveling popcorn into their mouths as the flames of drama burned ever higher.
