My new life in Hell

Chapter 57: Cheese Cave

(Plagg POV)

I was starving.

My vision was fading.

Oh, this cruel world...

As I lay on my custom-made bed of spider silk, my stomach growled with hunger.

It was torture. I hadn't eaten anything for a whole ten minutes.

I clutched my stomach, waiting for my next meal, when Sasha the tiger spoke.

"You know, you could just eat more cheese in the cheese caves."

I straightened up and looked at her.

"The what?"

"The cheese caves. In Springfield, Missouri."

Without hesitation, I zipped out of the room and flew straight to Dad's office.

"Dad!"

He didn't even look up from his paperwork. "Yes, Plagg?"

"Can I go to the human realm? To Springfield, Missouri?"

He snapped his fingers, and a glowing portal appeared.

"Be back before dinner."

He kept writing, not missing a beat.

"Thanks, Dad! Love you!"

I flew straight through the portal.

"I love you too, Plagg," he said as the portal closed.

And then... right in front of me...

All the cheese I could ever want.

Was this... heaven?

If so, it was beautiful.

I dove in, devouring everything I could—brie, gouda, cheddar, parmesan—every flavor, every texture. Sweet, stinky, creamy, sharp.

I ate like I had never eaten before.

Five hours passed.

I now lay on the cold floor, belly round and heavy, completely satisfied.

A portal back home opened in front of me. I tried to fly... but I was too full.

I could barely move.

So I crawled to the portal.

Once through, I flopped belly-up onto Dad's desk.

He picked me up and chuckled. "Did you enjoy yourself?"

I let out a loud burp.

"Yes."

"Do you want to go to sleep?"

"Yes."

He smiled and carried me to my room, gently placing me down on my bed before leaving.

I lay there, full and content.

Then Sasha poked her head through the window and padded into my room. She jumped up and curled herself on top of my stomach.

I was too tired to protest.

I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
