Chapter 224: Cursed Bag of Tricks
"What?!"
Yisu didn't expect Hal to survive at all, and so was unable to capitalize on her advantage.
She thought the infuriating brat was done for after she used both her Spatial Domination Domain and Spatial Shackle spells.
The former sealed the spatial repositioning options of her enemy and provided other advantages, while the latter prevented the recipient of the shackles from moving a certain distance away from the caster in the burst and span of a second.
Dumbfounded for a moment, a scowl appeared on Yisu's face, quickly resuming her assault.
Time was ticking.
Her advantages were still there and would remain until she slaughtered the damned Magna Prospect.
It shouldn't take too long for her to end the battle, as long as she doesn't stop attacking until the bastard is dead.
Yisu quickly cast a horrifying Gravity Ball Hal's way, forcing him to dash away with [Licht Step] and activating the Spatial Shackles' restrictions.
She then reappeared behind Hal using Blink and swiped a Spatial Rend his way.
The Fell Hag was not aware that, unlike them, Hal's spells had cooldowns, and so did not expect him to use a different defensive spell.
Hal swiped diagonally upwards with his right arm, causing a [Dark Reversal Plate] to appear behind him.
To her surprise, the [Rare]-tier defensive spell actually held up and shot her horrifying Spatial Rend back to her, forcing Yisu to dodge to the side using [Blink] and enter her opponent's range of vision
Hal quickly took advantage of this chance and sent a vicious middle finger her way, leaving the Fell Hag momentarily trembling.
A sharp burst of pain washed over Yisu at once, and she suddenly bled from her nose, feeling slightly weaker after.
"What did you do to me, brat?!" she roared in utter fury, not understanding what had happened to her body just now.
"Nevermind, don't answer and just die!!"
Yisu finally snapped, going berserk.
She fired a series of offensive spatial spells such as Spatial Rends, Gravity Balls, and Space Implosions.
But to her exasperation, the bastard was still able to respond, conjuring all sorts of annoying barriers, which, although easily destroyed by her spells, still allowed the young man to scrape by barely.
"I'M DONE WITH YOU AND YOUR CURSED BAG OF TRICKS!"
She fired a Spatial Annihilation spell at Hal, fully convinced that he should be out of options against it.
It was one of her strongest spells, after all, requiring her to spend a significant amount of mana.
The spell also covered a wide effective range, which a single dash-type spell would never cover.
It was extremely embarrassing to be forced by a youngster of the lesser race to this extent, but Yisu didn't care anymore.
She just wanted to obliterate the bastard to oblivion.
Noticing that a massive area of space around him was distorting, Hal's eyes widened, not expecting her to use such a terrifying spell.
She dared use such a high-level spell against a junior?!
"Shameless!" Hal complained, gritting his teeth as he used the lone charge of one of the [Rare]-tier spells he obtained earlier.
He snapped his fingers, causing a void pocket to appear behind him, which he quickly entered and hid in.
It only lasted for two seconds.
However, this short duration was enough to allow him to survive like a cockroach yet again.
The space around him burst into utter distortion the next moment, displacing everything and forcefully repositioning them in another location.
Unfortunately for Yisu, her spell didn't affect those hiding in the nothingness of the void, and all it did was wreck the empty air.
Had Hal not managed to avoid the attack in time, his body parts would've been forcefully ripped apart and ended up in different locations inside the annihilation spell's effective range, raining blood once more upon the human wizards beneath.
He emerged from his hiding spot a second later.
"WHAT?!" exclaimed Yisu after failing to kill the brat again.
The momentary lack of focus caused her to suffer another vicious middle finger, trembling in the same way she did earlier, but this time, she spat out a mouthful of blood.
"BASTARD!!"
She couldn't care less about what Hal did to her this time, determined to end things once and for all.
Yisu raised her hands and made a gripping motion.
Hal grew tense, preparing to dash away, modest as the distance covered was.
But soon, he realized what had changed.
He couldn't breathe!
The space inside the Spatial Domination Domain was under Yisu's control, and she could move all breathable air to her side in exchange for a considerable expenditure of mana, leaving Hal with none to inhale.
Seeing the struggle on the infuriating young human's face, the Fell Hag finally felt vindicated.
"Hahahaha! Why don't you speak now, brat?!"
She then continued firing Spatial Rends and Gravity Balls at him, forcing him to the other side of the dome.
Yisu had to conserve mana this time to maintain control of the breathable air.
But she still had quite a lot left in the tank, and as long as she used her offensive spells sparingly to only keep her opponent on the other half of the sphere, she shouldn't run out.
Still, Yisu found it infuriating and humiliating to be forced to expend this much effort against a mere human brat, highly regarded by the lesser race as the bastard was.
She could only hope that no one from her race could see what was happening.
The Fell Hag at least lucked out in this regard, as beneath her, the remaining few dozen Fellkin Warriors were desperately fighting to push back the increasingly determined human army, who had somehow recovered their morale after despairing for a few moments.
It was undoubtedly Hal who made this possible.
Emmanuel unhesitatingly took over and was leading the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Regiments, along with the special, smaller forces, closer and closer to breaking through the fell ranks.
Perhaps in twenty more seconds, they would have no enemies ahead, only to their sides and rear.
"FIRE!! FIRE AT WILL!! WE'RE ALMOST THROUGH!! DON'T WASTE THE CHAOS MAGNA PROSPECT'S EFFORTS AND BRAVERY!! FIRE!!" the acting leader cried at the top of his lungs.
Emmanuel could only do this, as he did not have the fallen Cedar and Rowan's wind elemental spells to carry his voice.
Meanwhile, inside the Spatial Domination Domain, Hal quickly swapped one of the spells in the gesture slots for one he didn't expect would come in handy.
He then snapped his fingers, veiling himself with a thin layer of spatial barrier with an unlimited supply of breathable air, resuming the act of struggle and panic shortly after while inwardly celebrating:
'Hahahaha! You dumb hag…let's see how long it would take for your stupid self to realize…'
