My Joker System: From Low Mana Trash to the Mightiest Wizard!

Chapter 223: Spatial Mastery

If experienced and high-level wizards were asked what would be the number one cause of an accident in a battle where one side was overwhelmingly stronger than the other, it would be talking too much.

Yisu also knew this, so she stopped conversing with her prey and aimed to finish him, continuously tracking his movements and using the Blink spell to reappear behind him.

This wasn't something difficult for a Fellkin's eyes.

On average, those from the fell race had faster reaction times than humans, which was why it was difficult for a human to defeat a Fellkin in a duel, even if they were on the same level.

There was simply no way in hell Hal could utilize his repositioning spells to run circles around Yisu.

If anything, he was lucky that he had been surviving for more than twenty seconds now, though the tale of the battle remained the same:

Yisu would teleport behind Hal and try to kill him with offensive spatial spells.

The number of the human brat's repositioning spells made it difficult for her to catch him, however, gnawing at the fell hag's patience.

Beneath, the Imperial Wizard Army advanced.

The first few seconds of Hal and Yisu's duel became the most stressful moment of Emmanuel's life, surpassing even the moment he was caught by his wife hugging another woman at the local beerhouse.

The acting leader of the Boulder Guards desperately prayed to all the gods, including Jeebus Bryce, to grant Hal Fennec all the blessings he needed to survive for a long enough time—at least until the Imperial Wizard Army breaks through.

It shouldn't take longer than a minute.

And so, in the short moment the mana fluctuations stopped, his heart sank.

He had no way to know that the fell hag was quite the yapper, after all.

Hal, too, did not stop, talking crap while continuously repositioning in the air.

He didn't appreciate being overwhelmed in such a humiliating way at all.

Yisu, in the past dozen seconds, had been hunting him down, continuously reappearing behind him as if to assert dominance.

Hal couldn't help but spout a few bullcrap to vent his frustrations.

As a result, both combatants were growing increasingly angry at the other party.

"What? Huh?! Do you even have a brain, Fell Hag?" Hal mocked furiously, breathing heavily in a mix of nervousness, agitation, and adrenaline, activating [Blink] once more to escape.

"I could see your attacks from a mile away! Come on, reappear somewhere else, maybe to my side this time? How could one be so uncreative? Even your dumb lord's fart would know where the attacks would be coming by now!"

While Yisu was confident that the young human brat would run out of steam first, she couldn't allow the crappery to go on.

Not only did she feel that it was humiliating to be unable to end a mere brat in a few seconds, but the human army beneath her was about to break through!

She had to hold them for long enough until the reinforcements arrived.

To do that, she had to end the infuriating brat in front of her, and fast!

"I'm done with you and your filthy mouth, brat!" she exclaimed in anger, her apathetic exterior crumbling completely.

She stopped pursuing Hal, granting him a moment of reprieve.

But not for long.

In the next moment, a spherical domain extended from her, solidifying after capturing the human brat inside it.

'Damn this hag!' Hal cursed inwardly.

He couldn't even react, as the expansion of the sphere was way too fast for his eyes.

This was the bottleneck he was currently stuck at.

His spells were now far stronger and faster, sure, but what use were they if his eyes couldn't keep up?

He planned to ask Zephyron about it.

Unfortunately, the Wind Magna was nowhere to be found, and he was now in a dire situation himself.

If there was anything that a wizard would find no difficulty in grasping, it would be that domain-type spells would always work to the benefit of the enemy.

One would be disadvantaged if caught.

Hal tried to swap positions with one of the traps he set, which was outside the range of the Spatial Domination Domain, and Yisu sensed his attempt.

But the spell failed to activate.

It was as though the entire space inside the domain was under the Fell Hag's control.

"Hoh, Spatial Swap, huh?" Yisu couldn't resist yapping, "Not bad for a human brat. Unfortunately, you won't live past today."

This time, Hal couldn't retort, breaking into a cold sweat.

He was in quite an alarming situation.

While he was in a slight panic, Hal once again failed to notice that a translucent purple chain materialized behind him, piercing his back and chest, before latching itself on Yisu's heart.

'Sh*t!'

To his bewilderment, he didn't feel anything.

The chain continued to exist, however, linking him to the Fell Hag.

"Heh, look at your stupid face." Yisu sneered, "Die!"

In the next instant, she disappeared and reappeared behind Hal once more, resuming the previous sequence.

The way the chain moved made it slightly easier for Hal to know where his opponent would come from.

However, it didn't matter in the slightest, as the Fell Hag stubbornly refused to change her pattern, as if to make a statement.

Hal knew using [Blink] to escape shouldn't be possible, so he [Zephyr Step]ped away instead.

But to his horror, he wasn't able to go very far, as the chains reappeared, clanged tight, and prevented him from doing so.

Hal quickly turned and cast [Mana Barrier] and [Reinforced Ice Wall], barely saving himself from Yisu's Spatial Rend.

Both defensive spells cracked immediately, shattering after merely a second.

It was enough to weaken the Spatial Rend.

However, the spatial spell still proceeded, tearing through the air and scattering the fragments of the destroyed defenses.

Before it could reach Hal, however, a massive dark maw chomped on the invisible Spatial Rend, finally destroying it for good.

It took Hal a total of three spells just to handle one of Yisu's.

The power difference was still quite overwhelming, though not unmanageable.

Contrary to the Fell Hag's expectations, the attack didn't shake her opponent's heart, instead giving Hal renewed confidence to face her.

Three spells?

Fine, he shall utilize his entire arsenal.
